The toboggan world cup in Deutschnofen takes place on the „Pfösl Riep“ natural toboggan run, which is one of the most well-known tracks in South Tyrol. The course is challenging and offers athletes a combination of tight curves and technical sections. It winds through the beautiful South Tyrolean landscape and is highly popular among athletes and spectators for its difficulty and scenic beauty.

The magic of the Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina, which will take place for the 49th time on the weekend of 17th and 18th January 2026, is unbroken. The Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina is one of the most traditional and popular cross-country skiing races, with its enchanting routes capable of immersing lovers of narrow skis in the marvellous setting of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites of Alta Pusteria and the Ampezzo peaks. The dates for the 2026 edition have been confirmed for the aforementioned weekend, with the event returning to the popular format. For both routes, the start will be at the military airfield in Dobbiaco. The 42 km classic race track, after a short stretch towards San Candido, heads towards to Dobbiaco, passing through the town and continuing towards Lake Dobbiaco, the War Cemetery, Lake Landro, Tre Cime di Lavaredo View Point, Val Fonda, Carbonin, and Cimabanche Pass. After reaching the highest and turning point at over 1,500 meters above sea level, the race track returns to Dobbiaco heading towards the finish line at the Nordic Arena cross-country stadium. The 35km free technique race largely replicates the classic route, with a slightly shortened route after the start and in Carbonin, heading directly towards Dobbiaco.

The Dumpling Pleasure Marathon – An event where active fun, nature and cuisine come together! Along the 50 km Val Casies cross-country trail, skiers can join at many access points and set their own pace. Walkers use the signposted winter hiking paths that lead past participating venues. From 11:00–16:00, hosts serve dumpling specialities – from hearty speck dumplings to beetroot and herb dumplings, through to dumplings with goulash; for dessert, sweet dumplings. It’s about the experience, not the race.

The women's giant slalom on the Erta has now established itself as a renowned race and can no longer be missed in the ski scene. The Erta slope is quite impressive - with a length of 1,325 m, a difference in altitude of 405 m and a maximum gradient of 61%, it demands the fullest skill and a large portion of courage from the participants.

The Gsiesertal Lauf is one of the best-known and best-loved ski marathons in the entire Alpine region. It is the second largest ski marathon in Italy, and is held on the 3rd weekend in February in the Val Casies Valley, South Tyrol (Italy). Ever since it was first held back in 1984, this race has never once been cancelled due to weather conditions. In 2021, the event was cancelled for reasons of force majeure (Corona). The event attracts a great deal of international skiers, with a good forty nations at the starting line every year and a great many World and Olympic Champions listed on the roll of honour. In 2026, it will take place at the same time as the ‘Milan-Cortina Olympics’. This is a unique opportunity for all participants to experience some Olympic competitions either in the neighbouring Antholz Valley or in Cortina (distance 35 km) in addition to their own sporting activities. The race runs along two routes, one of 30 km and one of 42 km; the classic race is held on Saturday and the skating race on Sunday. The amateur “Just for Fun” group. with none of the stress of rankings and timekeeping, is also extremely popular, and the programme of events also includes the “Gsiesertal KIDS Run” on Saturday.

20 kilometres, 2,000 metres of elevation gain – a unique mountain running and ski touring race from Bolzano/Bozen to the Rittner Horn. On Saturday, March 7, 2026, the 7th edition of the Horn Attacke will take place – a spectacular duathlon combining running and ski mountaineering on the Ritten Plateau. Within just a few years, the Horn Attacke has become a key event in both the Italian and international mountain sports calendar. The legendary course is as demanding as it is impressive: over 20 kilometres, participants conquer 2,000 metres of altitude gain, divided between a running and a ski touring section. The race starts right in the centre of Bolzano/Bozen. From there, the route follows hiking trail no. 6 up to Oberbozen and continues to Pemmern, where the transition zone is located. Here, athletes switch from running shoes to touring skis and tackle the final 7 kilometres to the finish line at the Rittner Horn (2,260 m). The goal of the day is clear – and already announced in the event’s name: the “attack” on the Rittner Horn. The duathlon is much more than a niche race – it’s a true adventure for all mountain sports enthusiasts. Participation is open to both individual athletes and relay teams. Those who prefer to share the challenge can register as a two- or three-person team: Two-person relay: athlete 1 runs from Bolzano/Bozen to Pemmern, athlete 2 completes the ski touring section. Three-person relay: athlete 1 runs to Oberbozen, athlete 2 to Pemmern, and Athlete 3 takes on the ski ascent to the Rittner Horn. For tireless adventurers, there’s also the original “Mountaineer” version: the ski touring equipment is carried from the start in Bolzano all the way to the transition in Pemmern, and the running gear must be taken along to the finish – an extra endurance challenge for true mountain athletes. Taking part in the Horn Attacke means experiencing not only a sporting challenge, but also an emotional adventure that will be remembered for a long time. The Sellaronda Skimarathon, an international night ski mountaineering race around the Sella massif, takes place this year in Corvara. Start and finish are in Corvara, with the race beginning at 6:00 pm. The 42 km course runs through Arabba, Canazei, and Selva Gardena before returning to Corvara.
