This year we celebrate the very first edition of the Bread Festival, an event dedicated to one of the simplest and most treasured foods of our tradition. The event will be hosted by the local mountain huts and businesses of La Crusc / Santa Croce. In the days leading up to the festival, there will be special moments. The festival day itself on Sunday will culminate in a joyful celebration with typical dishes, music, encounters and workshops for both children and adults, all centered around bread and the traditions that surround it. A warm and inclusive event, open to all – a moment to reconnect with the land, with craftsmanship, and with each other. During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.

For a long time, the chestnut was considered a “bread tree”, which mainly served as food for the poorer people. In the Eisacktal valley, the chestnut still has a special significance today, and the “Keschtnweg”, which starts at the Neustift monastery and stretches a total of 90 km to Vilpian, is known far beyond Brixen. Our hike starts in Klausen and takes us to Säben Monastery and then further along the Keschtnweg trail to Felthurns. We can stop for refreshments at the Buschenschank Huber (not included) before visiting Velthurns Castle (admission € 6.00, to be paid on site; children accompanied by an adult free of charge). "A well-rounded experience" - preparing original South Tyrolean dumplings Experience a guided panoramic hike over the Platschjoch to the rustic Ungererhof in Schluppes, where we prepare original South Tyrolean dumplings together. Walter will show you the right way to shape the dumplings. Afterwards, we will taste the delicious traditional dish together. You will receive the recipe and a cooking apron, so that you can make this classic South Tyrolean dish at home. Drinks are not included in the price!

Exploring Bolzano: a cultural journey with Speck tasting. A unique culinary experience to discover the historic center of Bolzano and South Tyrol’s Speck g.g.A., one of the region’s most renowned quality products. The Speck Safari is offered in collaboration with the South Tyrol Speck Consortium and provides a dual experience: First, a city guide takes the group through the old town of Bolzano, sharing fascinating stories and insights about the city’s history. Afterward, the participants meet with the Speck Ambassador, who introduces them to the world of South Tyrolean Speck. The ambassador explains the history, production methods, and quality guidelines of the famous Speck. Guest in Stelvio A day to discover, enjoy, amaze Stray market Saturday 14.09.2024 from 9-17 pm. Stelvio, the small, charming village on the steep hillside, with its winding stone houses, narrow alleys, and stairways, invites you to experience craftsmanship up close. Many small studios and private workshops open their doors for one day only, providing insights into both traditional and contemporary craftsmanship. Exquisite products will be available for purchase. Throughout the village, visitors can watch artisans at work. Additionally, a carefully selected supporting program places craftsmanship at the center: a wide culinary offering, musical contributions, a creative workshop for children, and a show kitchen.

The return of the sheep from the summer pastures of the Ötztal Valley to the Schnalstal Valley has a long traditional story. The restaurants invite to the popular speciality weeks around the local sheep. From the local farmer, finest meat of sheep ends up on the plates of the guests. Rustic, traditional, refined, modern or re-created – there is the right enjoyment experience for every palate. Sustainability, nature and locality are not a trend in the Schnalstal Valley, but a way of life. The Schnalstal Valley has been since 2021 a Slow Food Presidium. Slow Food is a project that brings together more than 5000 unique food products from all over the world.

The annual highlight of the summer season is the legendary Fane Festival. The festival continues to be a wonderful meeting place where old and young, locals and travellers come together to celebrate. Traditionally, the festival opens at 10.30 am with a field mass, after which the aroma of delicious delicacies wafts around the alpine huts: traditional farmhouse dishes such as various dumplings, Kasnockn, Tirtlan and all kinds of strudel are on the menu at the Fane Fest, and rarely are these delicacies prepared as authentically as here.

Celebrate with us the Wasserfalleralm Festival on Sunday, September 7th! The Wasserfalleralm in the Ratschings-Jaufen hiking area is easily accessible by the modern cable car and a leisurely hike. Look forward to a day full of traditional atmosphere – with live music, stunning mountain scenery, and regional delights! Enjoy specialties such as "Schöpsernes" (roast lamb), "Blattler" with sauerkraut, and many other South Tyrolean delicacies.

Our events combines music and enjoyment in the village centre. Visitors can also expect a tasting of alpine and mediterranean delicacies during a traditional concert by our local music bands.

The plum of Barbiano/Barbian is in the center of this guided walking-tour. Enjoy the unforgettable hike at the bright side of Barbian while we guide you through the plum trees. Meeting point at 10 a.m. at the Information Office Barbian. Hiking time: 3,5 hours, return at approx. 4 p.m., easy-medium hike. Good footwear and rain shelter are needed. Route: Hike along the Plum Path trail and continue to Kollmann, stopping at the "Oberweger". Return to Barbian. For members of the Tourist Association Klausen, Barbian, Feldthurns and Villanders the hiking is free, for non-members it costs 8,00€ per person. Knödel are not just dumplings, they are the ultimate South Tyrolean dish and no one knows this better than Franzi. At the Lechnerhof she creates them with the guests and shows them what must be included in the traditional food and dispels many culinary legends. Spinach, cheese, beetroot - different types of dumplings are prepared and, of course, tasted together. And the recipes? You can take them with you to become the king of the kitchen back home.

Our events is entirely dedicated to the Tyrolean sounds of our local music bands. On some evenings, visitors can also enjoy performances by our traditional Bavarian folk dance, folk dance groups and the men's choir.

Once a week, things get cill and relaxed: In Riffian/Rifiano or Kuens/Caines, a favourite pub becomes a stage for live sounds and relaxed evenings. Including: the acoustic trio ‘Coffee Cult’, which provides goosebump moments with cill arrangements and warm voices. Music that gets under your skin, an atmosphere that connects.

What makes the fish from the Passeiertal Valley so special? Where does the fish actually come from? And how is it raised? You’ll find out all this – and much more – during an exciting guided tour of the traditional Schiefer fish farm. For over 120 years, fish have been bred here with great passion and expertise – primarily trout, char, and grayling. The focus is mainly on restocking natural waters, but also on providing high-quality fish for regional cuisine. During the tour, you’ll learn more about breeding, the facility, feeding, and the delicate balance between tradition, biodiversity, and sustainability. Stefan will take you into the fascinating underwater world and share exciting insights into his daily work. And of course, enjoyment is not to be missed: at the end of the tour, you’ll have the chance to taste fresh fish specialties. An evening concert with the brass bands or Bohemian bands from the Passeiertal Valley. Between the music pieces, insights into the traditions and life in the valley are shared. An evening where music takes center stage, while at the same time, more about the Passeiertal Valley can be learned.

We will open the beehive together and tell you all about the importance of bees for nature and how they produce honey and wax. At the end of the tour, we will taste the liquid gold together. Autumn pleasures: Strudel hike - discover the secrets of the South Tyrolean dish With hiking guide Paula we set off from the village centre in Seis to St.Oswald. A short stop will be made at the Puntschiederhof farm, where we can taste apple juice and apples. We continue our hike to the restaurant St. Oswald, where we are shown how to prepare the traditional South Tyrolean apple strudel. Afterwards we will taste it together. On September 6, 2025, the 21st edition of the DYNAFIT Transalpine Run powered by Garmin will start in Lech am Arlberg (Austria), taking participants on a seven-day journey across the Alps – through Austria and Switzerland to South Tyrol’s Lake Reschen. This year, we have the special honor of hosting the finish line of the final stage on the 12th of september: Graun, with its world-famous church tower emerging from the lake. In total, the route across three countries covers 243 kilometers and 15,135 meters of elevation gain
