The snow sculpture of the Holy Family is located below the parish church of Selva di Val Gardena.
It was carved entirely out of snow by artists Ivo and his son Damian Piazza in four days, from 6 to 9 December.

In Val Gardena, the valley renowned for its long-standing woodcarving tradition, the Nativity scene is one of the most cherished and lovingly maintained Christmas customs. On Christmas Eve, the Baby Jesus is placed in the simple manger, while the Three Wise Men traditionally arrive only on January 6th. At the Cultural centre “Luis Trenker” in Ortisei, an exhibition featuring over 40 hand-carved Nativity scenes from Val Gardena showcases the remarkable variety and craftsmanship of local woodcarvers.

The exhibition “Garejedes de schi te Gherdëina” presents the history of ski races in Val Gardena through archival photos and documents. From 13 December 2025 to 15 January 2026 at the Tublà da Nives, Selva di Val Gardena.

The second team of Hockey Club Gherdëina competes in the Italian Hockey League – Division I and plays a key role in developing young talent from Val Gardena. On Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., the traditional Advent Concert will take place in the Parish Church of St. Christina.

A varied musical program awaits the audience: the parish choir, Cor Sasslong, I Rujins, and a guitar and violin trio will come together to create an evening filled with festive sounds and contemplative atmosphere.

The concert offers a wonderful opportunity to step away from everyday life for a while and let the music and ambiance gently usher in the Christmas season.

Afterwards, at 6:00 p.m., the Advent raffle will take place on the church square – a delightful way to end the evening in warm company.

Thanks to an innovative system, you can start off in complete tranquility and then descend steeply through woods and meadows at a speed of up to 100 km/h. Val Gardena is a paradise for skiers regardless of their level: newbies and passionate amateur skiers spend their holidays in the valley. However, for a few days a year, the skiing slopes of Dolomites Val Gardena attract the creme de la creme of skiing. And you, as our guests, will have the opportunity of following the skiing stars live from the edge of the slopes as they battle for a place on the podium of the FIS World Cup.

The history of the World Cup in Dolomites Val Gardena goes back to the 1970s. The Saslong slope is one of the most beautiful and well-known stages of the world cup, what with its famous and feared ‘camel hump’ and speeds of up to 100 km an hour. The Ski World Cup took place in 1970 in Dolomites Val Gardena, among other places; on that occasion the whole skiing world set its eyes on the Saslong slope. Women and men took part in dozens and dozens of races on the slope as well as on the region’s other famous slopes: Ronc, Ciampinoi and Cir. Today, a super-G and a men’s downhill race take place in Dolomites Val Gardena once a year.

Local celebrities and international legends fulfilled their dream of one day being the winner of the FIS ski World Cup in Dolomites Val Gardena. Among the winners of the downhill we have known skiers such as Peter Müller, Rob Boyd, Michael Walchhofer and Kristian Ghedina.

The thrill of being the first! Even before the usual opening time, you take the Seceda cabin lift to reach the altitude of 2.500 m, where the first rays of sunshine will dive the Sassolungo Group into a magical light. Together with a ski instructor, you draw the first turns in the freshly groomed slope “La Longia” (10 km) and get some advices to improve your ski technique. Before returning to the valley station, a rich breakfast will be served at the mountain hut Val d’Anna.

Experience winter in all its splendor on an unforgettable hike in the golden light of the Alpenglow. Together with an experienced hiking guide, you will start your tour at Monte Pana, where a chairlift will take you to the idyllic Mont Sëura alpine meadow, nestled below the imposing Langkofel. Here you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view – perfect for a souvenir photo at the Viewpoint Mont Sëura. As the sun slowly sets behind the striking peaks of the Dolomites, the Alpenglow bathes the rugged rock faces in glowing shades of red and gold. The spectacular view of this natural wonder will accompany you on the descent back to Monte Pana.
