Von Mitterplars folgen wir dem alten Burgweg, der früher zum Schloss Tirol geführt hat, durch die Weingärten hinauf zum Café Konrad, wandern ein kleines Stück auf dem Algunder Waalweg in Richtung Vinschgau und zweigen bald auf den Großen Schlundensteinweg ab. Dieser führt uns mäßig steil zum schönen Ort Vellau. Neben der Bergstation des Sesselliftes kehren wir in einem gemütlichen Lokal zur Stärkung ein und genießen den Blick in den Vinschgau. The KFS (family association) is organising a small St. Martin's Day celebration on 11th November. Meeting point at 5.30 pm in the school yard. Followed by a candlelight parade into the church of St. Peter. The members of the family association are looking forward to many colourful lights and shining children's eyes.

On 11th November, a St Martin's procession will be organised in Teis. We will leave together with the lanterns at 5.30 pm from the church square towards the festival square. Anyone can join the procession on the way. There we will celebrate a short devotion with St Martin and end the evening with chestnuts and tea.

This Christmas season, the historic Hofburg in Brixen transforms once again into the stage for a mesmerizing light and music show, enchanting audiences of all ages. This year, the Sterntaler Christmas Market in Lana becomes even more inviting. The enchanting backdrop of the historic Capuchin Garden contributes to the cozy atmosphere, hosting nearly 20 Christmas stalls during the Advent weekends – from November 28 to December 25, 2025. Small fir trees adorned with shiny red ornaments and the warm glow of luminous spheres surround the lovingly decorated stalls offering genuine South Tyrolean handicrafts. An engaging program for the whole family – including ponies and sheep, a glitter workshop, and a hands-on circus, all set to the sounds of festive live music – completes the experience and promises unforgettable moments of enjoyment. On December 31, 2025, only the culinary stalls will be open.

The Capuchin Garden with the Sterntaler Christmas Market is already open from 10.00 a.m. on the first day of Advent - the official ceremonial opening takes place at 5.00 p.m.. A Christmas theatre performance will frame the festivities.

On the first Sunday in Advent, the House of Culture in Steinegg is transformed into an atmospheric Christmas market, organised by the charity women of Steinegg. The traditional market offers a warm atmosphere, lovingly designed stands and a diverse range of handmade products, delicious treats and festive decorations. The special thing about this Christmas market is that all the net proceeds go to charity. The 20 or so active members of the association and numerous supporters from Steinegg and the surrounding area work hard to make this day a very special event. Immerse yourself in the pre-Christmas atmosphere and do good at the same time.

For more than half a century, the "Nikolauskommitee Schlanders" has been introducing the old South Tyrolean tradition of St. Nicholas parade. Passing the retirement home and the hospital, St. Nicholas runs with his carriage through the center to the Plawennpark, where the celebration ends. From 2 pm more than 100 "Krampus" are around in the pedestrian Zone of Silandro. From 5 pm St. Nicholas parade

Every year, the traditional St. Nicholas procession takes place in Sterzing on the evening of December 5th. While Knecht Rupprecht and the Moors help St. Nicholas distribute the presents, the “Tuifl” (Krampus) use their rods to keep order. Originally, the custom was used in early winter to scare off threats from the spirits of darkness and frost. The traditional procession begins at 6 p.m. and moves from the north through the old town, across the town square, through the Zwölferturm tower and into the new town. In the afternoon, St. Nicholas makes a number of house visits, during which he is also accompanied by the Tuifl.

“In winter I come along quietly, with a sack all full and heavy. I go around from house to house and am known as...” On December 5 from 5 pm, we will parade together with St. Nicholas from the "Thurner" parking space to the square in front of the middle school. There, the local theater organization Jenesien offers drinks and hot dogs.

St Nicholas procession with little Krampuses in Lana. The idea of taking away the fear of Krampus from the youngest children in our village at an early age bore great fruit last year. St. Nicholas will parade through the Gries with his little entourage on 6 December and distribute his gifts to the children at the Thalerhof, from the Capuchin church in Lana at 5.00 pm.

Farmers and handcraft offer music, culinary delicacies, punch, hot wine, different handicrafts and natural products. The Farmers’ Advent takes place at the secondary school park (near the train station) of Klobenstein/Collalbo from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

We start with our hiking guide in front of the information office in Laion, where the cab will take us to Monte Pana (1600m). From here we take the shuttle (for a fee), he brings us to above Monte Pana. From here we hike trought the Ochsenwald and then to the Zallinger inn (2054m). Stopover at the hut followed by a joint toboggan run (for a fee) or by foot (by arrangement) down to Saltria, where a shuttle take us back to Monte Pana. The cab is already waiting for us and takes us back to Laion. Walking time: 2,5 h Height difference in ascent: 250 m Height difference in descent: 390 m Route: 8 km

You will hear historical and current facts about Marling and one or two Christmas stories on the evening lantern walk through the village center of Marling. You will be accompanied by our local guide Johanna. After the evening walk, you’ll be welcomed at the pavilion in Marling with sweet pastries, a glass of Marling wine, or a refreshing South Tyrolean apple juice, the perfect way to conclude a unforgettable evening. Registration required: Until Friday, 12 noon online or at the Tourist Association Marling. The event takes place in German.

The young talents of the Music School of Karneid invite you to their Advent concert in the atmospheric setting of the Steinegg parish church.
