CANCELLED! When the cattle returns from mountain pastures, people celebrate it with a colourful event in September. For this event, called “Almabtrieb”, the cows are decorated with alpine flowers, mirrors and bells. From 10.00 am there is a festival on the meadow in Ranui. Traditional dishes are offered. Of course there is also traditional music. The cows are expected to return at Ranui at around 12.00 noon. The mountain hut Dusleralm remains closed on this day.

During the colourful autumn, families interested in nature learn in a playful way about the forest and its inhabitants together with a biologist on a walk around St. Magdalena: Which trees grow in Villnöss valley? Which animals can we observe in the forest? You will learn lots of exciting things about the forest through games, searching for clues and interesting materials. A visit to the Ganoihof with Georg Profanter (social pedagogue, organic farmer) and Andreas Hudler (landscape ecologist) under involvement of biodiversity in interaction with management on the farm; insights into the current management of organic suckler cow breeding and an aperitif together on the farm. During this guided tour of the museum, you will learn interesting facts about different types of rocks, animals and plants, and last but not least, about tourism and mountaineering in the Puez-Geisler Nature Park. From 19th to 22nd September, we will join together to collect waste thanks to the SÜDTIROL CleanUP Days. The project is organised by the non-profit association Patron. As part of the SÜDTIROL CleanUP Days, eleven South Tyrolean destinations are calling for nature to be cleared of rubbish. The clean-up takes place in Val d'Ega/Eggental, Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm, Villnöss, Olang and Aldein Radein, in Val Passiria/Passeiertal, Valle Aurina/Ahrntal and in the regions Valle di Casies/Welsberg-Tesido/Taisten, Gitschberg-Val Giovo/Jochtal, Lüsen and Racines/Ratschings. The eleven territories have one thing in common: they all strive to spread a conscious and respectful approach to nature. Furthermore, in IDM South Tyrol we have found a partner who cares as much about our planet as we do. The concept is easy to explain: by forming small groups, numerous nature lovers set out to collect rubbish scattered in forests, on the shores of lakes, in municipalities... in short, wherever rubbish has been left behind. Anyone can participate: Registration and coordination of the routes takes place via the CleanUP Map (interactive map) at www.patron-nature.org/en/cleanup/south-tyrol. Here, participants can directly enter their chosen date and route.

After a 2-minute ride by private car and a subsequent hike (approx. 20 minutes) you reach the excavation site, where you will search for Geodes of Teis under the expert supervision of a collector. Note: Due to Paul Fischnaller's advanced age, the excursion will be led by another experienced collector. Tools are provided by the museum Hiking boots recommended. Participation at your own risk! We set off, clean up and enjoy nature, the fun in a group and the great feeling of making a difference together during the South Tyrol CleanUP Days. As part of the South Tyrol CleanUP Days, Villnöss valley offers a guided CleanUP tour along the Farmers' Trail and Panorama Trail. The farmers' trail is the former connecting route between Coll and the village centre of St. Peter and was used by the farmers to get to school and to church. The historic farms, the picturesque chapels and wayside shrines and the majestic pale mountains, the Odle, will enchant you. Learn all the steps in the production from milk to cheese. You are also welcome to lend a hand in the production of cheese. It is all about the almost extinct Villnösser Brillenschaf sheep. South Tyrol’s oldest sheep breed has a characterizing dark pigmentation around the eyes, and it seems really like the sheep are wearing glasses. During the culinary Lamb weeks from 4th to 13th October 2024 you may taste a variety of dishes made of this special lamb in one of the participating restaurants of Funes.

Two-day festival in St. Magdalena with traditional farmers' market around the topic Speck, culinary delicacies such as speck, farmer's bread and "tirtlen" and musical entertainment.

The music band of Villnöss valley, invites you to the ball "Schnauzerball" in St. Peter. The band will play at the beginning of the festival at 8.00 pm and afterwards the music group "WüdaraMusi" will ensure a good atmosphere. From 10.00 pm big party in the practice room. Table reservations via MKV.IT.

Sheep’s wool felt of Villnösser Brillenschaf sheep for children in the Puez-Geisler Nature Park Visitor Center. As part of the Lamb Weeks of the "Villnösser Brillenschaf", an afternoon of handicrafts is organised. For children from 6 to 12 years. Free of charge, but registration required by 6 pm the day before.

Holy mass in the parish church of St. Peter starting at 9.30 am in thanksgiving for the successful harvest.

The farmers’ festival at Teis, which will take place on 20th October 2024, is one of South Tyrol’s most traditional festivals and a true journey of discovery through the crafts and customs of the Villnöss valley. On the festival, you’ll learn how to do old farm crafts such as baking bread, weaving baskets and hats, felting, carving and pottery. Freshly prepared, rustic specialties are also served, while musical groups play in the charming village lanes. Beginning at 10.00 am.

Puppet theatre "Not only wolves are hungry". Puppet theatre by Eva Sotriffer in collaboration with the library and the Villnöß education committee for children aged 4 and more years and the whole family. No registration required.

Evening concert of the music band of Villnöss valley, starting at 08.00 pm in the Church of St. Peter. The music band would be glad to welcome you to enjoy a musical evening.

Also this year the Advent market takes place at St. Peter in the morning from 09.00 am, where self-designed flower arrangements, Advent wreaths, candles etc. are for sale.

Various music groups of the band bring the musical New Year's wishes in all fractions of the Villnöss valley directly to the house according to old tradition from 09.00 o'clock in the morning.
