What exactly is sustainable winegrowing? During a guided tour through the small vineyard, you learn about the ecology of vineyards. You gain an insight into how wine is produced sustainably, from planting and managing the vineyard to processing the grapes and reaching the final quality of the wine. The guided tour finishes with a wine tasting of Messnerhof wines. Duration: about 1.5 hours. Minimum number of participants: 6.

From 1 April to the end of June, the Museum of Nature is showing macro photographs of insects by South Tyrolean photographer Ulrike Mitterstieler. Ulrike Mitterstieler, born in Bolzano in 1965 and raised in Fiè allo Sciliar, only discovered her passion for photography late in life. Her enthusiasm for insects, which has accompanied her since childhood, is combined with macro photography in order to visualise the hidden beauty and complexity of these small creatures. Her work enables viewers to recognise details that often remain hidden to the naked eye. The photographer was selected as part of the South Tyrol Nature Museum's Open Call, in which local artists were invited to submit works with a South Tyrolean connection. The aim of the project is to utilise the transitional area between the first and second floors of the museum with changing exhibitions and thus offer regional talent a platform. The current exhibition builds on the success of the previous presentation ‘Kontakt’ by Christian Passeri, which can be seen from January up to and including Sunday 30 March 2025. The exhibition invites visitors to experience the world of insects from a new perspective and discover the often overlooked beauty of these animals. A collection of the traditional costume "Rittner Tracht" from the 18th century to the present day. On Wednesdays and Fridays from 4–6 p.m. in the historic Commandery Lengmoos. Last entry: 5.30 p.m., Admission: € 4, free with RittenCard. The traditional costume has a long tradition on the Ritten/Renon, which is still cultivated by associations and organisations today. It is very important for us to preserve this living cultural asset for the future and make it accessible to a broad public.

The original building of the Commandery Lengmoos dates back to the early 13th century. At the time, all across the region, pilgrim hospices were built to cater to pilgrims on their journey to Rome and provide for the poor. Short guided tour in German/Italian. Meeting point: at the church in Mittelberg. Duration: 20 minutes, Cost: € 2. The St. Nikolaus church in Mittelberg is first mentioned in 1289. This church was enlarged in the gothic style in 1400 and has kept its appearance from that time. The tower is somewhat later than the church and was probably built in the 14th Century. It is made of natural stones laid in regular patterns. Possibly in 1400 the upper levels were altered to the gothic style and the existing windows date from that period. In 1744 a rather large onion dome was added. It does not fit the building but is still quite pleasing. In 1976, during the restoration of the church and the tower, the Romanesque masonry was discovered. In this phase of restoration also came to light a large cycle of medieval frescoes that reproduce scenes of the passion of the Lord, the twelve apostles and prophets
