Almabtrieb am 21.09.24 Traditionelles Almabtriebsfest beim Sportplatz von Lichtenberg. Die Tiere kommen bei der Pfarrkirche um ca. 13.00 Uhr an (kann etwas abweichen) und ziehen dann geschmückt durch das ganze Dorf bis zur Weide beim Sportplatz in Lichtenberg. Für Speis, Trank und Unterhaltung ist bestens gesorgt ab 12.00Uhr.

Traditional autumn market with regional products of the harvest season. Food, drink and music are well provided for! In addition to local regional products, high-quality handicraft products as well as typical market items are offered. This market has been held in Prad every year on 21 September since the 19th century.

The Upper Venosta Valley has numerous bunkers dating back to wartime. One of these is Bunker 5, which is located above the village of Mals. It can be recognised directly from the village and has recently been adorned with a viewing platform with a fantastic panoramic view! On Saturday 21 September, we will be celebrating the official opening of the new exhibition in the Bunker 5, which will tell the story of the bunkers and the Alpine Wall. It will start at 4 pm with a guided tour and visit. Everyone is cordially invited! The municipality of Mals and the Upper Venosta Valley holiday region look forward to seeing you there.

The sheep herding in Stelvio takes place on September 21st. The sheep will arrive at the Lausboden near the Stilfs fishing pond at around half past 8. This is followed by the traditional sheep shearing and festivities with a grill party.

Restaurant Flurin will spoil you with good live music in their courtyard! This Saturday, 21.09.2024, the Tonal Acoustic Duo will play for you and provide your evening with wonderful sounds over a drink. It starts at 20:00 in the inner courtyard of Restaurant Flurin. In case of bad weather, the concert will take place in their bar.

Guided E-Bike Tour From our starting point in Reschen we drive to our other meeting points in Graun, St. Valentin and Burgeis. Here we are already rewarded with a magnificent panorama of the Ortler group and the beautiful cultivated meadows of the Upper Vinschgau. From here we continue as desired to our meeting point in Mals. From Mals we drive back to Burgeis, past the historic Marienberg monastery, along a forest road to the Watles valley station. 100 m after the valley station we turn slightly left, along the hiking trail, past the Höferalm to the Plantapatschhütte. The trail leads to the picturesque Pfaffensee lake at 2220 m. From there we go downhill, first for a few hundred metres on a flowing trail, then later on a forest road. Past the lazy lake we arrive at St. Valentin a.d.H.. From there we can either take the cycle path towards Reschen or Mals, depending on the starting point of the tour. Morning Pint in the village green (Dorfanger) of Mals The moring pint will take place on 22 September 2024 in the Dorfanger with the Mals music band. Start is from 10.15 am. The music groups ‘Gernot mit Familie’ & ‘Grenzenlos’ will be there to provide you with good music! As a special there will be a suckling pig. The Mals music band is looking forward to seeing you!

Guided E-Bike Tour From our starting point in Reschen, we head uphill towards the Vallierteck Chapel and continue uphill along a gravel path towards the Rescher Alm. On this ascent you are rewarded again and again with a great view of the lake landscape. We like to stop at the Rescher Alm to enjoy the great view of lake Reschen and the delicious traditional food before continuing on a gravel and forest path past the border stone. First on a meadow path, then narrower and partly more challenging, the trail leads us from the open terrain into the forest to the idyllic lake Grünsee. After a short challenging part, we reach the lake Schwarzsee. Those who pre-fer not to ride a trail can also use the forest road to Schwarzsee. From here we descend into the valley. We now have a nice choice among the forest road as well as the old "Tiefen Sommerweg" (S1-S2, partly rough) or the family trail (No. 70, S1) to Nauders. For our trail lovers, you may prefer to continue on the 3-Länder Trails to reach Nauders by descending the Oberen Gerry Trail (no. 69, S2) or part of the Kreuzmoos Trail (no. 68, S2) as well as the Familytrail. From the valley we take the cycle path up to the Reschenpass over the border and back to the starting point. Alternatively, we cycle uphill in Nauders via a steep gravel road towards the Bergkastel cable car mountain station. Take the trail Almtrail (S1) in the direction of Plamort. You pass directly by the restaurant Stieralm. From there the trail continues to the Plamort plateau and then joins the Plamorttrail. After passing the tank barriers, a small trail climb opens up a stunning view over the Vinschgau Valley with its unique lake landscape. The descent to Reschen either by following the Bunker Trail (S2), which is technically more demanding in parts, with the following Etsch Trail (S1), which dives into the forest, or by following the forest road to the village of Reschen. At the end of September, the rutting of the Red deer begins in the Stelvio National Park. Dressed warmly, we listen to the roaring of the male deer echoing through the autumn forests. With any luck, we may also observe them. On Sunday, 29/09/2024 the event will take place all day for nature photographers.

Guided E-Bike Tour From our starting point in Reschen we cycle to our further meeting point in Graun. This is where our tour begins. We cycle eastwards into the wonderful Langtauferer Tal valley. We first follow a country road that leads to Melag and use the turn-off in Kapron. In Kapron we turn right in the direction of Riegl and then follow the forest road to the Kaproner Alm (1,960 m). From here we continue slightly up and down to the Masebner Alm. Both alpine huts are not managed, so we now cycle a little steeper uphill to the Maseben mountain hut at 2,267m in order to stop here and enjoy the traditional food. Now we cycle back to the Masebner Alm and continue towards the valley and in the direction of Karlinbach. Once on the forest road, we turn right and follow a beautiful forest path along the idyllic stream to the Melager Alm. We enjoy the views of the glacier world and then follow the forest path again to Riegl. There the trail climbs briefly to the main road in Kapron, where we return to Reschen via Graun. Our trekking guide Florian - called Llamero in South America - welcomes you in the llama paradise and gives you an insight into the basics of llama keeping as well as the habits and characteristics of these friendly animals. After some exercises in the obstacle course, we will walk together with our llama boys Giacomo, Rocky, Rono, Rambo, Casper and Winnetou through the meadows and forests of the national park and you may let yourselves be touched by their calmness and good-naturedness while you lead them on the leash. Llamas are called the dolphins of the pasture and you will sense it. If desired (at an extra charge), the adults can relax in the llama paradise after the tour until the sausages are ready on the barbecue and the little ones can play archery and games in the Indian teepee. The llamas will watch you and continue to be close to you while snacking on their well-deserved reward. And of course, there will be enough time for photos and videos with our llama troop. Height difference: approx. 150 m Costs: 25 euros/person, 70 euros per family, 15 euros per person who does not lead a llama during the trek, possibility of a barbecue (with sausage, bread and drink) after the tour in the llama enclosure - with surcharge depending on the number of participants. ATTENTION: currently, the tour is only offered in German and Italian Chestnut expert and chairman of the Vinschgau valley chestnut association Max Gögele takes you on a tour of the long history (some are up to 400 years old) and cultivation of chestnut trees in Kortsch/Corzes and Schlanders/Silando and along the Kastanienwaal irrigation channel path before roasting some “Keschtn” to wind down the day in a cozy atmosphere.
