The fashion and lifestyle brand Luis Trenker was founded in 1995 by Michi Klemera in Bolzano, where it remains headquartered to this day. The first collection was created in memory of the film pioneer and mountaineer Luis Trenker, who had passed away five years earlier. His distinctive style, dynamic life, and complex personality remain the chief inspirations for the company's design and philosophy. In July 2024, the long-cherished dream of Michi Klemera and his team came true with the opening of the Luis Trenker store in Ortisei. This location is particularly significant for the brand, being the birthplace of its namesake and rich with reminders of the most famous native of Val Gardena, a valley in the Dolomites of northern Italy.
