Experience the “Almabtrieb” in Terento! The ceremonial driving of cattle and sheep from the green pastures back to their home farms and warm barns is a long-standing tradition in Terento. For over 100 cows, calves and sheep this event marks the end of their stay in altitude where they enjoyed the fresh mountain air, tasty grass and cool nights. The animals are adorned with bells, wreaths, fresh flowers and ornate whetstone holders and they are driven down the valley by their herders. Plünderfuhren (procession floats), Goaslkrocha (whip crackers), Schuhplattlern (folk dancers) und and musical entertainment.

The multi-coloured autumn leaves and trees invites you with sweet ripe apples, beckon visitors to visit the Natz-Schabs High Apple Plateau. For a week in autumn, everything revolves around the apple, giving rise to a series of events. The Apple Festival is held on the second Sunday in October and is the climax of the autumn celebrations in Natz. The highlight is a big parade and the awarding of the Apple Queen title.

The festival will begin at 11 a.m. at the elementary school of Avigna. There will be a lots of tasty local delicacies with roasted chestnuts.

The Gollimarkt is a traditional market that takes place on October 16 (St. Gallus' Day) in the center of Mals. From the centre of Barbiano/Eisacktal we hike in the direction of the ‘Trimm Dich Weg’, past the sports zone to ‘Bad Dreikirchen’, with its three unique chapels built next to each other. We walk along the easy forest path to the ‘Briol’ inn and on to the upper (45 m high) and lower waterfall (85 m high), the highest point of the hike. Now it's downhill and back to the starting point. The traditional Sterzing farmers' market ends with the Sterzing harvest festival on the town square. The Jenesier chestnut farmers invite you to the "Keschtnmorkt" in the village center of Jenesien. They await the guests with all kinds of delicacies related to chestnuts, good things from the autumn farmer's kitchen and naturally roasted chestnuts as well as home-grown wines and homemade juices of all kinds.

Dieser führt uns mäßig steil zum schönen Ort Vellau. Neben der Bergstation des Sesselliftes kehren wir in einem gemütlichen Lokal zur Stärkung ein und genießen den Blick in den Vinschgau. The KFS (family association) is organising a small St. Martin's Day celebration on 11th November. Meeting point at 5.30 pm in the school yard. Followed by a candlelight parade into the church of St. Peter. The members of the family association are looking forward to many colourful lights and shining children's eyes.

On 11th November, a St Martin's procession will be organised in Teis. We will leave together with the lanterns at 5.30 pm from the church square towards the festival square. Anyone can join the procession on the way. There we will celebrate a short devotion with St Martin and end the evening with chestnuts and tea.
