    Guided hiking tour with the guide and "Ambassador of products with Quality Seal South Tyrol" Franz Wenter and through the vineyards along thewine hiking trail REBE down to Bolzano. Wine tastings along the hike. Meeting Point: Train station Klobenstein/goat at 9.50 a.m. (train from Oberbozen at 9.36 a.m.) Duration: 4-5 hours including lunch break. The REBE wine hiking trail: Along the 3.5 km long and easily walkable wine trail between Signat and Rentsch, hikers encounter 10 artistically designed installations by sculptor Filip Doss Moroder. They provide an exciting insight into wine culture and inform about the 13 local grape varieties. From Signat you hike down through the gentle wine hills to the viewing platform with a magnificent view of Bolzano, then on to the Loosmannhof farm, the small village of St. Justina and down to Rentsch to the historic Ansitz Waldgries winery.

    The return of the cattle

    When the cattle returns from mountain pastures, people celebrate it with a colourful event in autumn, every year the weekend before last of September. For this event, called “Almabtrieb”, the cows are decorated with alpine flowers, mirrors and bells. Traditional dishes, like "Krapfen", "Strauben" and "Tirtl" are made by the farmers' wives. Of course there is also traditional music, folk dance like the "Schuhplattler" and folcloristic spectacles of the "Goaslschnöller".

    Festival Sauders
    Villanders/Villandro, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
    The festival Sauders begins at 10:00 with the Holy Mass in the church of Sauders. From 11:00 then starts the festivities at the Winklerhof with performance of the folk dance group Oberrasen and the young Schuhplattler from Villanders. Music and entertainment will be provided by the Natterer Inntaler and the Südtiroler Tanzlmusig, where all dancing fans will meet on the large dance floor. Delicious Törggele dishes will be on the table, a raffle will be organized and for children there will be a playground and trampoline on site.

    37. Val Casies Mountain Pasture Festival

    Every year in September, the traditional Gsieser Almhüttenfest (Val Casies Mountain Pasture Festival) takes place in the Val Casies Valley, a highlight that attracts many hiking enthusiasts every year. The festival takes place alternately in the villages of Colle, S. Martino or S. Maddalena to give the many visitors the opportunity to get to know the numerous alpine pastures and the mountain world of the Val Casies Valley. This year the associations of Colle organise the traditional 37° Val Casies Mountain Pasture Festival on the Gallfallalm in San Martino. Starting point: S. Martino/village centre. The festival begins at 10.30 am. with a Holy Mass. In the characteristic alpine huts, various local dishes are served. Rustic folk music & children programme. A unique and unforgettable celebration to end the summer in Val Casies Valley.

    Saus dl Altonn - The Flavour of autumn
    Badia, Dolomites Region Alta Badia
    The peacefulness and colours of autumn are the frame to "Saus dl Altonn", the flavours of autumn, an event created to exalt this wonderful period of the year with good food, the genuine produce of the land and activities dedicated to nature and to the Dolomites. From September 15th to October 6th 2024, a few mountain huts of Alta Badia, that can be reached on foot, by bicycle or by cableway, will be matched with a producer and the corresponding locally product of excellence. Each mountain hut will present a menu specially created for the occasion, highlighting the product assigned. Over the three weeks of the event, the producers will be present at the huts to illustrate the special features of their products, which may also be directly purchased. The programme also envisages many other activities aimed at revealing the many excellences of Alta Badia, enjoying an absolutely unforgettable experience in the Dolomites.     Discover the story of the South Tyrolean apple in Meran/Merano! This apple tour of Merano's fruit cooperative CAFA will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about our local fruit. After a short introductory film you can explore the entire cooperative in the company of our apple experts and follow the storage, sorting, packaging and shipping of the South Tyrolean apple. Our apple expert will let you in on all kinds of secrets about our apples' goodness, the varieties and how best to store them at home. To round off the tour there is a brief apple tasting session. Registration for participation at the tourist office Marlengo, until monday, 4 p.m. Price 4 € per person. Our guide only speaks german and italian.

    Gassltörggelen – culinary delights in the streets of Chiusa/Klausen
    Klausen/Chiusa, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
    When autumn begins in the southern Valle Isarco/Eisacktal, it starts also the so-called Törggele-season. Chiusa/Klausen celebrates the beginning of this ancient tradition with a big festival. From 20th September to 22nd September, the artist's city Chiusa dedicates itself entirely to the traditions of the "Törggelen" and transforms itself into some kind of outdoor tavern. Through the streets of the town, gastronomic stands offer various South Tyrolean specialties, such as Knödel, Schlutzkrapfen, sausages with sauerkraut (fermented cabbage), doughnuts, Strauben and roasted chestnuts. A rich selection of white wines from the Valle Isarco completes the culinary offer. The festival has also a colourful entertainment program and a lot of popular music.
