On weekly organized llama treks you have the chance to experience llamas close-up and live. On this exciting and fun family activity you take the llamas on a hike along the Educational Trail. At the Earth Pyramids the tour stops for a picnic with speck and snacks, and then returns back to Soprabolzano.

Val dl‘Ert (Art Valley), is a outdoor exhibition with the sculptures of the last editions of the SMACH art competition. Going up from the castle Museum Ladin after about 200 m take the path on the left that crosses the woods and that takes you to the Val dl‘Ert after about 1 km.
This educational extends through larch woods and mountain meadows at the foot of the Nature Park Fanes–Senes–Braies between the farms Rü and Rüdeferia. At the Rüdeferia farm, you can admire a recently restored water mill, which is now in perfect working order again.
All along the trail, you find information signs and cards giving the main details of some of the types of plants and shrubs and boards carrying information on the area’s flora, fauna and geology.
The "Wurzelweg" is a steep, almost vertical path in a beautiful mountain forest in the Stelvio National Park. The wooden sculptures along the path were installed by Toni Reinstadler in 2010. The path leads to the Orso/Langenstein mountain station, overcoming 400 meters in altitude.
The valley end of Solda/Sulden forms a particularly fascinating natural scenery due to its exposure and wilderness at 2000 m above sea level. Forest, pastures, scree, glaciers, rocks and torrents shape the appearance. This wild and romantic beauty provided the inspiration for the responsible persons to create offers, which gives the locals and guests the opportunity to experience the valley of Solda in an intensively natural way. Therefore, the idea was born to build a water and nature facility, a suspension bridge and an adventure path in the middle of the Stelvio National Park, under the name "NATURAronda", which means to make a tour in nature and enables a mental and physical well-being. The Naturaronda consists of the bear bath, EVOPÄD and the suspension bridge.
The Four Churches Trail leads through the diverse natural and cultural landscape of the Pustertal plateau of the central mountain range. The churches of St. Valentin in Greinwalden/Grimaldo, St. Cyriak in Pfalzen/Falzes, St. Nikolaus in Issing/Issengo and St. Johannes in Haselried represent special signposts. These places of energy also offer spiritual impulses for the way ahead.

The entire family can actively participate in the adventures and earn valuable points that will help with specific reforestation of the woods. The Secret of the Venetian - Audio game hike: 2 hours, 1.4 km (trail nr. 22, LATEMAR.PANORAMA). Toni and Klara, the Jörglhof siblings, are once again on the road with you, entertaining you with a legend from their homeland, the Latemar puppets. Fascinated, you are looking at the mountain peaks of the Latemar, to recognize in them the puppets of the Venetian, when you hear a voice "I, too, am looking for my knife! Help me and I will reward you richly!". Startled, you whirl around, between the bushes there is an old man who seems to have sprung from the legend you just heard. In search of the lost knife, you land in the middle of the legendary world of the Latemar. There are tricky puzzles to be solve, the evil witch Langwerda to be escaped and many dangers to be overcome.
The sun, in the dialect "Sunn", is the all-determining force on the Vinschger Sonnenberg. It heats up the rocks and bathes the landscape in its golden light. Wonderful starting points alternate with curious, exciting and unexpected insights into the secrets of a sensitive balance of natural forces.

The Oberholz hut at the mountain station of the chairlift "Oberholz" can act as starting- or endpoint of a hike. With its modern architecture, the unique location and the 360° panoramic terrace, the Oberholz hut is a true highlight.

Tourism is one of the most important sectors of the economy of the valley. Its history is closely linked to the flourishing of alpinism. For this reason, alpinism and tourism trails are interacted, both kinds of trails will result in a worthwhile day trip. The development of tourism was strongly influenced by Dr. Josef Daimer (1845-1909), the community of Sand in Taufer’s physician. He was co-founder of the village’s Improvement Society and saw to it that mountain trails and shelters were built. Another milestone was the art of healing by Dr. Anton Mutschlechner, who attracted many guests from all over the world to the area thus developing tourism and eventually leading to the construction of the lifts on Speikboden, which enhanced the development of winter tourism. Numerous infrastructures followed suit, the newest of which is the indoor and outdoor pools at the Cascade with its saunas and wonderful landscaped setting. The trail gives us insight into the development of tourism in the valley from the past to the present days with display boards and symbols along the way. Trail conditions : forest roads and paths. The Via Monachorum, also referred to as “Silentium“ (Path of tranquillity) connects the villages of Madonna di Senales/Unser Frau and Monte S. Caterina/Katharinaberg with Certosa/Karthaus. There was a historic monastery there, founded by the Carthusian monks in the 14th century. Dressed in their white robes, the monks lived in silence. Some large parts of the monastery walls have been preserved, as are the Gothic cloister and the former monastery kitchen. There are a number of plaques along this themed trail with philosophical quotations relating to tranquillity and silence. The trail is signposted using life-sized figures of monks.

Vaia’s Wrath - Audio game hike: about 2 hours, 2.5 km (trail nr. 9, LATEMAR.ALP). Last night, hurricane Vaia roared through the Latemar region, leaving behind a landscape of devastation. Pale and sleepy, Toni turns off the radio. Your family is currently spending the fall vacations on Toni’s parents’ farm, the Jörgelhof. You are just sitting with a cup of tea when Toni’s sister Klara storms into the parlor - her beloved calf Peppi is gone! You quickly gather the most important equipment and set off in search for the lost animal – through the completely devastated forest landscape. Fallen trees, raging streams – many dangerous and tricky situation are awaiting you and you must master them.
The cable car Ratschings-Jaufen takes you from Bichl/Colle to the mountain station. From there you can hike along the Ratschinger Almenweg to the mountain pasture Wasserfalleralm and further on to the mountain hut Saxnerhütte.
The path starts at the base of the castle hill opposite the parish church of Mareit/Mareta, leads north facing to untouched forest territories near the creek of Mareit and ends west of the castle at its pond. On this path have been set up different natural “stations”, where the visitors – especially interesting for children – can get in touch with nature. From the brookside to bar, forest and meadows, water and mossy soils, from the ant hill to small ponds, the forest telephone and a pavilion made of different wood types – various adventure-worlds are available. Get in contact with nature on soft mossy soil! Experience nature up close, with all your senses!

From the parking lot in Kuens/Caines proceed along the Hochübel road taking the Riffianer Waalweg trail before arriving at the Sanctuary of the Sorrowful Holy Mother (Wallfahrtskirche Zu den Sieben Schmerzen Mariens) in Riffian/Rifiano. For the devoted, the pilgrimage to Rifiano is a well-trodden destination, with over 700 pilgrims visiting to date. The seven stations retrace Mary’s path, Her Seven Dolors portrayed on the ornamentation around the miraculous image at the main church altar.
In winter some sections of the route may be covered in snow or ice.
The path is not suitable for pushchairs.
Earth Pyramids, a wonder of nature. The Renon Earth Pyramids are the highest and the most aesthetically pleasing in Europe. Earth pyramids are a phenomenon of erosion. They originate where ice-age glaciers have deposited moraine clay in valleys. When it is dry, it is rock-hard. If it comes into contact with water, it turns into a clayey pulp that flows down into the valley. However, when protected from the rain by large stones, the clay remains dry and hard. Only the part around the stone erodes. This is how earth columns are formed and become higher each time it rains. If the top stone falls off the peak, the column is certainly doomed to a quick decline because the clay is exposed to the rain and then carried away by it. The earth pyramids in the valley of the Rio Gasterer at Auna di Sotto have a special grey colour.
The pine forest “Kultur”, the unique torrential stream landscape of the River Solda and dry floodlands of the “Prader Sand” can be experienced via three loop roads with a total length of 4.8 km. 19 interactive stations as well as information tables offer fun and sensory experiences. The loop roads can be walked separately or combined.
The old church-path from Tanas to the church of St. Peter became a way of calm and quiet. The meditation trail leads from Tanas to the church of St. Peter, with 4 wooden sculptures of the artist Ruth Schönthaler and offers a great view over the central Venosta Valley and the mountains of the Ortler group.
