    Barbarossa Trail
    Latsch/Laces, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

The new Barbarossa trail at Laces’ Monte Tramontana guarantees pure trail fun for everyone (S2). The uphill starts in Laces and requires good physical condition due to challenging climbs and a difference in altitude of 1300m. Alternatively, you can take the chairlift to comfortably reach Malga di Tarres (Laces – valley station of the chair lift: difference in altitude of 600m). Having arrived at Malga di Tarres, you can enjoy a wonderful view and look forward to the flowing descent on the new Barbarossa Trail that owes its name to “trail builder and doctor” Gabriel Tappeiner. This trail with a length of 4.5 km and a difference in altitude of 600 m winds through the dense forest and lets cyclists’ hearts beat faster thanks to beautiful cross passages and different curves.

    Plamortböden Tour
Graun im Vinschgau/Curon Venosta, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
From Reschen go north towards the Austrian border. Just 500 m before the valley station of the Bergkastel cable car (Nauders), take a sharp right along a fairly steep gravel road to the mountain station. Stop for refreshments in the Bergkastel mountain restaurant. Here starts the most beautiful part of the tour: return to the ascent path to the Bergkastelalpe and continue to the left to the high moorland of Plamortböden and the anti-tank barrages that are also well known across the border. From here on use the forest road or the beautifully laid out trails (S2). After passing the barriers, the view opens up over the Vinschgau Valley with its unique lake landscape from the vantage point on the rock. With a breathtaking view descend to Reschen: on the technical and partly more demanding Bunker Trail (no. 101, S2), with the subsequent Etsch Trail (no. 102, S1) leading into the forest, or on the forest road to Reschen. Once back there, enjoy a typical aperitif.

    Grün - Schwarzsee Lake Tour
Graun im Vinschgau/Curon Venosta, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
From Reschen old village - Altdorf, we head straight towards the Vallierteck Chapel and continue towards the Rescher Alm car park. At the car parking, turn right and follow the uphill gravel path to the alpine pasture with repeated great views of the lake landscape. At the Rescher Alm, enjoy traditional delicacies, including Kaiserschmarren, before continuing on the gravel and forest path, crossing the three-way border point in a northerly direction to the 3-Länder Enduro Trail. First on a meadow path, then narrower and partly more challenging, this trail leads from the open terrain into the forest to the Grünsee lake. After a short crank passage, reach the Schwarzsee lake. The way from Grünsee to Schwarzsee lake is technically rather arduous. Join per bike the Schwarzsee lake also using the forest road. To go back downhill to the valley, there are more choices: via forest road, or using the old "Tiefen Sommerweg'' (S1-S2, partly rough) or the family trail (no. 70, S1) to Nauders. Enduro Trail lovers continue on the 3-Länder Trail and forest road to reach Nauders and the Bergkastel valley station via the Oberer Gerry Trail (no. 69, S2) or part of the Kreuzmoos Trail (no. 68, S2) as well as the Familytrail. Once reached the valley, take the cycle path to the Reschen Pass over the border, back to the starting point.

    Roatbrunn Trail
    Latsch/Laces, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

One of the top trails in Laces – very flowing at the beginning with more demanding passages towards the end of the trail.

Start at the Malga di Laces mountain hut and take the forest road towards Töbrunn. Take trail no. 4 at the wayside and cross after 1km. There is a short, steep passage before you follow the beautiful, flowing forest floor trail until the forest road. Cross it and continue on the flowing trail passing by the eponymous Roatbrunn (red fountain). After a short stretch on the Malga di Tarres forest road you get to the next section which meets the Malga di Tarres trail after some 800m. Cross the moss-green forest on slightly washed out passages, easy steps and super forest floor trails. Towards the end the trail becomes more demanding until you get to the Ramini irrigation channel path.

    Sellaronda MTB tour - clockwise
    Corvara, Dolomites Region Alta Badia

Spectacular Dolomite peaks and legendary mountain passes: The Sellaronda is one of the most beautiful and popular circular routes in the Alps and offers all kinds of exciting options in winter or in summer. One of these is the Sellaronda mountain biking tour. The tour requires a good level of physical fitness and mountain biking experience, because there are some tricky climbs and a few difficult descents to manage. However, for the last few years there has been the option of avoiding some of the particularly steep climbs by using lifts, making it possible to complete the tour in a day.

Thanks to several chairlifts and cablecars the height difference to ride up by bike is relatively small in the clockwise route of the Sellaronda MTB TOUR. There are several descents on bike trails, which require a medium level of bike practice. The time needed to complete the tour varies according the ability of the biker: generally from 5 to a maximum of 9 hours, lunch break included.

Old Railway Line Bike Tour (Alte Bahntrasse)

This bike tour follows the trackbed of the former Fleimstalbahn railway, which was built during the First World War, serving primarily to transport goods until 1936. It began in Ora/Auer and ran to the town of Predazzo. The stretch from Ora to San Lugano is still in good condition and is easy to ride. The bike tour leads through historic villages, wonderful vineyards - right through the Pinot Noir heart of Pinzon/Pinzano and through Auer/Ora, the home of the Lagrein - the wonderful mountain landscape of the Trudner Horn/Monte Corno Nature Park and is particularly rewarding because of the unique view of the South Tyrolean lowlands.

    Kaltern Bike MTB-Tour: Panoramic round
Kaltern an der Weinstraße/Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino, The South Tyrolean Wine Road

This tour includes a number of fabulous lookout spots where you can enjoy an unparalleled view of Kaltern / Caldaro and the surrounding vineyards. At the same time, you are guaranteed plenty of wonderfully relaxing time in the forest. However, you'll probably be focusing on fun riding technique for most of the time, which leaves little time for contemplating the view. After completing the ascent from Kaltern – a short segment along the Mendel Pass Road, continuing over a long gravel trail – you will commence the extensive trail passage: At first, you will proceed over a bumpy, rocky path which will require even practiced cyclists to fully concentrate on the trail. But after just 300 meters, you'll have overcome this steep groove and can take a sharp right turn into a trail. This is a narrow, smooth path which in part winds its way through the forest. This trail possesses a lot of "flow," as cyclists say, and you will simply glide over the mostly leaf-covered path as you negotiate the many bends and little hairpin curves. It's like a rollercoaster ride – only more pleasant! Following this fantastic segment of the trail, you'll finally reach a gravel trail. After you cross the Mendel / Mendola funicular tunnel, you'll return to a trail. This trail winds its way along level or slightly uphill terrain as you slowly ascend the slope and reach another gravel road which will take you to the Ziegelstadel; signposts mark this as the Kaltern High-Altitude Trail. From here, you can take charming paths either uphill or downhill. A short side-trip to Tramin / Termeno, and then the trail continues to Lake Caldaro – the perfect place for a cool dip in hot summer months! After you've refreshed yourself, you'll have to undertake the obligatory 180 meters of altitude differential on the bicycle trail up to Kaltern. Once you've arrived here, what better way to conclude your successful tour than with a glass of wine at the town square?

Variants: You can continue straight and follow the Mendel Pass Road and try the "Penegal" or "Malga Romeno" tours.

Mustn't be missed: The Mendel / Mendola funicular, Lake Caldaro, and the beautiful panorama of the vineyards and fruit orchards.

Kaltern Bike MTB-Tour: Kalterer Höhenweg nach Altenburg
Kaltern an der Weinstraße/Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino, The South Tyrolean Wine Road

This is a pleasant roundtrip circuit that will help to acquaint you with the vicinity. It's not quite 20 km long, and will provide you with a good impression of the experience of biking around the Kaltern / Caldaro area. This tour includes beautiful, flowing forest trails interrupted only by charming little lookout points where you can enjoy some wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and Lake Caldaro.

As the name of this route implies, the High-Altitude Trail will first take you uphill from Kaltern. You'll have to manage about 500 meters of altitude differential at the very start. From the town's central market square, you will ascend "through the villages" (the parts of town at higher elevations) – namely: Pfuss and St. Niklaus – up to the so-called "Kalterer Höhe" (high-altitude trail). From this high point, you take the Mendel Pass Road farther up to the Mendel Pass. But this main road is crossed only twice before the High-Altitude Trail really becomes true to its name in the forest and gains elevation until you cross the cableway leading to the Mendel Pass. Now comes the most-enchanting segment of this tour, as you proceed along forest paths and trails downhill until you come to the Ziegelstadel. While passing through the forest, you'll repeatedly come to little clearings where you can stop for a breather and take in the marvelous views. From the Ziegelstadel, you should now take a trail down to Altenburg, the perhaps quietest neighborhood in Kaltern. Altenburg is situated on a sun-drenched plateau above the lake, hidden behind the forest. This is the perfect opportunity for you to pause for refreshments at the Waldschenke Inn or to discover one of the stunning lookout points with a view of Lake Caldaro. The return trip from Altenburg takes you back to Kaltern, past the St. Anton Sports Center with its fun climbing facility. If you feel up to it, you might want to stop by and include a session of wall-climbing in your tour. Or, you can comfortably glide down the path to the central square of Kaltern. Once you've arrived, you might want to relax and enjoy a cup of cappuccino, or a glass of delicious Caldaro wine. What an apt way to conclude a pleasant journey through the many vineyards you've passed through on this tour!

Variants: This tour can also be combined with the "Panorama" tour – part of which runs along the same High-Altitude Trail. You thus have a number of different options to choose from.

Fanes Senes MTB Tour: beautiful, smart, invincible
Al Plan/San Vigilio, Dolomites Region Kronplatz/Plan de Corones

A heroic ride through the empire of the Ladin legend Dolasila

She was beautiful, she was brave and she was smart: Dolasila, the Princess of Fanes and a legendary warrior, led her people on the battlefields of what is today the national park Fanes Senes Prags. Her story is packed with magical creatures and glorious victories, with treachery and deceit. Ride through the setting of this Ladin national epic on the Fanes Senes-Tour.

    A Ladin Epic:

In ancient days the high plains of Fanes were ruled by a ruthless king. His beautiful daughter, however, was just the contrary. In a sign of gratitude for her compassion, the dwarfs at the Silver Lake in Canazei rewarded her with a white armour and unfailing arrows that made her invincible. After her first great battle at the Kronplatz the warrior led the Fanes people in a series of victories. Yet Dolasila was also exposed to treachery and deceit – from her enemies, but also from her own people...

In the Gardenaccia Freeride Bike Park, starting from the mountain station of the Gardenaccia chairlift at an altitude of 1,750 m, two routes have been created:
    - the first one, more difficult, is for bikers who already have good riding skills, looking for strong emotions
    - the second is easier and suitable for less experienced bikers.
The start of the bike park can be reached by taking the Gardenaccia chairlift from La Villa.

    Kaltern Bike MTB-Tour: "Cisloner Alm"
Kaltern an der Weinstraße/Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino, The South Tyrolean Wine Road

The panoramic plateau of the Cisloner Alm affords visitors marvelous views of the magnificent "Unterland" district of South Tyrol and the stunning Dolomiti di Brenta – for this reason alone, this tour is a "must-have" for every cyclist vacationing in Kaltern / Caldaro. And then there's also the initial ascent along the former Fleims / Fiemme Valley railroad line, where you will overcome about 800 meters of altitude differential with a grade of no more than six percent. This railroad line from Auer / Ora to Predazzo was built during World War I by Russian prisoners of war to transport men and matériel from the Etsch / Adige Valley to the Fleims / Fiemme Valley towards the front. After the conclusion of the war, this small railroad transported chiefly wood and passengers until it was finally shut down in the 1960s due to shrinking profitability. The only thing that remained was the perfectly established route which, today, serves as a gravel road called the "former Fleims / Fiemme Valley railroad" or "ex ferrovia." Because the locomotives back then were unable to manage a grade of more than five or six percent, this route is perfect for cyclists – you will be able to gently ascend the meters of altitude differential. As you approach Kaltenbrunn / Fontanefredde, you'll leave the railway route and proceed a short distance uphill along the road to Truden. You'll then proceed along the short, steep and partially surfaced ramp up to the Cisloner Alm. This route will take you back to Truden / Trodena. Then you'll enter a narrow side valley through which the Truden Brook flows down towards the Etsch / Adige River. As you glide through historic villages and lovely vineyards down to Neumarkt / Egna, you can enjoy the fabulous vista of the Etsch / Adige Valley. At Pinzon / Pinzano, you'll again cross the former railroad and pass under the viaduct as you arrive at the medieval village of Neumarkt with its historical center. The return trip to Kaltern is via the bicycle trail – in the afternoon, a strong southerly wind often blows, helping you to speed back to your starting-point.

Variants: You can also follow the former railroad line and attack the "Jochgrimm" tour. In Truden / Trodena, you can take a left turn and enjoy the "Kanzel" or "Trudner Horn" tours.

Mustn't be missed: The bicycle path along the former Fleims / Fiemme Valley railroad line, the lovely alpine village of Truden, the long-range panoramic vista of the "Unterland" district of South Tyrol, Kaltern / Caldaro, the majestic Monte Roen, the fabulous Mendel, and the mighty Penegal.
