Orienteering is known as the „forest sport“, an outdoor adventure in areas of unspoilt natural beauty. You set off from Piz Sorega and with the help of the map and compass provided, you have to try and identify a precise course in the shortest time as possible, with check points called “lanterns”, located in the nearby meadows and woods. Here we follow the marker no. 30 on the right and the indication St. Jakob and hike on the narrow asphalt road with the Stations of the Cross slightly ascending to the little church St. Jakob (1,280 m). We continue to follow the road through meadows and woods and reach the Jochhöfe, already mentioned in 1238, which form a small hamlet. One of them is the Jausenstation Moar (1,320 m), where we treat ourselves to a short rest. On the road below the Moar (no. 12) we hike down to the Zinnerhof, on the upper dirt road westward over to the forest and on the marked trail through steep forest down to the wide trail no. 11, on which we reach Teis (962 m) In Teis we visit the mineral museum. An easy walk takes you to the Planfistí mountain pasture, where time seems to stand still. This child-friendly walk leads to the river in the Winnebachtal valley. On arrival, children and adults can try to cross the stream with the help of a rope and a slackline. This is followed by a picnic in the woods.

Ganze to the stars with us! Every Thursday (depending on the weather) a stargazing tour takes place at the Maseben mountain hut. The Maseben mountain hut can be reached after a two-hour hike with an elevation gain of 400 meters, where we strenghen ourselfes with a dinner and a drink. Afterwards, the star guides will introduce you to the world of the night sky through the telescopes.

The trail leads from Vernagt in the Schnalstal Valley over the dam and down through the forest to the Mastaunhof. We ascend through a beautiful valley to the mountain hut of the same name and stop for refreshments. We then hike back to the Mastaunhof and continue along a forest path past the rustic Raindlhöfe farms to the small hamlet of Karthaus, which was originally built by the Karthäuser family. The Selva band is a milestone in the cultural life of Val Gardena, their performances such as concerts, parades and religious processions are highly appreciated. In addition to traditional marches and classical pieces, the repertoire includes more and more original compositions for wind orchestra and modern pieces by contemporary composers. During these 90 years of activity, the Selva band has participated in numerous competitions and has always achieved extremely positive results. At the moment, Selva's band is made up of about 40 musicians.

In the climbing hall, children can learn the basics of using ropes and carabiners in a playful way on a 20-metre high climbing wall. Parents can help by belaying their children or give climbing a try themselves. There is a slackline for balance training, too.

Anna-Maria from the Kronlechnerhof farm is a farmer with passion. On her farm in Welschnofen | Nova Levante there are various animals and in summer she has a colourful garden with all types of vegetables and fruits. After a short tour of the farm we cook together various types of dumplings with the farm products. Finally, we taste together the dumplings. Primary and secondary school children from Val Gardena participated in the Giro d'Italia drawing competition. A jury selected the 30 most beautiful, creative and original drawings. The 30 winning pictures will be exhibited on the town hall square of S. Cristina.
