Note: Due to Paul Fischnaller's advanced age, the excursion will be led by another experienced collector. Tools are provided by the museum. Hiking boots recommended. Discover the story of the South Tyrolean apple in Merano! This apple tour of Merano's fruit cooperative CAFA will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about our local fruit. After a short introductory film, you can explore the entire cooperative in the company of our apple expert Franz and follow the storage, sorting, packaging and shipping of the South Tyrolean apple. Our apple expert will let you in on all kinds of secrets about our apples' goodness, the varieties and how best to store them at home. To round off the tour there is a brief apple tasting session. During the colourful autumn, families interested in nature learn in a playful way about the forest and its inhabitants together with a biologist on a walk around St. Magdalena: Which trees grow in Villnöss valley? Temporary exhibition: A tu per tu - Ritratti dalle collezioni The allure of the portrait as a representation of a subject captured in their essence, whether inner or symbolic, has not gone unnoticed by the Museum Society since the very beginning of its activity, recurring throughout its history: from 1896, the year of its first exhibition, to 1989, with the show Bozner Porträts von 1800 bis heute (Bolzano Portraits from 1800 to Today), and up to the portraits featured in the exhibition Altes Neues. Antico Nuovo, which between 2023 and 2024 enriched the final months of cultural offerings at the Civic Museum before its necessary closure to obtain fire safety certification. With the completion of the renovation works that brought the building up to current regulations, and while awaiting further structural interventions aimed at restoring the entire building, the Civic Museum resumes this fascination by presenting a temporary exhibition featuring a selection of works—some previously exhibited, others never before shown to the public due to recent restoration or recent acquisition. In respect of the rotation principle that the new displays will follow, the works, drawn from the Museum’s collections, were selected according to the portrait type, focusing along the exhibition path on four thematic areas: family portraits, individual portraits, portraits and self-portraits of artists, and portraits of figures with important roles in the city. Whether official representatives, rulers, or simply citizens, many of the depicted individuals have a specific historical connection to Bolzano; all bear witness to a particular era of the city, spanning, through an interesting variety of styles, a time period from the 16th century to the second half of the 20th century.

The 73rd edition of the Trento Film Festival in Bolzano is realized with the contribution of the City of Bolzano and the support of the Culture Office. The 2025 edition will take place in two distinct moments-June and October-and will adopt a mode spread over the city. The program of events, made possible thanks to valuable collaborations in the area, will take place in different locations and will be aimed at heterogeneous audiences.

The Alpine adventure trail is considered one of the most beautiful sections of the Merano High Mountain Trail and offers unique views of the mountain giants of the Texel Group. An adventure for the whole family! Participants can experience the thrill of wild water on the Adige River in specially rafts, guided by professional instructors from the outdoor activity organization "Acquaterra". A shuttle service will bring our guests from Algund Town Hall to Kastelbell in the Vinschgau Valley, the starting point of the tour.

Departure in Barbiano/Village Square at 9.30am and return from the parking lot "Huber Kreuz" at 4.30pm. The ticket for the round trip is free with the South Tyrol Guest Pass for members of the Tourist Association Chiusa, Barbiano, Velturno and Villandro and for non-members € 8.00. The Alpe di Barbiano is a perfect starting point for lovely hiking tours to the Corno del Renon, the most beautiful viewpoint of South Tyrol. The ascent to Sas dla Para above the Fodara Vedla hut at 2,460 m offers a breathtaking view up to Cortina d’Ampezzo. Observe the shimmering roofs of the houses in the distance and experience the feeling of freedom, like the Alpine choughs dancing in the rhythm of the wind over your heads.

Our trekking guide Florian - called Llamero in South America - welcomes you in the llama paradise and gives you an insight into the basics of llama keeping as well as the habits and characteristics of these friendly animals. After some exercises in the obstacle course, we will walk together with our llama boys Giacomo, Rocky, Rono, Rambo, Casper and Winnetou through the meadows and forests of the national park and you may let yourselves be touched by their calmness and good-naturedness while you lead them on the leash. Llamas are called the dolphins of the pasture and you will sense it. If desired (at an extra charge), the adults can relax in the llama paradise after the tour until the sausages are ready on the barbecue and the little ones can play archery and games in the Indian teepee. The llamas will watch you and continue to be close to you while snacking on their well-deserved reward. And of course, there will be enough time for photos and videos with our llama troop. Height difference: approx. 150 m Costs: 30 euros/person, 85 euros per family, 20 euros per person who does not lead a llama during the trek, possibility of a barbecue (with sausage, bread and drink) after the tour in the llama enclosure - with surcharge depending on the number of participants. Adventurous hours await our visitors in the Llama Paradise in the Upper Martell Valley, the summer quarters of the National Park New World camelids. Here you can get to know these gentle, curious animals, get very close to them while petting, combing and feeding them and, if you wish, lead them yourself on a leash through the meadows and forests of the National Park during a short trekking walk after instruction in the obstacle course. Smaller children may lead a llama on a leash in the secured area. Indian feeling in the tipi tent is on top. Of course there will be enough time for photos and videos with our loving ‘long-necks’. Meeting a llama is an unforgettable experience for young and old. At Tholerhof, both young and old, have the opportunity to gain their first riding experiences and get a feel for sitting in the saddle of these fascinating and powerful Haflinger horses and Shetland ponies. After riding, children can help with grooming and taking care of the horses. For more experienced riders, Tholerhof offers great rides in the forest around Aschbach. From high up on the horse, you'll see the surroundings from a more impressive perspective.

Shuttle to the Nörderberg mountain – parking lot Kreuzbrünnl: Not in the mood for the narrow and steep mountain roads in South Tyrol? Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday a shuttle bus will take you from Naturns directly to the Kreuzbrünnl parking lot, starting point for wonderful hikes to the alpine pastures of the Nörderberg mountain, the Monte S. Vigilio or the mountain station of the Aschbach cable car. Alternatively, a shuttle from Kreuzbrünnl will take you back to Naturns. The return trip must be booked separately. Special exhibition: CALDERA, living with the supervolcano 280 million years ago, a supervolcano was located in the center of what is now the Trentino-South Tyrol region. Powerful porphyry layers still bear witness to its activity, while the rock formations in between tell of long periods of dormancy during which plants and animals settled. Fossils, animal models, and a simulation of the supervolcano make this distant world tangible in the Nature Park Visitor Center. Free admission; reservation not necessary.
