The festival site is located directly on the cycle path and close to Staben railroad station. Patronal festivity at the fairground in Oberbozen. Every year on August 15, the Oberbozen music band organizes this traditional and widely known event. The day begins with a Mass at 8.30 a.m. followed by a procession and blessing of herbs at Maria Himmelfahrt. Brunch starts at 11 a.m. at the festivity ground with music by the band. In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., the band invites you to the themed parade. Different music bands of South Tyrol accompany the parade, as well as Rittner alphorn musicians, folk dance group, “Goaßlschnöllern”, horse riders. In the evening live music and dancing

At the harvest from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the church field in the centre of the village, the crops are cut with a scythe, bundled into sheaves and the Kornmandlan, or “grain people”, are stood up to dry. Every year in Italy, the feast of Ferragosto, is celebrated on the 15th of August. The feast day begins with a High Mass at 09.00 a.m. in the parish church of Ortisei, during which the traditional consecration of medicinal herbs and flowers takes place. After the Holy Mass there is a folkloristic procession in the pedestrian area of Ortisei. The day will be musically framed by the alpine horns „Ladinia“ at 10.00 a.m. along the pedestrian area. At 9.30 p.m. there will be the concert with the "Merano Pop Symphony Orchestra" in the town centre.

In the historical ambience of Churburg Castle, Lichtenberg Castle ruins, Fürstenburg Castle and Marienberg Monastery, spectacular show battles will keep the spectators in suspense from 22 to 24 August 2025. Come along on a journey to the Middle Ages! Proud knights take aim at their opponents. They dash into battle on their elegant horses, lances burst, armour clatters, the noble lords crown their victor. Barthlmastag is an important Rittner vacation with a long tradition. It is celebrated annually on August 24 and takes its name from the patron saint of shepherds and farmers, St. Bartholomew. If the 24th of August falls on a Sunday, as it does this year, the cattle drive and the market are moved to Monday since Sunday is not a market day according to custom. In the past, on this day, the farmers met on the Rittner Alm for the cattle drive and the subsequent market. The cattle of the farmers, who spent the summer on the alp, are herded together at the Saltner hut and driven in at noon with “Goasslschnoellen”, Saltner calls, neighing and yelling. The meeting point is a fenced-in area, the “Stricker Pfarrer”, where in earlier years the Barthlmas market took place, where the farmers met to do various business. Today the market takes place in Pemmern, where agricultural products from the region are offered. Since 1927, the spectacle has been accompanied by the Wangen music band, which has also provided food and drink since the 1960s. After this highlight on the Rittner Alm, the afternoon continues downhill to Pemmern, where the Almfest becomes a meadow festival with music and children’s programs.
