Excursion with the forest rangers of the Stelvio National Park in Val d'Ultimo. Starting from the end of September, with the return of autumn, the roar of the red deer echoes through the forests of the Stelvio National Park. Well covered from the evening cold and with a bit of luck, you will not only hear the animals but also have the chance to observe them. • Duration: 5 hours • You need: Outdoor clothing, headlamp, backpack (with spare clothes, rain jacket, snacks and drinks), hiking boots, headlamp is recommended • Difficulty: easy • Difference in height uphill 400 m, difference in height downhill 220 m • Tour length: 6,5 km • Price: 20€ including breakfast at the mountain hut • Free transport by shuttle bus from S. An afternoon dedicated to apples in the company of the ‘sommelier of apples'. In the orchard he tells how this fruit is cultivated and what characteristics differentiate the different varieties. During the tasting takes participants on a journey through flavours, scents textures and aromas and shows how versatile the apple can be in the kitchen. (In German and Italian language) Price: free. Approach from Stuls/Stulles to the Rafeinhof farm. Follow the original trail called "Jaufenkamm" no. 16 through the forest and across mountain meadows to the summit with ist panoramic views of the Ötztal, Stubai, Sarntal und Zillertal Alps. Fancy some fresh mountain air and stunning views? Then join our hiking guide Heinrich – along a section of the Merano High Mountain Trail! After a short bus ride, our tour begins in Vernuer/Vernurio. From there, we head down the valley along the Merano High Mountain Trail – one of the region's most famous hiking routes. Along the way, we'll enjoy magnificent views of the Etschtal Valley and a diverse natural landscape. In the Kuensertal Valley, the trail continues along the Kuenser Waalweg. This peaceful and pleasant path winds through shady forest sections, accompanied by the gentle trickling of water – perfect for taking a deep breath and relaxing. Our return journey takes us back to Rifiano. Walking time: approx. 3,5 h | Difference in altitude: approx. 180 m ascent and 890 m descent The hike will be in German and Italian.

Fancy a varied hike where you can discover the secrets of nature? This guided tour in the Texelgruppe Nature Park not only offers exciting insights into flora and fauna, but also runs along a particularly scenic section of the Merano High Mountain Trail, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. From Magdfeld, we follow the high trail with magnificent panoramic views over the Passeiertal Valley and the surrounding mountains. At this quiet altitude, with a little attention you can also observe the birdlife - whether chirping in the bushes or as silent shadows in the sky. The descent towards Saltaus/Saltusio begins at Riederberg. From there, we follow the Schildhöfeweg trail past traditional farms that have characterised the valley for centuries - a piece of living cultural history. Our hike ends in the small village of Quellenhof/Sorgente. You will be accompanied by a trained nature park guide, who will provide fascinating insights along the way: which plants grow here? How does the landscape change throughout the year? Which animals are native, and how do humans and nature share this space? The tour is part of a series of nine guided hikes through the Texelgruppe Nature Park - each with a different destination, each path offering new perspectives. Walking time: approx. 2.5 h | Difference in altitude: approx. 70 m in ascent and approx. 700 m in descent The event will be in German and Italian.

We reach ‘Hofmahd’ in Val d'Ultimo, just before the village of Proves, where we begin our walk. We pass the Castrin alpine hut and along slopes dotted with orchids and alpine roses we reach the ‘Laugenjöchl’ yoke. Here we take the well-known Bonacossa path, cross the slopes below the summit of the Great Luco and along trail no. 10 we reach the Luco alpine pasture. From here a forest path leads to the Passo Palade, from where the bus takes us back to Lana. Altitude difference: approx. 300 m Walking time: approx. 5-5.5 hours Difficulty level: easy

Light barriers and stop watches are of no concern!

In Schenna, South Tyrol's "fifth season" is celebrated with the Törggele afternoons at the Raiffeisen Square. Various stalls offer South Tyrolean specialities to taste and buy. Of course, roasted chestnuts and new wine, the so-called Sußer, are not to be missed. Musical accompaniment is also provided!

The autumn custom of Törggelen has a centuries-old tradition in South Tyrol. After the successful harvest in autumn, the farmers of the area met and celebrated with new wine, cabbage and smoked meat, doughnuts and chestnuts. To this day, Törggelen is considered by South Tyroleans to be an expression of conviviality and joie de vivre. Traditional Törggelen at the village fountain in the centre of Naturno from 14.30 - 17.30 with roasted chestnuts, new wine and music. In October a flea market takes place at the same time at the town hall square from 9 am - 5 pm.

History, Traditions and Wine Culture During this personal tour with wine connoisseur and host Walter, you'll gain fascinating insights into the history and traditions of winemaking in the Burggrafenamt region. As the name suggests, this visit is an experience for all the senses, with many varied highlights to explore at the Rochelehof adventure cellar. Registration required: Until Friday, 12 noon online or at the Tourist Association Marling. The event takes place in German. Limited number of participants! No dogs allowed.

Gardener Judith loves to show them off at their finest in attractive plant pots. In this workshop, she will be showing you how to arrange natural materials and succulent plants to create a desert oasis-style landscape within a bowl. Succulent bowls make a fabulous design feature for every home. Please bring: one or two small clay or ceramic bowls with a diameter of approx. 30 cm. Additionally: Gloves and a pruning shears. The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle will supply all other materials.

Autumn Festival of the Algund Brass Band On Sunday, October 5th, the Algund Brass Band invites you to their second Autumn Festival. Starting at 11:00 AM, enjoy a festive atmosphere with delicious food and great music. Four different music groups will provide entertainment this year: the Algund Youth Band, the philharmonic brass band from Zollernalb, a surprise new ensemble from the Algund Brass Band members, and the renowned "Fetzmusig," a brass ensemble from the Burggrafenamt that has been performing for over 20 years and includes several members of the Algund Brass Band. Culinary delights will be provided by the well-known kitchen of Gasthaus Kienegg in Vellau! The festival will continue until the early evening, and the Algund Brass Band looks forward to welcoming many visitors!

On Sunday, October 5, from 10:00 to 18:00, the traditional "Törggelen" festivity of the Marling folk dance group will take place on the Marling fairground. Food and drink will be provided. The morning pint starts at 10 a.m. Hearty traditional Törggelen with delicious roasted chestnuts and a glass of sweet wine are served from midday onwards. A youth band and a music group will provide atmospheric entertainment. You can look forward to a convivial Törggelen afternoon. The Marling folk dance group is looking forward to seeing you!

Why are leaves colourful? What kinds of fruit grow at the gardens? Are things still flowering? The Autumn Day offers a varied program in the gardens: see, hear, smell, touch. Visitors of all ages can join in on an intriguing botanical experience.

Exhibitors from Five Countries For the 47th time, the large international collectors’ fair, Lanaphil, will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Lana/South Tyrol. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will be a meeting point for collectors. About 50 exhibitors and many collectors will be present in the large hall, the foyer, and on the stage of the Raiffeisenhaus in Lana. Exhibitors and visitors from the following five countries will participate: Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and the Czech Republic. Twice a Year Collectors’ Fair The founder and organizer, Albert Innerhofer, a passionate collector of old and historical postcards, first organized this collectors' meeting in Lana on October 22, 2000. Since then, the event has been very popular, taking place twice a year—once in April and once in October—in the Raiffeisenhaus of Lana, South Tyrol. Thanks to visits to many collectors' fairs both in Italy and abroad, many friendships and contacts with other collectors have developed, some of which have lasted for decades and are still ongoing today. At this fair, old historical postcards, stamps (including personalized stamps), coins, letters, pre-philatelic items, historical stock certificates, banknotes, military items, and other memorabilia such as books, engravings, old photos, and accessories will be available for trade, purchase, or sale. Personalized Stamps Each year at Lanaphil, new personalized stamps are released. Currently, the following personalized stamps are available: Heinrich Dalla Rosa (1909-1945), a priest from Lana who was executed by the Nazis on January 24, 1945 – 2024 Dipl.-Ing. Dr. h.c.
