Fancy a varied hike where you can discover the secrets of nature? This guided tour in the Texelgruppe Nature Park not only offers exciting insights into flora and fauna, but also runs along a particularly scenic section of the Merano High Mountain Trail, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. From Magdfeld, we follow the high trail with magnificent panoramic views over the Passeiertal Valley and the surrounding mountains. At this quiet altitude, with a little attention you can also observe the birdlife - whether chirping in the bushes or as silent shadows in the sky. The descent towards Saltaus/Saltusio begins at Riederberg. From there, we follow the Schildhöfeweg trail past traditional farms that have characterised the valley for centuries - a piece of living cultural history. Our hike ends in the small village of Quellenhof/Sorgente. You will be accompanied by a trained nature park guide, who will provide fascinating insights along the way: which plants grow here? How does the landscape change throughout the year? Which animals are native, and how do humans and nature share this space? The tour is part of a series of nine guided hikes through the Texelgruppe Nature Park - each with a different destination, each path offering new perspectives. We reach ‘Hofmahd’ in Val d'Ultimo, just before the village of Proves, where we begin our walk. We pass the Castrin alpine hut and along slopes dotted with orchids and alpine roses we reach the ‘Laugenjöchl’ yoke. Here we take the well-known Bonacossa path, cross the slopes below the summit of the Great Luco and along trail no. 10 we reach the Luco alpine pasture. From here a forest path leads to the Passo Palade, from where the bus takes us back to Lana. Altitude difference: approx. 300 m Walking time: approx. 5-5.5 hours Difficulty level: easy

Breath-taking views, culinary highlights and wonderful rides through the mild South Tyrolean autumn landscape are once again at the heart of the Südtirol Classic – Golden Edition from September 30th to October 5th, 2025. Light barriers and stop watches are of no concern!

Fresh roasted chestnuts, "Strauben" (typical dessert in South Tyrol) and drinks with musical entertainment at the clubhouse in Nals.

In Schenna, South Tyrol's "fifth season" is celebrated with the Törggele afternoons at the Raiffeisen Square. Various stalls offer South Tyrolean specialities to taste and buy. Of course, roasted chestnuts and new wine, the so-called Sußer, are not to be missed. Musical accompaniment is also provided!

The autumn custom of Törggelen has a centuries-old tradition in South Tyrol. After the successful harvest in autumn, the farmers of the area met and celebrated with new wine, cabbage and smoked meat, doughnuts and chestnuts. To this day, Törggelen is considered by South Tyroleans to be an expression of conviviality and joie de vivre. Traditional Törggelen at the village fountain in the centre of Naturno from 14.30 - 17.30 with roasted chestnuts, new wine and music. In October a flea market takes place at the same time at the town hall square from 9 am - 5 pm.

History, Traditions and Wine Culture During this personal tour with wine connoisseur and host Walter, you'll gain fascinating insights into the history and traditions of winemaking in the Burggrafenamt region. As the name suggests, this visit is an experience for all the senses, with many varied highlights to explore at the Rochelehof adventure cellar. Registration required: Until Friday, 12 noon online or at the Tourist Association Marling. The event takes place in German. Limited number of participants! No dogs allowed.

Autumn Festival of the Algund Brass Band On Sunday, October 5th, the Algund Brass Band invites you to their second Autumn Festival. Starting at 11:00 AM, enjoy a festive atmosphere with delicious food and great music. Four different music groups will provide entertainment this year: the Algund Youth Band, the philharmonic brass band from Zollernalb, a surprise new ensemble from the Algund Brass Band members, and the renowned "Fetzmusig," a brass ensemble from the Burggrafenamt that has been performing for over 20 years and includes several members of the Algund Brass Band. Culinary delights will be provided by the well-known kitchen of Gasthaus Kienegg in Vellau! The festival will continue until the early evening, and the Algund Brass Band looks forward to welcoming many visitors!

On Sunday, October 5, from 10:00 to 18:00, the traditional "Törggelen" festivity of the Marling folk dance group will take place on the Marling fairground. Food and drink will be provided. The morning pint starts at 10 a.m. Hearty traditional Törggelen with delicious roasted chestnuts and a glass of sweet wine are served from midday onwards. A youth band and a music group will provide atmospheric entertainment. You can look forward to a convivial Törggelen afternoon. The Marling folk dance group is looking forward to seeing you!

Why are leaves colourful? What kinds of fruit grow at the gardens? Are things still flowering? The Autumn Day offers a varied program in the gardens: see, hear, smell, touch. Visitors of all ages can join in on an intriguing botanical experience.

Exhibitors from Five Countries For the 47th time, the large international collectors’ fair, Lanaphil, will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Lana/South Tyrol. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will be a meeting point for collectors. About 50 exhibitors and many collectors will be present in the large hall, the foyer, and on the stage of the Raiffeisenhaus in Lana. Exhibitors and visitors from the following five countries will participate: Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and the Czech Republic. Twice a Year Collectors’ Fair The founder and organizer, Albert Innerhofer, a passionate collector of old and historical postcards, first organized this collectors' meeting in Lana on October 22, 2000. Since then, the event has been very popular, taking place twice a year—once in April and once in October—in the Raiffeisenhaus of Lana, South Tyrol. Thanks to visits to many collectors' fairs both in Italy and abroad, many friendships and contacts with other collectors have developed, some of which have lasted for decades and are still ongoing today. At this fair, old historical postcards, stamps (including personalized stamps), coins, letters, pre-philatelic items, historical stock certificates, banknotes, military items, and other memorabilia such as books, engravings, old photos, and accessories will be available for trade, purchase, or sale. Personalized Stamps Each year at Lanaphil, new personalized stamps are released. Currently, the following personalized stamps are available: Heinrich Dalla Rosa (1909-1945), a priest from Lana who was executed by the Nazis on January 24, 1945 – 2024 Dipl.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Luis Zuegg (1876-1955) from Lana, marking the 140th anniversary of his birth – 2016 800 years of the gift of St. Margareth Church in Lana to the Teutonic Order (1214–2014) 500 years of the altar by Hans Schnatterpeck in Lana (1508–2008) 100 years of the Lana-Vigiljoch Cable Car (1912–2012)

Join us on an exciting hike through the alpine Seebertal Valley! We start in Moos/Moso and drive together to the Seeberkehre hairpin bend, the starting point of our tour. From there, we'll walk to Seebersee lake, surrounded by moraines, debris walls, and deep crevices: impressive remnants of once-powerful glaciers. Along the way, you'll learn how nature has adapted to the harsh conditions. Despite the seemingly inhospitable environment, plants and animals have found their place here. Let yourself be inspired by the history of the glaciers and the unique flora and fauna. After the hike, enjoy the panoramic views with a delicious lunch at Oberglaneggalm hut. ONLY IN GERMAN! From the beginning of October, at the end of the grape harvest, until the beginning of the pre-Christmas season is "Törggelezeit". After leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape, guests and South Tyroleans enjoy the products of the harvest, especially chestnuts and new wine (Sußer). On this week's hike we visit the Holznerhof. We take the bus from the village centre of Schenna up to Verdins and hike via the Wieser Steig through the Vallplatz forest to the Holznerhof and after a cosy stop we descend to the Pichler restaurant. From the starting point you are free to decide whether to return on foot or by bus. A Törggelemenü and hearty music are of course not to be missed! The starting point is Weißbrunn at the far end of the Ultental Valley. We hike through larches and Zirmenwald forest high above the valley to the rear Flatschberg Alm. After a good rest, we descend to St. Gertraud. Altitude difference: Ascent 490 m, descent 600 m. Walking time: approx. 3.5 hours Difficulty: easy hike

What could be better than combining hiking and enjoyment in autumn? Grab your rucksack, put on your hiking boots and join us on a relaxing hike to the Wildschützhütte hut above Stuls/Stulles. Let yourself be enchanted by the colorful autumn landscape, enjoy the peaceful silence and the very special view from the Stuller Mahder. Once at the top, regional delicacies and various cooking stations - from chestnuts to other seasonal dishes - await you. Have you ever seen the inside of a hydroelectric power plant? Do you know how eco-friendly electricity is generated from water? The Passeiertal Valley is one of the most water-rich valleys in South Tyrol. For decades, the power of water has been harnessed here to produce sustainable energy in numerous hydroelectric power stations. On a hike from St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo along part of the impressive Passer Gorge "Passerschlucht", you'll have the opportunity to visit the Gomion power plant. During an exciting guided tour, Sepp will tell you more about the history and technology of the facility – you'll get first-hand insight into how clean electricity is generated from water. Along the way, we'll stop for a break at the Hinterbruggerhof inn and enjoy a traditional "Marendebrettl" with regional specialties. After this cozy rest, we'll head back to St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo feeling refreshed. Walking time: approx. 2.5 h | Difference in altitude: approx. 230 m The event will be in German.

Alpine Folk Music Evening in Algund On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the Raiffeisen Hall at the house of culture Thalguter in Algund will transform into a place filled with traditional Alpine sounds. Starting at 8:30 PM, you can enjoy an evening of authentic folk music from the Alpine region, performed by outstanding music groups. Performers: Die Herwärtigen: Tanzlmusig Algund Die Hoamstanzer Michael Andreas Haas with a guitar solo from Reutte/Tyrol The lively group "Wetterhexn" The evening will be guided by Barbara Plattner. Locals and guests are warmly invited to share in this wonderful event. Admission is a voluntary donation. The South Tyrolean Folk Music Association, Burggrafenamt, and the Tourist Office Algund look forward to your attendance and wish you an enjoyable evening!

Hidden in the upper Passeiertal Valley at 2,355 meters lies the historic Schneeberg mine. It was once the largest ore mining area in Europe. Since 1967, operations have ceased. Join hiking guide Franz on this exciting tour and learn first-hand about the history of mining and the tough lives of the miners. After the ascent, we'll stop at the mountain hut in St. Martin am Schneeberg for a well-deserved lunch. Afterwards, we'll explore the adventure mine and experience the tunnels up close. Walking time: approx. 4.5 h | Difference in altitude: approx. 680 m in ascent and approx. 800 m in descent The event will be in German and Italian.
