In this cookery course, farmer Brigitte from Avelengo reveals the recipe for a delicious Kaiserschmarrn and shows children the tricks to achieve a fluffy result on the plate, so that they can easily recreate it at home. Mario, the falconer, will gladly let you in on the secrets of the day and especially the night birds of prey, with which he has had a very special relationship for years. Which one? Open air concert by the local music band of S. Cristina. Currently the music band has 50 active members and is headed by Christian Hofer.

When walking in nature with your eyes open, you will find lots of materials that can be used to create surprising things. In the small workshop in the centre of Ortisei, pebbles, moss, seeds, wood, leaves, pinecones, and other natural materials are used to build small works of art together with the children. Thanks to this workshop with the Nature Park Ranger the creations can be taken home and remind even after the holidays what great things can be made with such simple materials and a little imagination. - Founded in 1978, the Puez-Geisler / Puez-Odle Nature Park extends to Würzjoch / Passo delle Erbe in the north, Grödner Joch / Passo Gardena in the south, Gadertal / Val Badia valley (Kampill, Untermoj / Longiarü, Antermöia) in the east and Villnößtal / Val di Funes and Grödntal / Val Gardena in the west. The northern portion of the park encompasses Aferer / Odle di Eores, Villnösser Geisler / Odle di Funes and Peitlerkofel / Sas da Pütia, while the southern portion encompasses the highlands of Gherdenacia, Sassongher, Puez (including Langental / Vallunga) and the Cir mountains. The park was enlarged in 1999 and now extends over an area of around 10,722 hectares belonging to the villages of Abtei / Badia, Corvara, Villnöss / Funes, St.Martin in Thurn / S. On this exciting adventure hike with the Stelvio miller and his Nörggele, you will learn about the life of the miller and his mill. Our trekking guide Florian will start with you from the meeting point at the parking lot in Upper Martelly Valley to an eventful day through the wonderful panoramic world of the National Park. Together with our llama boys Giacomo, Rocky, Rono, Rambo, Casper and Winnetou, who carry your backpacks in the pack saddle, Florian will lead you to the most beautiful places with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. As a certified hiking guide, he will introduce you to the local flora and fauna. Through the spotting scope you may even be able to observe some wild animals, such as deer, chamois and marmots, and thus be almost as close to them as to the national park llamas, whose soothing tranquility will make you feel calm and balanced. We will stop at one of the most beautiful view points, while you will strengthen yourself with a snack of local products from the national park and enjoy the surrounding nature. Via the Panorama Trail we return to the starting point. Another route leads us to the Lyfialm (alping pasture) with its centuries-old primeval larches on the sunny side of the Martell Valley and right to the llama enclosure, the summer quarters of the animals in Thial, nearby the biathlon center. Difference in altitude: approx. 400 m Duration: approx. 6-7 h, pure walking time (easy tour) approx. 3-4 hours Costs (snack with local products from the national park included): 60 Euro per person, 30 Euro for accompanying person The tour is suitable for experienced hikers, also for children from the age of 6 who enjoy hiking; however, they should be accompanied by another person when leading a llama. Some things are worth an early rise, even on holiday. You will be rewarded with the unique experience of an Alpine sunrise. We will take the cable car to reach an altitude of 2,000 metres and set off in the dark, experiencing how the new day arises from the silence of the night one step at a time. After an easy hike (approx 45 minutes, 110 meters elevation gain) to the Steinermandl panoramic platform, we will savour the magical moment when the first sun rays bathe the mountains in their bright light. The experience is rounded off by a stopover for refreshments at a mountain hut. The descent by cable car is available from 8:30 a.m. Warm clothing is recommended. Under the professional guidance of a state-certified mountain guide you learn the abc of climbing at the Marchegg climbing garden. Equipment is provided free of charge. You only need to bring trekking shoes or runners and comfortable clothing. Food and drinks are available in the Marchegghof tavern nearby.
