An easy hike through larch woods and the romantic Fischleintal valley, to the very foot of the Einserkofel.

This easy excursion is dedicated to the famous pioneer of mountaineering Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell and leads from Schmieden/Ferrara to the impressive Pragser Wildsee lake. You mostly walk through the beautiful and characteristical wood, which represents the original access to the lake.

The hike through the quiet Silvestertal/ Valle San Silvestro valley leads mostly through the forest. If you look closely you maybe can even see wild tracks in the snow.

The easy winter walk takes around the idyllic lake of Dobbiaco/Toblach.

A nature trail around the lake with 11 stations provides valuable information on the vegetation, wildlife and geomorphology of the area.

A leisurely walk from Sesto over the Mitterberg/Monte di mezzo to the Gasthof Panorama with a wonderful view of the sundial of Sesto.

Very easy walk on the "Kirchweg" path with a view over the Pustertal valley. Starting point: Säge/Segheria (1206 m)

An entertaining alpine circuit for the entire family!                                                             

This hike leads around the beautifully situated Toblacher See. A nature adventure trail with 11 stations around the lake provides valuable information about the flora, fauna and geomorphology of the area and, above all, explains the special features of Lake Dobbiaco. The viewing platform on the west bank offers a place to rest and a view of the flora and fauna and the silting zone. In addition, the special and very varied panorama of the circular route should be mentioned.

Hiking on Sesto's sunny side The Carnic Ridge and the Dolomites - two mountain ranges with contrasts that attract in Sesto. Walking along the Helm/ Monte Elmo means experiencing the day with the most beautiful panoramic views.

The panoramic path to Gandelle/Kandellen offers a beautiful view of the surrounding Dolomite peaks.

The winter hike passes the source of the Drava/Drau River. The Drava/Drau is a river of 749 km which takes origin in the field of Dobbiaco/Toblach and crosses Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary.

A wonderful option on foot or on cross-country skis from Negerdorf via Saumahd to Klammbachalm and Nemesalm.

The cultural round tour passes at all famous churches and chapels at Dobbiaco/Toblach. The parisch church of St. John the Baptist, the sanctuary of St. Mary, the chapels of Melate/Mellaten, Monte Rota/Ratsberg and Fienili/Stadlern, the church of San Silvestro/Wahlen an the "Leitnstöckl" are visitable.

This roundtrack takes you to the house of Gustav Mahler and the small house of musical creation, where he created his "Symphony No. 9", "Symphony No. 10" (unfinished) and the song cycle "Lied der Erde".

 

Easy hike to one of the most beautiful alpine plateaus in South Tyrol amidst the Fanes-Senes-Prags Nature Park. From Brückele/Ponticello (car park) you go for ½ km along the road and then along the winter hiking path. The last section leads along the road to the alpine plateau. Once at the plateau the alpine guesthouse invites you in.

This moderately difficult winter hike leads up to the Plätzwiese/Prato Piazza, a high plateau at 2,000 m above sea level with a breathtaking view of the Hohe Gaisel/Croda Rossa and the Cristallo.

 

Easy circular trail in the midst of snow-covered forests. From time to time you can enjoy a view of the centre of Schmieden/ Ferrara and the traditional farms on the Pragser Berg mountain.

The panoramic path to Frondeigen/Franadega offers a beautiful view of the surrounding Dolomite peaks.

It is a forest path of cosiness, no altitude difference and no special impulses. You will always have the village of Sesto on your left and pass the famous Sexten cemetery. From the reservoir through the forest to San Candido.
Tips and advices: very little difference of altitude and no special efforts, a comfortable forest way. Pass the cemetery  and also the Stifts Church in San Candido.
Summary: a very nice and calm excursion with the possibility to mix culture and shopping at San Candido.

By car or by foot to Plätzwiese high plateau and from there along the old World War One military road to Dürrensteinhütte hut. This hike above the edge of the forest offers a splendid panoramic view of imposing Dolomite peaks: Hohe Gaisel peak, Tofane and Monte Cristallo. The Dürrensteinhütte hut is open during the entire winter season. Starting point: Plätzwiese high plateau car park (2,000 m) Highest point: Dürrensteinhütte hut (2,050 m)

he Waldkapelle Chapel, an emergency chapel built during the First World War for returning farmers, was used during the Second World War to hold German masses, which were banned by the fascists. The meditation path with 14 stations leads from the Parish Church in Sexten to the Waldkapelle Chapel. Along the way, the stations invite you to pause. To avoid walking back along the same trail, continue along the path and then turn right up towards Gasthof Waldruhe . From there you walk comfortably 
along the asphalt road down to the Hösler Höfe farms and the last stretch along the forest path to the starting point.

When the sun barely comes out for two months in the village of Schmieden/Ferrara and hides behind the vast mountain massif of the Herrenstein peak, the farms just above the village enjoy the bright sunshine. Enjoy the extended view of the Pragsertal Valley during a hike along the sunny side of the village. Starting in Schmieden/Ferrara or St. Veit/S. Vito you follow the road leading to the highest farms in the village. The Moserhof guesthouse awaits you - warm up in the cosy rooms and taste some regional specialities. Starting point: Schmieden/Ferrara (1,222 m) or St. Veit/San Vito (1,340 m) Highest point: Moserhof (1,435 m)
