The annual village festival, called "Kichtag" takes place on pavilion in St. Lorenzen. Brass music, dance music, food and drink are offered.

The annual highlight of the summer season is the legendary Fane Festival. The festival continues to be a wonderful meeting place where old and young, locals and travellers come together to celebrate. Traditionally, the festival opens at 10.30 am with a field mass, after which the aroma of delicious delicacies wafts around the alpine huts: traditional farmhouse dishes such as various dumplings, Kasnockn, Tirtlan and all kinds of strudel are on the menu at the Fane Fest, and rarely are these delicacies prepared as authentically as here.

Knödel are not just dumplings, they are the ultimate South Tyrolean dish and no one knows this better than Franzi. At the Lechnerhof she creates them with the guests and shows them what must be included in the traditional food and dispels many culinary legends. Spinach, cheese, beetroot - different types of dumplings are prepared and, of course, tasted together. And the recipes? You can take them with you to become the king of the kitchen back home.

Up to 2,200 sheep and 300 goats set off from the Niedertal Alm Mountain hut in Vent valley (A) in the early morning, moving upwards through high-Alpine terrain (not dangerous) to Giogo Basso/Niederjoch (3,019 m) or the Refuge Similaun, the first group in the herd arriving at about 9:00 a.m. The most dangerous part of the return journey begins here, particularly if there is snow on the ground or the trail or parts of it are icy. Below the hut, the procession winds downhill on quite a narrow trail through steep and rocky terrain (down to about 2,600 m). The ground then becomes more level and less dangerous. After a short respite in the centre of Tisental valley, the herd continues down the mountain towards Vernago/Vernagt, arriving just before 2:00 p.m. From far away (1/2 hour before it arrives) you can already see the never-ending line of sheep. For centuries, each June shepherds have been driving their sheep from the Schnalstal Valley across the still snow-mantled saddles to graze in the pasturelands belonging to the farmers in Venter Valley in Austria. They return in mid September. About 1,500 sheep leave from the “Rofenberg-Alm“ in the early morning, reaching Hochjoch near the Bella Vista lodge (2845m) at about 11:30 a. m. The sheep arrive in Maso Corto between 3:00 p. m. The Bella Vista hut (2845 m) can be reached in about 1 hour on foot from the top station of the Roter Kofel chairlift (2543 m), follow the signs and trail number 3.

On September 14, 2025, the traditional Barbian Plum Festival will take place in Barbian from 10:00 a.m.. Entertainment with musical group. The Barbian farmers' wives and the brass band of barbian take care of your physical well-being with traditional plum dishes. We look forward to your coming!

The earth pyramids of Perca are an architectural masterpiece of nature. These extraordinary formations were shaped by storms that caused landslides and erosion. The hike starts at the second parking lot in Vila di Sopra. A well-signposted trail initially ascends steeply through the forest, offering a varied and scenic environment. Along the way, oversized rock piles, intriguing figures, and diverse rock types create a unique hiking experience. The highlight is reaching the impressive earth pyramids, remarkable in size and shape. The return route follows the road to Plata and leads back to the starting point. Backpack provisions. Today Badia celebrates the traditional "segra dl paisc", a festival for the whole village! The day begins with a solemn mass in the church, followed by the traditional cattle homecoming at 3.00 p.m. Of course, there are also culinary specialities and musical entertainment. The legendary Schupfenfest in San Genesio is a rustic gastronomic festival that enthuses locals and tourists alike. The festival offers the opportunity to combine the pleasure of a beautiful hike in the alpine pastures with the enjoyment of traditional South Tyrolean specialities in mountain huts. The itinerary allows visitors to stop along the way at various 'Schupfe', or huts in South Tyrolean dialect, between San Genesio and Meltina, sampling various typical specialities, from the inevitable farmer's snack to dumplings, Strauben and other sweet pancakes. Of course, there is no shortage of good music or company. So, off to the Schupfenfest in Jenesien, possibly in traditional costumes: lederhosen and dirndl!

Excursion with the forest rangers of the Stelvio National Park in Val d'Ultimo. Starting from the end of September, with the return of autumn, the roar of the red deer echoes through the forests of the Stelvio National Park. Well covered from the evening cold and with a bit of luck, you will not only hear the animals but also have the chance to observe them. • Duration: 5 hours • You need: Outdoor clothing, headlamp, backpack (with spare clothes, rain jacket, snacks and drinks), hiking boots, headlamp is recommended • Difficulty: easy • Difference in height uphill 460 m, difference in height downhill 150 m • Tour length: 5,5 km • Price: 20€ including breakfast at the mountain hut • Free transport by shuttle bus from S. Valburga in Val d’Ultimo to the starting point and back. Departure at 5:30 AM from S. Valburga (Tourist Office). The shuttle will make the same stops as the public transport service. On our autumn hike, we start at the parish church in Mittertal/Jaufental and hike along the Sennerbergbach up to the Sennerberg at 1,597 meters (approx. 300 vertical meters). On the way, we are enchanted by the untouched nature, which gives the area a very special energy. After a short break with a picnic, we continue our way back and visit the Sennerhof farm. There we have the opportunity to experience life on a farm up close and taste delicious, home-made goat products. The small farm store also offers the possibility to buy regional specialties.

Sheep’s wool felt of Villnösser Brillenschaf sheep for children in the Puez-Geisler Nature Park Visitor Center. As part of the Lamb Weeks of the "Villnösser Brillenschaf", an afternoon of handicrafts is organised. For children from 6 to 12 years. Free of charge, but registration required by 6 pm the day before.

The bonfire of chestnuts kicking off the event at all the Buschenschänke taverns. Leaves in hues of gold and scarlet-red begin to dot the mountains, and the aroma of grapes, ripened by the summer sun, still wafts through the vineyards. This is the environment in which the Törggelen tradition was born: the farmers would invite friends and neighbors to their wine cellars and cozy Stuben parlors in order to celebrate the crushing of the grapes. Today, in keeping with authentic practice of the tradition, chestnuts from neighboring groves are served together with homemade wine, and visitors can sample local specialties. As part of the Original Törggelen event, rural taverns known as Buschenschänke have been selected that meet the quality criteria of the Red Rooster brand. This year there are 18 taverns: located in the Isarco/Etschtal Valley, around Bozen and Meran, and along the Wine Route. The taverns in the Isarco/Etschtal Valley are connected to one another by the Eisacktal Chestnut Trail ("Keschtnweg"). Inauguration The bonfire of chestnuts, or Keschtnfeuer, will be lit at 7 p.m., kicking off the Original Törggelen event at all nine Buschenschänke taverns. In addition to serving fine wines, roasting chestnuts and preparing local specialties, the farmers will conduct tours and wine tastings starting at 6 p.m. Advance bookings are required at the participating farms (limited number of participants).

Why are leaves colourful? What kinds of fruit grow at the gardens? Are things still flowering? The Autumn Day offers a varied program in the gardens: see, hear, smell, touch. Visitors of all ages can join in on an intriguing botanical experience.

The Taufers market - small, cosy and good The traditional autumn market in Taufers in Münstertal is back. It will take place again on 11 October 2025 at the Fliri Dane square in the village centre. Experience the “Almabtrieb” in Terento! The ceremonial driving of cattle and sheep from the green pastures back to their home farms and warm barns is a long-standing tradition in Terento. For over 100 cows, calves and sheep this event marks the end of their stay in altitude where they enjoyed the fresh mountain air, tasty grass and cool nights. The animals are adorned with bells, wreaths, fresh flowers and ornate whetstone holders and they are driven down the valley by their herders. Plünderfuhren (procession floats), Goaslkrocha (whip crackers), Schuhplattlern (folk dancers) und and musical entertainment.

The festival will begin at 11 a.m. at the elementary school of Avigna. There will be a lots of tasty local delicacies with roasted chestnuts.
