This easy excursion is dedicated to the famous pioneer of mountaineering Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell and leads from Schmieden/Ferrara to the impressive Pragser Wildsee lake. You mostly walk through the beautiful and characteristical wood, which represents the original access to the lake.
Starting point: Schmieden/Ferrara (1222 m)
Arrival point: Pragser Wildsee lake (1494 m)
Please note: Due to the temperature fluctuations, there may be icy patches on the trails and we therefore recommend the use of crampons!
At Ferrara you follow the forest path with the marker no. 1. After a while, you arrive to the therapeutic bath of Neuprags/Braies Nuova and then shortly after to the lake.
Altitude difference: 272 m – Walking time: 2 h
Valley entrance Prags/Braies – road junction to Pragser Wildsee lake turn right to "Schmieden/Ferrara di Braies".
