The time has come, our live cooking show “Glurns Koch” will take place again this year on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 15.00 o’clock. The show will be held as a part of the “Palabiratage” in the town hall Glurns . The focus is on South Tyrolean cuisine – above all the “Palabirne”, our local producers, restaurants and the great personalities behind them, who will conjure up culinary delights for you from 16.00 o’clock. Market stalls and live music, that creates an atmospheric ambience, will accompany the cooking show. With the following tasting, there is nothing left to desire – we are looking forward to your visit!

A special Sunday on the Watles adventure mountain for the whole family. At the ‘Watlessunnta’ you can expect live music with the band Hopfenmusig at the Watles play lake. There will be a barbecue! At the end of September, the rutting of the Red deer begins in the Stelvio National Park. Dressed warmly, we listen to the roaring of the male deer echoing through the autumn forests. With any luck, we may also observe them.

The Stelvio National Park is a high mountain park. During a guided tour of the naturatrafoi Visitor Centre, you can immerse yourself directly in the extreme climatic conditions of high altitudes. What tricks do the animals and plants use to survive the freezing nights, the nine months of winter temperatures, the strong sunlight and also the landslides? In Prato allo Stelvio, ancient customs and traditions are experienced like in few other places in South Tyrol. "Zusslrennen" and "Machgertanz" in carnival, the "Goaßlschnölln" group and the famous "Tuifl" devils of St. Nicholas in December are just a few examples of the village's cultural specialities. The entire variety of living traditions and ancient costumes will be brought closer to visitors during the seventh festival of tradition and taste, to be held on 5 October 2025. The Tourist Association of Prato, together with the participating associations, invites you to participate in a colourful programme of events as part of the festival. From local and regional customs to culinary delights, a large craft and gourmet market, open kitchen, bowling alley, harmonious music and much more, there is much for festival visitors to see and experience. The festival starts at 9.30 a.m. with a morning pint in the main square of Prato.

The Gollimarkt is a traditional market that takes place on October 16 (St. Gallus' Day) in the center of Mals. The Gollimarkt was established together with the Georgimarkt in 1642 on the occasion of the elevation of the village to a market town by Archduchess Claudia de' Medici. This year the colorful autumn market offers farm products, handicrafts and art!

New Wines with Old Roots “New Val Venosta wines” as fine-structured mountain wines from Colsano. Thomas Plack was precisely nineteen years old when he took over the estate in Colsano at the foot of Monte Mezzodì in the Val Venosta in 1989. Today, in addition to five hectares of fruit orchards, he also manages three hectares of vineyards upon which, as Plack himself says, “new Val Venosta wines” are created. Every Wednesday between 8.30 am to 12.30 am, the pedestrian zone and Peter-Glückh-Platz in Malles/Mals bustle with activity. Fresh local produce, such as fruit, berries and vegetables, cheeses, bacon and bread types, jam, vinegar, juices and herbal teas, are always available for sale at the market. There are also craft and handicraft products made of stone, wood or felt for sale, as well as textiles, leather goods, plants, and equipment of all kinds for house and garden. From June to September, the market is held together with the farmers' market in the pedestrian zone, where producers from the area offer bacon and cheese, fruit and vegetables. The surrounding guesthouses and restaurants offer special dishes to the respective market focus.

The "Laatscher Morkt" is a traditional autumn market in Laatsch near Mals. Products from local farmers, craftsmen, artists and many more. With cheese, chestnuts, clothes, as well as cabbage, bread and goulash. And there are animals too! With lots of music and accordion players, there's plenty going on! Come and see for yourself!

In (Wine) Heaven In Castelbello, the special feature of the Val Venosta’s Monte Mezzodì is exploited It is not without reason that the Monte Mezzo dì-Sonnenberg carries its name [“Midday Mountain” in Italian, “Sun Mountain” in German]. More than 250 days of sun per year can be counted here, the temperature differentials between day and night are extreme, and the amount of precipitation is lower than anywhere else in Alto Adige. These extraordinary conditions are used by Markus Fliri at the Himmelreich-Hof in Castelbello in order to produce wines with strong character. The vineyards of the Himmelreich-Hof, just precisely two hectares, lie at an elevation of 650 meters, and the moraine soils, a remnant of the last ice age, have a high mineral content which can be tasted in the grapes.
