The snow is transformed and comes to life through the snow sculpture competition in Selva di Val Gardena. This competition, now in its 28th edition, is an adventure in creativity and originality, where participants challenge themselves by working with a fascinating and intricate medium. The result? Perfect and evocative works that seem to come to life. This competition has now become a tradition, having started in the early '90s. Sculptors and artists, mainly from the valley, who typically work with wood, enjoy three days of creating their giant-sized figures in icy snow. It's a spectacle that you can admire for hours, always discovering new details meticulously carved by the sculptors. This year, the theme of the competition focuses MUSIC, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Wolkenstein music band, which will be celebrated in 2025. The winners of the snow sculpture competition will be chosen by an expert jury. In addition, a People's Choice Award will be awarded separately. The award ceremony will take place on Monday, 30 December 2024 at 4 p.m. on the municipal meadow.

The La Venosta ITT (Individual Time Trial) will take place on Sunday, January 12, 2025. This 12-kilometer time trial in classic technique will be held in Val Venosta (Vinschgau), Italy. As part of the 16th season of the Ski Classics Pro Tour, the race is the fourth event of the season, giving professional athletes the chance to compete on a challenging course to achieve the best time

The Gsiesertal Lauf is one of the best-known and best-loved ski marathons in the entire Alpine region. It is the second largest ski marathon in Italy, and is held on the 3rd weekend in February in the Gsies Valley, South Tyrol (Italy). Ever since it was first held back in 1984, this race has never once been cancelled due to weather conditions. In 2021, the event was cancelled for reasons of force majeure (Corona). The event attracts a great deal of international skiers, with a good forty nations at the starting line every year and a great many World and Olympic Champions listed on the roll of honour. The race runs along two routes, one of 30 km and one of 42 km; the classic race is held on Saturday and the skating race on Sunday. The amateur “Just for Fun” group. with none of the stress of rankings and timekeeping, is also extremely popular, and the programme of events also includes the “Gsiesertal-KIDS-run” on Saturday. Individual athletes, teams of two and the tireless "mountaineers" will tackle 20 km and 2,000 metres in altitude from Bolzano to the Rittner Horn in running shoes and on skis. The participants in the mountaineering category run from the start, complete with ski equipment, for the Ulli Seebacher Prize. Route mountain race: Start in Bozen (Mountainspirit shop), St. Magdalena along hiking trail 6 to Oberbozen, Kaserhof, Riggermoos, Tann, Pemmern (transition area). Route ski tour: From Pemmern ski route along the designated ascent track Feltuner Hütte and ascent Rittner Horn. The starting signal will be given on 2 March 2024 at 9 a.m. in the centre of Bolzano (262 m) and leads over a distance of 20 km and 2,000 metres in altitude to the Rittner Horn (2,260 m). First with running shoes to the Ritten high plateau in Oberbozen, then to Pemmern to the valley station of the Rittner Horn mountain railway and from there on skis to the summit of the Rittner Horn with a fascinating 360° panoramic view of the imposing Dolomites and the surrounding mountains. Both men and women take part in the Horn Attack, individually or as a pair. In the individual competition, athletes take on the challenge alone. In the two-person relay, the pairs alternate in Pemmern. The first athletes run to Pemmern, the second athletes ski to the finish. Participants in the "Mountaineers" category experience pure adrenaline. They start in Bolzano with their ski touring equipment on their backs, walk to Pemmern and then strap on their skis to cover the last 7 kilometres to the Rittner Horn. The participants in this special category will be honoured with the "Ulli Seebacher" prize in memory of the co-founder of the Hornattacke, who died too young. Online registration is open until 28 February 2024. Those who register by 31 December enjoy an early bird price of €50 for individual participants, €100 for the two-person relay and €50 for climbers. All participants are required to present a valid sports medical certificate when their race number is issued. The countdown for the fifth edition of the Hornattacke is on. In March, the ski slopes and mountain tops of the Seiser Alm will reverberate with sweet melodies. Six days long, amid dazzling sunshine and snow-capped mountains, skiers and snowboarders, as they glide across the slopes, will be able to enjoy sweet melodies and dynamic rhythms provided by accomplished musicians. "Swing on Snow" is an opportunity to listen to and enjoy authentic Alpine folk music – with the emphasis on "authentic". The bands play on the various ski slopes on the Seiser Alm in the morning, at lunchtime they perform in the mountain huts of the Seiser Alm and in the evening the villages of Castelrotto, Siusi, Fiè and Tires host atmospheric after ski concerts. The concerts are free of charge and there is no seat reservation needed. During the WinterMusicFestvial musical enjoyment combines perfectly with skiing. The 17th edition of Swing on Snow will take place twice over three days from 13.03.-15.03.2025 and from 19.03.-21.03.2025.

The Südtirol Gardenissima is a prestigious alpine skiing race held annually in Val Gardena. It is known as the longest giant slalom in the world, with an impressive 6-kilometer track that runs from the summit of Seceda to the base station of Col Raiser. The Südtirol Gardenissima attracts participants of various skill levels, allowing all ski enthusiasts to experience the uniqueness of this race. Every year, 700 participants from different countries around the world take part, emphasizing the popularity and significance of this event in the international skiing calendar. The 27th edition of the Südtirol Gardenissima will take place on March 29 and, as always, will bring together some of the best Italian and international athletes, along with well-known personalities from the skiing world.

Vintage, that is the motto of the Alta Badia Ski Carousel Vintage Party, which takes place during the last ski season weekend on the ski slopes, in the ski huts and in different spots in the valley. Saturday is already all about vintage in some of the mountain huts.
