The preservation of these traditions is only possible thanks to the volunteers of all ages and professions who are the heart of these associations. The music band of Colfosco-Corvara will enchant you with the melodies of its rich repertoire, which is mainly folkloric. You can also admire the beautiful Tyrolean costumes of the musicians, who strictly follow the traditions of each village. In case of bad weather in the events hall of Corvara. Enjoy a special evening of music with Settle Back & Friends! Ulli Gamper (vocals), Michael Gschliesser (piano), Andreas Gschliesser (bass), and Stephan Koler (drums) will take you on a journey through soulful ballads and lively songs. The festival for the whole family! For the 18th time in 2025, Schluderns will be the ideal setting for the South Tyrolean Knights' Festival. In the historical ambience of Churburg Castle, Lichtenberg Castle ruins, Fürstenburg Castle and Marienberg Monastery, spectacular show battles will keep the spectators in suspense from 22 to 24 August 2025. Come along on a journey to the Middle Ages! Proud knights take aim at their opponents. They dash into battle on their elegant horses, lances burst, armour clatters, the noble lords crown their victor. The crowd cheers and marvels at all kinds of exotic and curious things. 2,000 performers from 11 countries offer the most extensive programme in the Alpine region! All attractions on the grounds are free of charge: Shows, camel and donkey rides, archery, children's tournaments, petting zoo, carousels, children's entertainment.

In building a small robot, you can give free rein to your creativity! Then you can challenge the other participants in a Lego arena with your robot. In addition to building the small robot, you will also learn the principle of 3D printing.

Barthlmastag is an important Rittner vacation with a long tradition. It is celebrated annually on August 24 and takes its name from the patron saint of shepherds and farmers, St. Bartholomew. If the 24th of August falls on a Sunday, as it does this year, the cattle drive and the market are moved to Monday since Sunday is not a market day according to custom. In the past, on this day, the farmers met on the Rittner Alm for the cattle drive and the subsequent market. The cattle of the farmers, who spent the summer on the alp, are herded together at the Saltner hut and driven in at noon with “Goasslschnoellen”, Saltner calls, neighing and yelling. The meeting point is a fenced-in area, the “Stricker Pfarrer”, where in earlier years the Barthlmas market took place, where the farmers met to do various business. Today the market takes place in Pemmern, where agricultural products from the region are offered. Since 1927, the spectacle has been accompanied by the Wangen music band, which has also provided food and drink since the 1960s. After this highlight on the Rittner Alm, the afternoon continues downhill to Pemmern, where the Almfest becomes a meadow festival with music and children’s programs. How to get to the Rittner Alm?: - with public transportation: With the Rittner cable car from Bozen - Oberbozen, with the Ritten Railway from Oberbozen - Klobenstein/station + Bus 166 to Pemmern, timetable: www.ritten.com/mobil - by own car or with the paid shuttle bus to the parking lot Pemmern. The journey takes place by taxi to Aica di Fiè. From here, we hike with our guide Herbert to the Tschafon plateau. The ascent to the Tschafon hut passes through shady coniferous forests. From the hut, we reach the peak of Mount Balzo and enjoy the view. After the lunch break, we descend towards Wuhnleger with a view of the Rosengarten massif and leisurely return to the starting point. The return journey is again by taxi. The local hiking guide will lead you on this easy circular hike to the show distillery. It goes past high moors, watercourses and alpine meadows. On the way, the lunch break is held alternately at a hut. Free of charge for holders of the Guest Pass and guests of member establishments. (Transportation and lunch not included)

At the Gampen Pass, we visit a military bunker from World War II. Afterwards, we hike along a gravel road and then a footpath. The trail leads upward in switchbacks until we cross a wide valley at the foot of the small Laugenspitze. Continuing with a gentle ascent, we reach the small idyllic Gfrillneralm where we take a break. There, we can enjoy wonderful views of the Dolomites. After that, a pleasant road leads down to the Gampenstraße, from where we take the bus back to Lana. Metres in altitude: approx. 400 m Total walking time: 4 hours Difficult hike: moderate

The last ice age shaped the landscape of Stelvio National Park. How can we still recognize the impact of the ice age today? What is a "rock glacier?" This year we celebrate the very first edition of the Bread Festival, an event dedicated to one of the simplest and most treasured foods of our tradition. The event will be hosted by the local mountain huts and businesses of La Crusc / Santa Croce. In the days leading up to the festival, there will be special moments. The festival day itself on Sunday will culminate in a joyful celebration with typical dishes, music, encounters and workshops for both children and adults, all centered around bread and the traditions that surround it. A warm and inclusive event, open to all – a moment to reconnect with the land, with craftsmanship, and with each other. The annual highlight of the summer season is the legendary Fane Festival. The festival continues to be a wonderful meeting place where old and young, locals and travellers come together to celebrate. Traditionally, the festival opens at 10.30 am with a field mass, after which the aroma of delicious delicacies wafts around the alpine huts: traditional farmhouse dishes such as various dumplings, Kasnockn, Tirtlan and all kinds of strudel are on the menu at the Fane Fest, and rarely are these delicacies prepared as authentically as here.

Knödel are not just dumplings, they are the ultimate South Tyrolean dish and no one knows this better than Franzi. At the Lechnerhof she creates them with the guests and shows them what must be included in the traditional food and dispels many culinary legends. Spinach, cheese, beetroot - different types of dumplings are prepared and, of course, tasted together. And the recipes? You can take them with you to become the king of the kitchen back home.

For over 30 years now the Valas Village Fair counts as one of the biggest events on the Tschögglberg high plateau Friday 20.30: Warm Up Party Saturday 20.00: music & dance DJ in the separate party-tent Sunday 10.00: Holy mass from 13.00: different musical performances Finally the big raffle prize distribution

Up to 2,200 sheep and 300 goats set off from the Niedertal Alm Mountain hut in Vent valley (A) in the early morning, moving upwards through high-Alpine terrain (not dangerous) to Giogo Basso/Niederjoch (3,019 m) or the Refuge Similaun, the first group in the herd arriving at about 9:00 a.m. The most dangerous part of the return journey begins here, particularly if there is snow on the ground or the trail or parts of it are icy. Below the hut, the procession winds downhill on quite a narrow trail through steep and rocky terrain (down to about 2,600 m). The ground then becomes more level and less dangerous. After a short respite in the centre of Tisental valley, the herd continues down the mountain towards Vernago/Vernagt, arriving just before 2:00 p.m. From far away (1/2 hour before it arrives) you can already see the never-ending line of sheep. Accommodation and refreshments available at the Mountain hut Martin Busch and the Refuge Similaun.

On Saturday, 13 September: On this day, about 1000 sheep return from the mountain meadows to the valley. The successful return of the animals is celebrated by farmers and guests. Tasty, typical dishes such as "Schöpsernes" are served. Sunday, 14 September: The goats return from the mountain pastures to the valley on this day and their arrival is celebrated with delicacies such as "Kitzbratl" as well as lots of good humour at the festival site.
