The Merano Christmas Market provides a magical atmosphere, with daily
concerts, children’s entertainment, local customs and handicrafts. There are other Christmas markets in Merano and Environs too, offering textiles, jewelry, ceramics, glass and wooden objects. Closed on 25th December.

LUMAGICA transforms the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle into a magical world of lights. Under the motto “Sissi’s Journey Around the World”, visitors can look forward to artistic light installations, interactive elements, and atmospheric scenes inspired by the joie de vivre and dream destinations of Austrian Empress Elisabeth.

The christmas forest once again opens its doors and invites visitors into an atmospheric winter world. Since its opening, the ice rink in the centre of Schenna has enjoyed great popularity. Anyone who wants to take to the ice is in exactly the right place in Schenna. The 12x30 metre artificial ice rink offers locals and guests the chance to do their laps on the shiny surface right in the village centre. Skates and helmets can be rented. A food stall offers warming drinks and snacks. Opening hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM The food stall remains open until 8:00 PM Closed on Tuesdays - except from 24.12. to 06.01.

Zeitraum, the fifth exhibition in the Mamming Now series, curated by artists Valeria Ferrari and Johannes Inderst, is dedicated to the evocative power of the objects collected in the Palais Mamming depot. The focus is on collective memory and the emotional ties that everyday, often forgotten objects form with our subconscious. The artists regard the ‘understanding, naming and reordering’ of these artefacts as an act of resistance against forgetting. In this way, the objects take on a new meaning that goes far beyond their original function: they are transformed into veritable ‘fetishes of memory’ and create a space for dreams.

Franz Wanner's first Italian solo exhibition, curated by Kristina Kreutzwald and Martina Oberprantacher, traces his complex artistic research. Using photography, video, words and objects, the artist investigates the past, focusing on the war industry and the use of forced labour in the context of National Socialism, and its effects on society in the present, bringing to light omissions that have been perpetuated over time. For this exhibition, Franz Wanner has also carried out some specific research on the South Tyrolean context and the use of forced labour during the period of the ‘Zone of Operations in the Pre-Alps’, i.e. when the Province of Bolzano was annexed to Nazi Germany.

Kunst Meran Merano Arte hosts AlpiTypes, dedicated to the contemporary reinterpretation and connection between lettering, typographic design and lettering painting. The exhibition focuses on applied graphics developed in the first half of the 20th century in the area currently corresponding to South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino. Curated by Antonino Benincasa, Massimo Martignoni and Anna Zinelli, AlpiTypes is based on the in-depth research conducted by Benincasa and Martignoni on local graphics. A group of students from the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano, Faculty of Design and Art, accompanied by Antonino Benincasa, reinterpreted historical typefaces from incomplete alphabets, which at the time were often made by hand, integrating the missing characters, revealing how the original typographic concept was inspired by European stylistic currents such as Bauhaus, Rationalism, the Wiener Secession, Constructivism and the Arts and Crafts movement. The project is enhanced by the involvement of international graphic designers, who use the fonts to create contemporary typographic posters. The work highlights a quality and topicality of graphic design in the area that is still almost unknown.

Our fluffy llamas and alpacas are the best companions for hikes and at the same time balm for the soul. We offer hikes with the good-natured, curious and intelligent animals through the nature of Vöran – far away from noise and hectic. No hikes in case of bad weather. Limited number of participants.

This winter, we are excited to once again offer an exclusive ice skating course in collaboration with the talented figure skater Sara Furlan. With her many years of experience and passion for the sport, Sara will inspire you with the fun and beauty of ice skating. The courses are divided by age groups: Children aged 3–5: 16:00–17:00 Children aged 6 and older: 17:00–18:00 Sara recommends attending all the sessions to get the most out of the training. However, if you can only attend a single session, that is also possible. Christmas Celebration on December 20th: As a special highlight, Sara invites you to a small Christmas celebration on December 20th at 5PM. The children will have the opportunity to show their parents what they’ve learned. Afterwards, we will enjoy a festive drink together at the snack stand.

The Marlinger Festival Square Becomes a Winter Oasis!

From 29 November to 25 January, the ice skating rink invites you to enjoy the magic of winter on the ice. Whether you want to try elegant spins or simply glide with family and friends, there’s fun for everyone. The skate rental ensures that no one is left without the right equipment.

Of course, there are also delicious treats available: a cozy food stand offers hot drinks and tasty snacks to warm you up between your skating sessions.

The Plonerhof winery in Marling invites you to an exclusive wine tasting and cellar tour every Thursday at 3:00 PM, year-round (except during harvest). The guided tours take place in German on Thursdays and in Italian on Fridays.

Experience how passion and expertise create exceptional wines. During the tour, you will learn interesting details about viticulture and wine production. In the cellar, the secrets of winemaking will be revealed. Finally, the wine tasting completes this unique experience.

At the Plonerhof winery, a variety of wines are produced on steep vineyard rows with inclines of up to 40%. The house’s cuvées are especially impressive, standing out for their unique diversity and the combination of exceptional grapes. The winery is located in a unique position, where the interplay of climate, soil, and the mountain ranges around Merano creates ideal conditions for viticulture. Argo's story "is a “great little book” that strikes you straight to the heart. It makes you want to enter those events, uncovering the unspoken, giving voice to the silences, rediscovering History. The desire of Maria Ariis - one of the extraordinary performers in the show - has, therefore, also become mine. To translate all this on stage. Making active and emotional memory is the task of theatre. And everyone in life can meet Argo, that dog who reminds you who you are and where you come from' writes Serena Sinigaglia, director of this new play. An excellent writer and translator, Ciani experienced as a child the exodus from Pola, Istria, after the Second World War and recounts that tear with delicacy, through the separation from her dog York. York like Argo, Ulysses' dog, symbol of ‘home’, of waiting and of faithful friendship. His novel Storia di Argo has the breath of poetry, never falling into polemic or essay. Sinigaglia translates it on stage as a confrontation between generations: a grandmother who lived through the exodus, a mother who knew it from her mother, and a daughter who knows nothing about it confront each other today, in an intimate and human way, on that piece of history: the family dimension compared with the historical one, yesterday, today, tomorrow.
