Klaus Lentsch, scion of an old-established South Tyrolean winemaking family, decided to take a new path in 2008 and has been producing typical wines for the region ever since. Bachgart, Fuchslahn and Eichberg are the historical vineyards he can call his own. Discover the variety of tastes of the cru wines from the Eisack valley, the fresh white wines from the Überetsch and the strong reds from the porphyry slopes in the lowlands. Thanks to the most modern cellar technology, the mechanical processing can be carried out as gently as possible. Gentle pressing of the grapes and the subsequent gentle fermentation process transform the grapes from must into young wine. With muse and above all time during the ripening in the cellar, the harmonious wines of Klaus Lentsch are created in inox and wooden barrels.

Visit the Ritterhof winery at the Wine Road N°1. The Ritterhof is the right place for wine connoisseurs but also for anyone who would like to become one. Our wine brings people together. Ritterhof cultivate the vines with the greatest of care, the grapes are harvested by hand and turned into the best wines from South Tyrol with passion.

Kettmeir winery has been producing top quality wines and sparkling wines since 1919. Its beautiful building, built in the typical architectural style of the area (named Überetscher Baustil), belongs to the most renowned of the South Tyrolean wine world. Guided visits upon request.

In the modern Vinothek in the main building of the winery, wine lovers, winegrowers and visitors alike should feel at home, enjoying a good glass of wine at the bar, but also being able to taste various wines. The focal point of the vinotheque is the elliptical bar counter. It symbolizes a large oak barrel and connects the cosy bar area with the tasting area.

The wine bar Weinschmiede arises from the desire of Arthur Rainer, wine producer at Seeperle and Robert Sinn, wine producer at St. Quirinus, to bring their wines to Kaltern’s village centre. The focus is placed on their own production. However, wine lovers will also find a fine selection of other wines to be purchased or tasted together with small appetizers.

The restaurant offers typical south tyrolean, italian dishes and at midday also a menu of the day.

Let us welcome you on our fantastic terrace directly on the lake shore and enjoy our delicious meals and the well selected South Tyrolean wines. In the afternoon you will be spoiled with fresh apple strudel and home made cakes and have a taste of a wide range of ice creams. In summer time there is life - music on Tuesdays evenings and dinner with BBQ on Fridays in July and August.
