The second team of Hockey Club Gherdëina competes in the Italian Hockey League – Division I and plays a key role in developing young talent from Val Gardena. The traditional Brenner market takes place every 5th and 20th of the month throughout the year. If this day falls on a Sunday or public holiday, then the market takes place on Saturday before. For the thirth season the Nigerstrasse at the foot of the magnificent Rosengarten mountain will be reserved for hikers and cyclists this year on two Sundays (15th June 25 & 21th September 25) from 08.30 a.m. till 4 p.m. During this period of time, the road will be closed for automobiles and motorcycles. The cableways from Welschnofen / Nova Levante and Tiers / Tires will take all visitors to the Nigerstrasse. At the same time, inns and refreshment stops along the way will be serving a variety of culinary delicacies. The finest outdoor cuisine awaits you at the Tschein restaurant. A horse-drawn carriage runs every half hour between Franzin Alm and Malga Frommer - timetable. E-bikes can be rented directly from the local bike rental shops upon registration and payment. At the same time, families can take advantage of the Family Sundays: All families (2 adults and 2 children) are entitled to unlimited rides on the six summer aerial lifts in Carezza – for just 44 Euros. Thus, you can enjoy the fabulous hiking options at the foot of the stunning "Rose Garden" and also use the Welschnofen, König Laurin 1 & König Laurin 2 aerial trams, as well as the Paolina & Tschein chair lifts, and the Tiers / Tires cableway (funicular) for one price. The legendary Schupfenfest in San Genesio is a rustic gastronomic festival that enthuses locals and tourists alike. The festival offers the opportunity to combine the pleasure of a beautiful hike in the alpine pastures with the enjoyment of traditional South Tyrolean specialities in mountain huts. The itinerary allows visitors to stop along the way at various 'Schupfe', or huts in South Tyrolean dialect, between San Genesio and Meltina, sampling various typical specialities, from the inevitable farmer's snack to dumplings, Strauben and other sweet pancakes. Of course, there is no shortage of good music or company. So, off to the Schupfenfest in Jenesien, possibly in traditional costumes: lederhosen and dirndl!

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the Nigerstraße at the foot of the Rosengarten will be reserved exclusively for hikers and cyclists. From 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the road will be closed to car and motorcycle traffic. The cable cars from Welschnofen and Tiers will bring all visitors to the Nigerstraße without using a car. Along the route, restaurants offer delicious local specialties, and a horse-drawn carriage runs every half hour between Franzin Alm and Frommer Alm. E-bikes can be rented at the bike rental at the top station of the Welschnofen/Frommer Alm cable car. As part of the Family Bike & Hiking Day, the second edition of the Family Challenge takes place along the Nigerstraße. During this exciting event, families and children can complete fun games and challenging tasks, with the chance to win great prizes. A perfect day full of fun, exercise, and family adventures in nature! The Farmers' Youth Festival takes place at the Viglatscherhof in Steinegg/Collepietra. The Klausner band will provide entertainment from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the best milkers. Craft corner with Hube. Food and drink will be provided.

An exciting afternoon full of play and movement awaits you! On the bike course with roundabout and real traffic light, you can ride your own bikes, scooters, or try out the fun trikes provided by the VKE play bus. There will also be giant board games and skill games for young and old, plus a special highlight: a giant roller slide. The bike guides of the Bike Academy Lana will offer cycling technique courses every hour from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, teaching children and adults how to ride safely – of course on the bike course with traffic light. Snacks and drinks will be provided by VKE, including sausages, cakes, popcorn, and beverages. ATTENTION: In case of rain, the event will be cancelled! The road from the campsite in Tesimo to the vocational school will remain closed to traffic for the entire duration of the event!

An exciting, informative and entertaining circular hike in a culturally rich settlement area rich with a visit to the rustic farm Ausluger (12th century) and its charming farm shop where you can buy the farm's own products which are produced under the seal of quality "Roter Hahn" from 100% regional production. In a short bus ride we sustainably reach the beautiful market town of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo (810m/starting point). On partly unmarked unknown paths, walking through meadows and forests, accompanied by beautiful views of Brunneck/Brunico and the Rieserferner group, we cross the Onsberg (939m) and reach the farm "Ausluger", including a visit to the rustic farm, located in the idyllic village of St. Martin/San Martino. After our stay we pass the village characterized by the striking Michelsburg and farms and reach the western end of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo. In the face of the imposing Sonnenburg/Castelbadia we hike to the beautiful village of the same name (830 m). An exciting traverse under the Sonnenburger Kopf (937) through the "Hazelnut Tunnel" awaits us. With a magnificent view over the valley widening of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo we reach the last section of the hike. This leads us along the rushing Rienz back to the starting point.
