6 p.m. St. Nicholaus procession
For more than half a century, the "Nikolauskommitee Schlanders" has been introducing the old South Tyrolean tradition of St. Nicholas parade. Passing the retirement home and the hospital, St. Nicholas runs with his carriage through the center to the Plawennpark, where the celebration ends.
From 2 pm more than 100 "Krampus" are around in the pedestrian Zone of Silandro.
From 5 pm St. Nicholas parade
Every year, the traditional St. Nicholas procession takes place in Sterzing on the evening of December 5th. While Knecht Rupprecht and the Moors help St. Nicholas distribute the presents, the “Tuifl” (Krampus) use their rods to keep order. Originally, the custom was used in early winter to scare off threats from the spirits of darkness and frost.
The traditional procession begins at 6 p.m. and moves from the north through the old town, across the town square, through the Zwölferturm tower and into the new town. In the afternoon, St. Nicholas makes a number of house visits, during which he is also accompanied by the Tuifl.
The arrival of St Nicholas takes on a special charm among children and is part of our traditions during the Christmas season.
Our children await St Nicholas who will bring them a sweet surprise.
Welschnofen/Nova Levante, Dolomites Region Eggental
The traditional Krampus run in Welschnofen | Nova Levante has been an integral part of the event culture in the Eggental valley for many years. On December 5, 2025, starting at 7:00 p.m., the Schuffatuifl Welschnofen will organize a small yet impressive parade for young and old alike. Along the route between the pharmacy and the church square, wild figures will make their appearance to drive away evil spirits and everything that takes away the festive spirit of the Christmas season.
The gift from St. Nicholas is a gift for everyone – a surprise for the whole village. Bilingual reading (Italian + German) for children aged 4 and above.
On December 5th, as soon as it gets dark, St. Nicholas accompanied by his angels and his servant Ruprecht crosses the streets of the village and enters the homes of children, bringing them gifts, praising them or reproaching them if necessary. St. Nicholas is also accompanied by several devils (Krampus), but they do not have permission to enter the house and will wait out side the door.

Mulled wine is Christmas in the glass. Especially at Christmas time, when the spicy taste of the mulled wine warms hands, body and heart and lets you enjoy the festive atmosphere even more.
The Christmas market in Corvara comes alive with live music, where local artists delight us with sweet Christmas melodies.
What a charming atmosphere! It’s the perfect moment to sip a warm mulled wine or apple mix while exploring the handcrafted products and letting the magic of the holiday tunes music you.
As you stroll through the small wooden huts, glowing with warm lights and festively decorated, you’ll be enveloped by an inviting atmosphere. The scent of hot mulled wine and delicious treats invites you to pause and enjoy the magic of the holiday season. Each hut offers unique handmade treasures that showcase the craftsmanship of local artisans.
A highlight of the market is the impressive life-sized nativity scene, lovingly carved by the sculptor Leo Moroder. Every year, new figures are added, making this artwork a vibrant symbol of the most beautiful Christmas traditions.
And when live music fills the air between the snow-covered huts, the market becomes even more enchanting. On certain evenings, concerts create a truly special festive atmosphere.
Last year, for every cup of mulled wine sold, €1.00 was donated to Aiüt Alpin Dolomites, raising a total of €3,000 in support of the valuable work of the mountain rescue team.
This year, the initiative continues, with the proceeds being donated to another local association, sharing the magic of Christmas through solidarity.

Today he awaits you, accompanied by his little angels, to give you a small gift.
