Open Day of the Val Gardena Search and Rescue Dog Unit! Exciting demonstrations, interactive activities for all ages, fascinating insights into rescue dog work, and much more.

When walking in nature with your eyes open, you will find lots of materials that can be used to create surprising things. In the small workshop in the centre of Ortisei, pebbles, moss, seeds, wood, leaves, pinecones, and other natural materials are used to build small works of art together with the children. Thanks to this workshop with the Nature Park Ranger the creations can be taken home and remind even after the holidays what great things can be made with such simple materials and a little imagination. - Founded in 1978, the Puez-Geisler / Puez-Odle Nature Park extends to Würzjoch / Passo delle Erbe in the north, Grödner Joch / Passo Gardena in the south, Gadertal / Val Badia valley (Kampill, Untermoj / Longiarü, Antermöia) in the east and Villnößtal / Val di Funes and Grödntal / Val Gardena in the west. The northern portion of the park encompasses Aferer / Odle di Eores, Villnösser Geisler / Odle di Funes and Peitlerkofel / Sas da Pütia, while the southern portion encompasses the highlands of Gherdenacia, Sassongher, Puez (including Langental / Vallunga) and the Cir mountains. The park was enlarged in 1999 and now extends over an area of around 10,722 hectares belonging to the villages of Abtei / Badia, Corvara, Villnöss / Funes, St.Martin in Thurn / S. Martino in Badia, St.Ulrich / Ortisei, St. Christina / S. Cristina in Gröden and Wolkenstein in Gröden / Selva di Gardena. Apart from Villnösstal / Val di Funes, all of the park’s other municipalities are Ladin communities: St. Christina/Santa Crestina, Wolkenstein/Sëlva, Abtei/Badia and Corvara in the south, and St. Martin in Thurn/San Martin de Tor in the east. The Puez-Geisler / Puez-Odle Nature Park, which counts as a Dolomites site hut, contains all of the rock types, sediment strata and weathering forms that are characteristic of the Dolomites. The park’s karstic highlands, majestic rock faces, rolling Alpine pastures set off against bizarre looking backdrops of cleft mountains, valleys formed by extreme erosion, and dark coniferous forests comprise a multifarious landscape that is rarely found in such a small area.

A tribute to one of the greatest film composers of our time: Ennio Morricone. The Classical Mood Quartet – a family of musicians from Bolzano – performs his most iconic film themes, specially arranged for their ensemble, in an emotional and atmospheric concert. Their music tells stories through sound and imagery, taking the audience into the heart of cinema. An evening of musical magic and shared memories with old and new friends alike.

This summer, IDEA UNIKA takes place for the sixth time: an exhibition of contemporary art in the pedestrian area of Ortisei. Until mid-September, this place will be the exceptional stage for prominent local artists, who have created their works in an authentic setting and in the midst of an exceptional landscape situation. During a guided tour, experts will explain the long way from the birth of a simple idea to the exposition of a unique work of art. Guided tours are offered every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with meeting point in the Cultural Centre "Luis Trenker". Registration in the Tourist Offices of Val Gardena.

The Schabs Music Band hails from the beautiful Valle d'Isarco and was founded in the autumn of 1984 by six music enthusiasts and the parish priest at the time. Today, the band has 68 active members. As one of the youngest bands in South Tyrol, the Schabs Music Band celebrated its 40th anniversary last year. Conductor Stephan Obexer and Chairman Michael Rizzi are delighted to spend an entertaining concert evening with you and the Schabs Music Band!

The Reinswald Band from the picturesque Sarentino Valley will perform a special concert in Selva di Val Gardena. Founded in 1921, the band has been dedicated for over a century to preserving and promoting the musical traditions of their hometown. With its 41 active musicians, the Reinswald Band, under the direction of conductor Martin Rungger and president Joachim Thaler, will present an evening filled with musical variety and lively performances. Join us for an unforgettable evening of music and Alpine tradition!

A headlamp is required for the return hike. When making your reservation, please indicate whether you will bring your own yoga mat or if you would like to borrow one. "Jufa" is a typical dish from the Val Gardena, a sort of very filling milk pudding. The crust of the pot gives it an unmistakable taste. Traditionally it is a dish to share in company, enjoying it directly by spoonfuls from the pot.

At 9.30 am Holy Mass the Parish Church S. Cristina, with musical accompaniment by the church choir and orchestra of S. Cristina. Following the folklore parade by Val Gardena costumes and music band S. Cristina, through the centre of S. Cristina to the Center Iman. During the day, musical entertainment by various South Tyrolean music groups.

Ganes – Live Ladin Soundscapes The Ladin band Ganes has been enchanting audiences for years with their unique blend of tradition and modernity. With their new album "VIVES", the three musicians take their audience on a journey through the vibrant world of the Alps, full of stories, memories, and musical passion. The songs are a tribute to life, to old traditions, and to togetherness – sometimes melancholic, sometimes joyful, but always full of emotion. On July 20, 2025, you’ll have the special opportunity to experience Ganes live – and in a breathtaking setting! The concert will take place at the St. Jakob Church above St. Ulrich, an idyllic church with an impressive view of the Dolomites. The journey to St. Jacob Church is already an experience in itself: 🌿 On foot: It takes about 1.5 hours to reach the church from St. Ulrich – a wonderful hike through nature. 🚌 By bus: If you prefer more convenience, you can take bus No. 355.1 to St. Jakob, and from there, it’s just a 15-minute walk to the church. The Kreativ Ensemble was born in 1983 and is composed of instrumentalists belonging to important Italian orchestras (Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, Orchestra Haydn of Bolzano and Trento). He performs in String Quartet, basic training, in quintet and octet. He collaborates with prestigious soloists performing the most beautiful pages of the chamber repertoire from the eighteenth century to the present day. The Kreativ Ensemble is regularly invited to the most important Italian and international Festivals such as: Pesaro Festival, Suoni delle Dolomiti, Musicastello, Bolzano Estate, Rome Jubilee 2000, Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, International Festival of Bergamo and Brescia.

From jazz to funk, the duo of Georg Malfertheiner and Evi Mair captivates with their seamless interplay between vibraphone and voice, as well as with their refined arrangements of popular standards. This concert will once again be a special one: the two musicians will share the stage as a quintet with Ivan Miglioranza (guitar), Michele Bazzanella (bass), and Federico Groff (drums). Be surprised by the wonderful sound of the vibraphone, the extraordinary voice, and a top-class rhythm section.
