The starting idea of La Smorfia, a project launched back in 2014, was to take a good pizza to Merano. Our mission is to use one of the most popular courses of Italian tradition to spread products, flavours and recepies through iconic Mediterraneancuisine plates. We have been so successful in doing this that the project evolved in 2021 into "The South in Tyrol", an improvement of our offer which enabled us to pair our food choice with the national enological richness. Throughout this constant growing process we got to La Smorfia Experience, a room dedicated to a more rational culinary approach, a whole access to food and wines from our cellar. The renowned international guide Falstaff awarded us in 2022
as the best pizzeria in South Tyrol.
The search for a delicious à la carte Restaurant will lead you straight to the heart of the pedestrian zone of Sterzing's old town and to the restaurant of Hotel Lamm. Young chef Franz Mulser conjures up superlative dishes in a small kitchen just two and a half square metres in size at an altitude of 1930 m. The young chef’s maxim is “fresh and natural”. The hut has a maximum capacity of 25 people and, in the evenings, meals must be booked in advance. During the day, hikers and, in winter, skiers and snowboarders come here in search of refreshment. The evenings are particularly relaxing and guests can enjoy Franz’s dishes, such as hay soup with truffles or local venison.
In our cozy farmhouse inn or on the sunny terrace, you can enjoy the finest dishes of Ladin and Tyrolean cuisine. Our traditional dishes are based on excellent products from our agriculture and the region: dumplings with goulash, creamy soup from the Rit meadows, and tagliatelle with ragout are some of our specialties. Of course, we offer a wide range of wines and beers from South Tyrol cannot. Every day we offer our flagship dishes made from Angus beef from our herd, a very flavorful, tender, and rich in Omega-3 fatty acids meat.

Our kitchen team headed by Chef Elmar Wild is renowned for its creative, tasty cuisine which always uses natural and healthy ingredients. We offer typical South Tyrolean specialties as well as a selection of Italian and French dishes. Each day of your stay will therefore be rounded off by culinary delights, combining traditional as well as Mediterranean influences, accompanied by fine wines. We also offer a wide range of different pizzas made in a traditional wood oven, fresh salads from the buffet and fine desserts.

The little Gstatsch hut is newly built with the philosophy of South Tyrolean regionality. At the same time we move away from the tradition and reinterpret a new cuisine.
The route up to the hut is family and cyclist friendly. Ideal for un short round on the alp or a mountain tour.
We offer hut evenings on reservation, for a great experience.
The restaurant / pizzeria Sonnleiten is located directly on the ski slope of the Pragser Tal ski lift. On the near-natural terrace you can enjoy delicious dishes and take a closer look at the lush green meadows and mountains. Since it is a bit out of the way, it is particularly interesting for families.
