The court Obermair Ehrenburg in Kiens, The first written mention of Obermair goes back to 1318 and is thus one of the oldest farms in the area. Initially belonged to the court of the Count Goertz, then the estate was frequently sold, inherited and sold again. Since 1860, guests at the inn run Obermair and already in 1900 the Obermairhof of Falkensteiner family has farmed. As you can see our kitchen pot is filled to the brim ... combined, refined dishes with an occasional touch of the exotic. Just the "magic of the diversity of South Tyrol".

The ancient inn: The Traube is documented as an inn in texts dating from the 17th century. The Niedermair family, who runs the hotel, has owned the ancient building for the last hundred years. Are you a self catering tourist? Do you prefer a bed and breakfast accomodation? Or is the classical full board your favorite option? No matter what style, the Hotel Traube can fulfill any holiday dream. In the morning, we provide a breakfast buffet. At lunch and at dinner, you may choose between various menus featuring Tyrolean delicacies as well as traditional Italian and international dishes. There are no secrets as to how we come up with our culinary creations, we simply have a clear approach to what makes good food: The use of local, natural, biological products that are fresh and seasonal. Artificial seasonings, additives and processed food are off-limits. We believe that this is the first requirement for an excellent meal. This alone however is clearly not enough. Imagination and creativity are also required- but above all we rely on our chefs special culinary skills and talent. All of this is combined with great hospitality and excellent service. Part of South Tyrolean culture is South Tyrolean warmth; treating our guests comes naturally to us. Nothing has to be forced, as we gain pleasure by satisfying our guests. Every day that ends at our restaurant ends with a real highlight: a wonderful dinner with friends.

Our cooks will regale you particularly with local delicacies having Mediterranean influence, but also with international dishes. The major part of our pasta products is home-made and the meat comes from farms in our valley.

Whether you are enjoying a aperitif or simply reading your favourite newspaper, our Cafè Rauchenbichler, with its cosy atmosphere and courteous service, is the ideal place for happy moments and good conversations. There are also various snacks for lunch or a small meal available.

In the beginnings a horse stable, the original vault from the 17 century was restored and conected with modern architectur. Open since 04.05.01 the area is daily open from 08.00 to 24.00. We serve pizzas and other food from 12.00 to 14.00 (in the high season we have non stop pizza service from 12.00 to 23.00) and at night from 17.30 to 23.00. Our Snack bar "Happy Snack Grill" is located only 210m away from the center of Kiens. We have opend from monday to saturday.
