The stormy night of Vaia left a trail of destruction across the Latemar forest – and it's the dramatic setting for this immersive family adventure: “Vaia’s Wrath” is an exciting audio trail that tells a story of bravery, teamwork and resilience in nature.
Join siblings Toni and Klara on the search for their lost calf Peppi, who vanished after the storm. But the forest is no longer peaceful: fallen trees, rushing streams and tricky challenges await you on the path.
Through the use of a free app, a narrated audio story, a fun adventure booklet and interactive puzzle stations, children aged 6 to 14 dive into a thrilling tale while discovering the power of the forest. Along the way, they also collect points that contribute to reforesting the area.
A magical hike full of action, learning and unforgettable moments.
The starting point of this tour is located at the top station of the Ochsenweide gondola lift in Obereggen at an altitude of around 1,830 meters. From there, the trail [9]– the LATEMAR.ALP – leads towards the Weigler Schupf hut. Up to this intermediate destination, numerous playgrounds and interactive stations line the path, inviting visitors to linger. The route then continues across picturesque alpine meadows to the Ganischgeralm and Zischgalm mountain huts.
Along the entire route, hikers can expect:
Interactive stations with QR codes to easily activate the individual sections of the audio drama via smartphone
Exciting riddle and adventure stations specially designed for children
Beautifully presented information about the region's eventful history
Special viewpoints that invite hikers to pause and offer a look at the fascinating natural landscape shaped by Storm Vaia
The return journey follows the same route. At the starting point by the top station, a cozy place for refreshments and a large playground provide the perfect setting to bring the excursion to a relaxed close.
