Sellaronda MTB tour - clockwise

Corvara/Corvara, Corvara, Dolomites Region Alta Badia
from center

Spectacular Dolomite peaks and legendary mountain passes: The Sellaronda is one of the most beautiful and popular circular routes in the Alps and offers all kinds of exciting options in winter or in summer. One of these is the Sellaronda mountain biking tour. The tour requires a good level of physical fitness and mountain biking experience, because there are some tricky climbs and a few difficult descents to manage. However, for the last few years there has been the option of avoiding some of the particularly steep climbs by using lifts, making it possible to complete the tour in a day.

Thanks to several chairlifts and cablecars the height difference to ride up by bike is relatively small in the clockwise route of the Sellaronda MTB TOUR. There are several descents on bike trails, which require a medium level of bike practice. The time needed to complete the tour varies according the ability of the biker: generally from 5 to a maximum of 9 hours, lunch break included.

Distance 62.1 Km
Ascent 3902 m
Descent 3902 m
Highest point 2467 m
Lowest point 1431 m
Additional information

From Corvara you take the Col Alto and Braia Fraida lifts to reach the “Alta Via”, a flowing path to the Campolongo Pass. Here take the chairlift Campolongo and start the descent on another single trail to Arabba and to the next cable car Porta Vescovo. At the top the bikers can admire the scenic view of the peak of the Marmolada Glacier and the manmade Fedaia Lake. The descent down to the Fodom cablecar is a mix of steep gravel road and a challenging but flowy single trail. From the Pordoi Pass there is a long and very panoramic bike trail which leads down to Canazei. Once in Campitello take the cablecar Col Rodella. From the top station on another short descent you will reach the Sella Pass. Continue thru the “Città dei Sassi” (City of stones) to the start of the first of the two flow trails leading to Plan de Gralba. From there, another path leads back to Selva Gardena. From here, take the Gondola Lift ‘Dantercepies’. Just under the top station there is the first single trail which leads to the Gardena Pass and then continues down to Colfosco. The route then leads back to Corvara.
