A man wanders in and out of a hospital, enjoying interacting with its occupants – doctors, nurses, patients – without being seen. That man is in a coma, and while his body lies in a hospital bed, his essence wanders around and talks to other patients who are currently separated from their mortal bodies. But when the victim of a car accident falls into a coma and is admitted to what used to be his room, everything changes for the man who used to treat his loneliness as a game. Now he will have to start asking himself some more questions about how much, and how, each of us wants to be in the world.

With our small autumn concert series, we would like to once again present the natural and emotional intelligence of music that is played and mostly composed by ourselves. Oak, glass and breathtaking views: The Cantina Merano Winery is a must-visit for anyone who loves architecture, design and wine. During a guided tour of our winery in St. Martin, many exciting and interesting things await you. Zeitraum, the fifth exhibition in the Mamming Now series, curated by artists Valeria Ferrari and Johannes Inderst, is dedicated to the evocative power of the objects collected in the Palais Mamming depot. The focus is on collective memory and the emotional ties that everyday, often forgotten objects form with our subconscious. The artists regard the ‘understanding, naming and reordering’ of these artefacts as an act of resistance against forgetting. In this way, the objects take on a new meaning that goes far beyond their original function: they are transformed into veritable ‘fetishes of memory’ and create a space for dreams.

Since its opening, the ice rink in the centre of Schenna has enjoyed great popularity. Anyone who wants to take to the ice is in exactly the right place in Schenna. The 12x30 metre artificial ice rink offers locals and guests the chance to do their laps on the shiny surface right in the village centre. Skates and helmets can be rented. A food stall offers warming drinks and snacks. Opening hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM The food stall remains open until 8:00 PM Closed on Tuesdays - except from 24.12. to 06.01.

Franz Wanner's first Italian solo exhibition, curated by Kristina Kreutzwald and Martina Oberprantacher, traces his complex artistic research. Using photography, video, words and objects, the artist investigates the past, focusing on the war industry and the use of forced labour in the context of National Socialism, and its effects on society in the present, bringing to light omissions that have been perpetuated over time. For this exhibition, Franz Wanner has also carried out some specific research on the South Tyrolean context and the use of forced labour during the period of the ‘Zone of Operations in the Pre-Alps’, i.e. when the Province of Bolzano was annexed to Nazi Germany.

Kunst Meran Merano Arte hosts AlpiTypes, dedicated to the contemporary reinterpretation and connection between lettering, typographic design and lettering painting. The exhibition focuses on applied graphics developed in the first half of the 20th century in the area currently corresponding to South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino. Curated by Antonino Benincasa, Massimo Martignoni and Anna Zinelli, AlpiTypes is based on the in-depth research conducted by Benincasa and Martignoni on local graphics. A group of students from the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano, Faculty of Design and Art, accompanied by Antonino Benincasa, reinterpreted historical typefaces from incomplete alphabets, which at the time were often made by hand, integrating the missing characters, revealing how the original typographic concept was inspired by European stylistic currents such as Bauhaus, Rationalism, the Wiener Secession, Constructivism and the Arts and Crafts movement. The project is enhanced by the involvement of international graphic designers, who use the fonts to create contemporary typographic posters. The work highlights a quality and topicality of graphic design in the area that is still almost unknown.

You are witnessing the birth of an offline club: a place for real socialising aimed at those who want to discuss contemporary issues. What is happening in the present and how it affects us is difficult to discuss and often a source of misunderstanding and division.

What we want to develop is a dialogue group based on mutual listening, providing space for constructive discussion to share different ideas and skills in a judgement-free environment, a sort of emancipation from current modes of communication.

Can the logic of emergency and the resulting paradigm shift suddenly undermine and change all this?

The Merano Christmas Markets will officially open on 27th November at 5 pm. The opening ceremony on the terrace of the Kurhaus will start the Advent season, rich in atmosphere and tradition.

From 5.30 pm, the Sunshine Gospel Choir will accompany the evening with its engaging and festive music.

The Christmas houses will remain open until 7 p.m., inviting visitors to stroll among the lights and scents of Christmas in the historic centre.

This winter, we are excited to once again offer an exclusive ice skating course in collaboration with the talented figure skater Sara Furlan. With her many years of experience and passion for the sport, Sara will inspire you with the fun and beauty of ice skating. The courses are divided by age groups: Children aged 3–5: 16:00–17:00 Children aged 6 and older: 17:00–18:00 Sara recommends attending all the sessions to get the most out of the training. However, if you can only attend a single session, that is also possible. Christmas Celebration on December 20th: As a special highlight, Sara invites you to a small Christmas celebration on December 20th at 5PM. The children will have the opportunity to show their parents what they’ve learned. Afterwards, we will enjoy a festive drink together at the snack stand.

The Plonerhof winery in Marling invites you to an exclusive wine tasting and cellar tour every Thursday at 3:00 PM, year-round (except during harvest). Experience how passion and expertise create exceptional wines. During the tour, you will learn interesting details about viticulture and wine production. In the cellar, the secrets of winemaking will be revealed. Finally, the wine tasting completes this unique experience. At the Plonerhof winery, a variety of wines are produced on steep vineyard rows with inclines of up to 40%. The house’s cuvées are especially impressive, standing out for their unique diversity and the combination of exceptional grapes. On Friday, 28th November, the vigilius mountain resort will become a gathering place for wine enthusiasts. The Vigiljoch Wine Festival celebrates regional wine culture and personal encounters – set amidst unique architecture at 1,500 metres above sea level.

Winemakers from the foothills of the Vigiljoch will present their wines in person that evening. Through direct conversation with the producers, you’ll gain insight into the origin, cultivation, and philosophy behind each individual drop.

The wine tasting will be accompanied by a flying dinner from Chef Daniel Sanin’s kitchen, creatively reinterpreting regional ingredients in a modern way.

Together with our hosts Ulrich and Ingrid Ladurner, we warmly welcome you – to an evening that will resonate.
