"Photography is an ideal tool to show the nuances of time, its effects, its consequences, but also its premises. Not the before and after, but the how and why in a presumed simultaneous eternity of events, condensed in an absurd and yet improbable attempt to capture the present.
Giancarlo Lamonaca’s works represent, above all, a challenge to the idea of reality inherent in the concept of photography and open new fronts of dialogue with existence. These are physical and symbolic actions that reflect the allure of legitimate ambiguity. The impulse to record is not enough: the goal is to understand that every realistic element hides or implies something ambiguous, elusive, mysterious. It’s the need to expand and distort the known real world through a conceptual framework, showing how every form of (re-)cognition holds within itself a repertoire of potential and hypothetical imagination.
Following Werner Heisenberg’s aphorism, according to which the artist is capable of 'penetrating reality from within,' we are called to seek what does not exist, the possible alternative, the different face of the world.
It is always somewhat mad to want to surpass the boundaries of the 'photographable.' It means unveiling all the ambiguity of photography, allowing oneself to be impressed by its seductive fiction. But isn't it perhaps the eternal ambiguity or the ephemeral nature of images: to show and hide at the same time, to portray the world and at the same time change it? Even in this cycle of work, everything can be continually observed, reorganized, and recomposed. It’s as if nothing is ever fixed and never really 'seen.' 'It is in this impossible limit of the physical world,' wrote photographer Luigi Ghirri, 'that photography finds meaning.'"
Welcome to the 6th edition of the $15,000 ITF Men's Tennis Tournament in Selva di Val Gardena. This tournament promises a week of thrilling competition with high-level sporting performances. The event wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication of the participants who have invested significant time and effort into their tennis skills. Recently, the tennis courts have been upgraded to a slower playing surface to align with international standards, thanks to the efforts of the organizing committee and the tournament director.
In previous editions of this tournament, local talents have been nurtured, and this year, we will see the participation of promising players from the tennis school. With the presence of numerous South Tyrolean players, we can expect exciting matches in front of an enthusiastic audience. We look forward to an unforgettable tournament week.

Do you want to get to know and experience nature by hiking consciously and safely, but above all with the right hiking technique? Have you seen other nature enthusiasts using poles and would you like to try them out? Then this short afternoon hike, in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Vallunga and Chedul Valley, which are both unique in their kind, is just the thing for you.
Indeed, hiking in the mountains is a very complete physical activity, which is very healthy and of great benefit for strengthening the joints and the back. All this in direct contact with nature and at the same time affordable for everyone. It has also proven to be an excellent activity to get rid of a few extra kilos easily.
Walking is a natural, innate movement, yet walking should always be adapted to the conditions of the terrain. To walk up, down or across very steep terrain or particularly slippery ground, it is not enough to put one foot in front of the other: You need a minimum of walking technique.
Together with our local certified hiking guide Patrick, you will become better acquainted with the various hiking techniques that will enable you to tackle your next hikes in greater safety, but above all with less effort. You will also learn the correct use of trekking poles and discover the great advantages they offer for ascents and descents when used correctly.
This "full immersion course" in a unique mountain environment, is the fastest way to acquire the basic techniques to apply them in your future mountain tours and hikes.
By request, we will also deal with the topics of successful tour planning, emergency management as well as meteorology in the mountains.

When the summer draws to an end, nature is at peace and the skies seem clearer than ever before, a very special wonder of nature can be observed in Val Gardena.
From the middle of September, the needles of the larch turn from green to yellow, and then to glowing orange, red and brown. At the same time, a special and deep sunlight makes the Dolomites (UNESCO World Heritage) appear wonderfully red. The myth-enshrouded “Pale Mountains” transform into glowing rocks: the edges, points and towers are immersed in a magical sunlight, framed by a crystal-clear and radiantly blue sky, typical of the stable fine weather conditions in autumn. Photographers and nature watchers love to visit the Dolomite valley at this time of year, when it becomes peaceful and tranquil – visitors are truly astonished by the spectrum of colours.
