Ancient crafts come to life on site: watch, discover, and marvel at how things used to be made. On Sunday, November 30th, the Peter Mitterhofer Typewriter Museum will host an Open House from 10 AM to 6 PM in celebration of the Partschins Advent Market.

This young couple brings great enthusiasm and love to their music. Their repertoire features harmonized arrangements and interpretations of popular pop, jazz, R&B, and funk songs.

The rural Christmas Market in Partschins is a very unique and picturesque one, taking place in the authentic ambience of the historic church square. In rustic stands you can find precious regional products as well as gastronomic specialties.

In the Christmas card workshop with Maria Jocher, kids can become little artists, stamping, printing, and decorating their own unique cards. A proud and joyful way to get into the holiday spirit!

Brennet Liab enchants with festive brass melodies, bringing the pure Christmas spirit directly to the christmas market Algund – an experience for music lovers and families alike. The group is made up of selected musicians from the Burggrafenamt area around Merano and is complemented by a Styrian accordion. The four brass players explore a wide range of musical genres, including folk music, jazz, and classical pieces. They perform with joy and passion, a enthusiasm that hopefully spreads to the audience and makes the festive spirit of Advent come alive.

Various choirs and music groups welcome the Advent season with reflective and enchanting songs. Afterwards warm drinks and pastries are served for everyone. This is what Advent should be.

The magic of Christmas shines brighter than ever! With our new Christmas lights, we set a radiant symbol of community, hope, and joyful anticipation for the most wonderful time of the year. At the opening event, we want to join together, accompanied by the children’s choir and the lights that brighten the night, to welcome the Advent season.

A cozy evening in the church of Saltaus/Saltusio invites everyone to join in Advent singing. The Jägerchor Passeier (hunter's chorus from Passeiertal Valley), the Bläsergruppe Saltaus (brass ensemble of Saltaus/Saltusio), and the Frauenchor St. Martin (women’s choir of St. Martin/S. Martino) perform traditional Advent and Christmas songs, creating a contemplative and festive atmosphere. Get into the spirit of Advent and enjoy musical highlights together.

Twinkling lights, scent of pine—and a question: How much does the traditional nativity scene weigh? On site, a handcrafted nativity scene by nativity master Helga Prünster will be displayed, and visitors can guess its weight. Whoever comes closest wins the nativity! Each participant may submit one guess and will receive a number to present at the drawing on December 21, 2025. Important: Only those present at the drawing can claim the prize.

Franco Branciaroli is the protagonist of Sior Todero Brontolon, a masterpiece by Carlo Goldoni presented in 1762 at the Teatro San Luca in Venice and received with great warmth right from its debut. Miserly, imperious, irritating with the servants, oppressive with his son and granddaughter, distrustful and touchy towards the world: it would seem impossible to empathise with Sior Todero Brontolon. Nonetheless, the indefinable ‘brontolòn’ has attracted actors of the calibre of Cesco Baseggio, Giulio Bosetti or Gastone Moschin, and it is now Branciaroli, a master of the contemporary stage, who offers an extraordinary and unexpected new interpretation directed by Paolo Valerio. It was Goldoni himself who was amazed at how a text centred on such an odious and negative character had achieved such success. Needless to say, the topicality and peculiarities of his Todero are unscathed even today. For the first time, Valerio's direction brings together Goldoni's world with that of puppets, two universes that meet in the microcosm of a real and imaginary place. A reinterpretation conducted with strict philological respect for the text and that - at the same time - brings to the stage an original intuition such as that of the puppets alongside the actors, as their alter egos. Valerio and Branciaroli are preparing to amaze the audience once again with their reinterpretation of a classic of Italian theatre, which can still suggest much to contemporary sensibilities. Just think of the subtle and decisive role that Goldoni entrusts, in the play, to the female world, the only one that in the dramaturgical development appears fully positive. And the finale of the play - at a time when the concept of “patriarchy” dominates our chronicles in its most distorted and leaden meanings - weaves a vein of disturbance into the joyfulness of the resolution. Gala Concert of the Original Tiroler Kaiserjägermusik at the Kursaal Merano The roots of the Kaiserjäger music date back to 1741, when military bands were employed for the first time. The official name “Kaiserjägermusik” was granted to the band on January 16, 1816, after Emperor Franz I issued a decree. The band’s history has been eventful: it was dissolved and re-established several times. On April 25, 1895, the former Tyrolean “Kaiser” Rifle Regiment was divided into four Kaiserjäger regiments, each of which received its own band. However, with the fall of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the Kaiserjäger bands also fell silent. In 1972, the Original Tiroler Kaiserjägermusik was revived by former military bandmaster Obstlt. Prof. Siegfried Somma. Since then, it has been recognized as a musical ambassador of Tyrol and has made a significant contribution to preserving Austria’s military-historical traditions. Under the direction of the new bandmaster Norbert Amon and with outstanding musicians from over 30 Tyrolean communities and in some cases even beyond the band has earned a special place in the local brass music scene and enjoys wide recognition far beyond the region. Monasteries are becoming increasingly empty, and yet the longing for their peace and spiritual depth continues to grow. Life in seclusion, however, is also changing. In sixteen reports, author Helmut Luther offers authentic insights from behind monastery walls: he meets a Benedictine monk who practices karate, a former soldier engaged in interreligious dialogue, and a young Elizabethan sister who runs a podcast. Between silence, work, and prayer, we encounter people who have found a special kind of freedom and happiness in monastic life.

Helmut Luther:
Born in Merano in 1961, he studied philosophy and history in Innsbruck. His historical research and travels have taken him all over the world. He has published numerous travel reports in Die Zeit, FAZ, Die Welt, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and other publications.
