Food events in South Tyrol

Three balmy summer evenings, local specialties, delicious treats and small delicacies, lively music at various locations and lots of good humor. That's the 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝘂𝘀, a very special street festival in the village center of Mitterolang. The Standlschmaus takes this year place on the 26.06.2024, 24.07.2024 & at the 28.08.2024

Activities with the ambassadors of the Ladin tradition. An experience that plunges us into an ancient world that has been kept alive by people who love their land and care for it with tenacity and dedication beyond imagination. You will not only see the farmers at work, but also help take the animals out of the stable and cut the grass with a scythe while listening to the old stories of the farm. Finally, on this historic mountain farm in Badia, you can have lunch the old-fashioned way with historical Ladin recipes prepared on the spot. Delicious! In the animal park of Colfosco, surrounded by a beautiful Dolomite wood. Local restaurants set up stands where you can enjoy Ladin specialities in street food style. Each dish has a natural element at its core: forest fruits, herbs, spices and much more. You can enjoy all this on the go, along the park path with a special program for both young and old and musical entertainment. In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to friday the 30th of August. Our events combines music and enjoyment in the village centre. Visitors can also expect a tasting of alpine and mediterranean delicacies during a traditional concert by our local music bands.

This idyllic place above La Val, inspires beautiful, pure, sensual thinking. And we fully enjoy it while tasting the sparkling wines of South Tyrol and admiring the spectacular view of the Cima Dieci and Cima Nove peaks from Prati Larcenёi in La Val. Simply great! Tasting and sale of typical specialties such as olive oil, semi-dried tomatoes, olives, artichokes etc.

Discover the WineCulturePath of Marlengo. From the village centre, it leads along quiet village streets via the numerous wine farms. Along the way you can find information panels about the history and culture of wine as well as giant-size items used in winegrowing. After the walk follows a wine-tasting. The event takes place in German or Italian language. Reservation until wednesday, 5 p.m. Price: 18 € per person.

During a guided exploratory walk through the vineyards with winegrower Michl, you will learn everything you need to know about wine: from its history, to care measures, varieties and marketing. At the end of the exploration you can taste South Tyrolean wines and thus get to know the aromas and tastes of the region.

Today you will have the opportunity to learn and taste the coffee "Caroma" of Völs am Schlern. Time: 3 pm. - 6 p.m.

Every Friday, herbal experts Sieglinde, Renate and Maria organise outdoor workshops along the herb promenade in Welschnofen | Nova Levante. The topics of the workshops are as varied as nature itself and vary from week to week. Summer encounters for young and old Musical and culinary delights in the Mals pedestrian zone Theme: Saving the best for last Organised by the Mals church choir with musical entertainment by the group Walter & Felix There will be a great supporting programme, as well as a children's programme with the VKE Mals.

Join us on Friday, 30 August for the musical village round. The Restaurant Löwenwirt (music 6:30 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.) and the Pizzeria Pircher (music 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.) will ensure a good mood with delicious dishes food, while pleasant mood music creates a cosy atmosphere that invites you to linger and enjoy.

It's hard to imagine the MTB calendar without the cult event, and in 2024 the racers will be serving up an even more festive menu: At the Trail Hunt in Val Gardena on 31th of August, enduro fans will battle it out on a completely new course with four tricky challenges. For the 2-person and 3-person teams (incl. separateE-MTB classification), one fantastic trail follows the next on the Sellaronda and in the enduro mecca of Canazei. We definitely can't get enough of what Mother Nature serves us in the middle of the Dolomites. But we can eat our tasty dumplings that are on the menu at the end of the day at the dumpling festival - with live music, lots of cool prizes and, of course, the Golden Giant Dumpling, which is won by the team with the best average time. BUT first you have to find all the checkpoints with smart tactics, good orientation and maximum fun and pass the four dumpling challenges. With a view of the Sellagroup, the Sassolungo massif and the majestic Marmolada, the bike buddies go uphill in teams of 2 or 3 by cable car - and then downhill on the finest trails, from flowing to challenging, from freshly built routes to technical natural trails, there is something for everyone's taste. For the sixth edition, the hunters start on Ciampinoi on a completely new route that has even more trail delicacies in store. If you have a taste for it, you can register for the trail hunt from 15.04.2024 onwards. The price of 48 € (per person) includes a participant shirt, a beer and of course the dumplings. The lift ticket is NOT included in the start package! Choice between day ticket or 3-day ticket. The lift ticket Dolomiti SuperSummer can be purchased directly at the valley station of the Ciampinoi cable car.

From 31st to 15th September 2024, the local hotels and restaurants delight you with dishes based on the Barbian plum and in the stores you can buy special products such as plum bread, jam, plum strudel and much more. During the plum weeks guided plum excursions also take place in Barbian: On 3th and 10th September 2024 you will learn all kinds of interesting facts about Barbian's delicacy on the plum trail and enjoy great plum dishes at a stop. The Barbian plum can also be experienced individually on the plum trail. There will be a mushroom exhibition on S. Antonio Square together with the expert mycologist Claudio Rossi. The exhibition is organized by the "Carabinieri Association Section Valgardena". Visitors will be offered a taste of mushrooms prepared by this Section.

The autumn festival in Riffian/Rifiano has a long tradition. The festival begins at 10:30 a.m. with a hearty morning pint "Frühschoppen". The highlight of the festival is certainly the folkloric procession starting at the ex-Kuenserhof in Kuens/Caines and ending at the festival square in Riffian/Rifiano. Local associations put their festively decorated floats on display. At the fairground, music groups provide musical entertainment and the sports club of Riffian-Vernuer takes care of the physical well-being. A children's area with a bouncy castle, painting and make-up corner awaits the younger guests. In case of rain, the parade will be cancelled.

What could be better than enjoying an evening above the clouds with great live music, cool drinks and a view of the sunset? End the day with a refreshing aperitif in a relaxed atmosphere and the breathtaking view of the sunset from South Tyrol's highest panoramic lounge, the Laurins Lounge. Pawigl Bread Time. Experience the old tradition of baking bread on the farm. Where could this happen more authentically than in the Lananer mountain fraction Pawigl, on the southern slope of the Vigiljoch, where the mountain farmers still bake bread on their farms today, from 11.00 am. Already the event will take place 1. September 2024, focusing on "Pawigl Bread Time". The programme will be online shortly!

Altitudes ranging from 200 to 900 metres, southeast and southwest exposures, and soils varying from sandy-gravely to rocky to red-clay lend each wine its own individual character. Join us on an expedition in exploration of the best sites, and taste each wine directly at its place of origin. (Groups of 10 or more may also book individual tours)

Would you like to learn more about the crunchy all-rounder apple? Then a guided apple tour through the orchards is just the thing for you. Our orchardist will accompany you and tell you everything you need to know about this diverse fruit. As a culinary conclusion, you can expect a tasting of delicious apples and apple juice.

Chestnut expert and chairman of the Vinschgau valley chestnut association Max Gögele takes you on a tour of the long history (some are up to 400 years old) and cultivation of chestnut trees in Kortsch/Corzes and Schlanders/Silando and along the Kastanienwaal irrigation channel path before roasting some “Keschtn” to wind down the day in a cozy atmosphere.
