This is a quote from 1907 when the people from Bozen took the railway Renon (Rittner Bahn) to their summer retreat on the high plateau. Even today, after 113 years, our railway still runs between Maria Himmelfahrt, Oberbozen and Klobenstein as the only narrow-gauge railway in South Tyrol.

The Lipper Sawmill, an impressive example of traditional woodworking from the 18th century, can be experienced up close during a guided tour with live demonstration. Visitors are immersed in the history of alpine craftsmanship and learn fascinating details about the technology, working methods, and historical significance of the sawmill for the region.

There are only a few experts left who know the traditional method of making butter, and Christian Leitgeb is one of them. He will take you to his farm, the Eggerhöfe, to show you how butter is made. You will learn more about this regional and sustainable productand a fter a demonstration, sample the homemade butter on some freshly baked bread.

The traditional costume has a long tradition on the Ritten/Renon, which is still cultivated by associations and organisations today.
It is very important for us to preserve this living cultural asset for the future and make it accessible to a broad public.
World-renowned and resilient: discover how the marble from Laas/Lasa is processed and quarried through an exciting film presentation followed by a guided tour. The visit continues at the master stonemason’s workshop of Mayr Josef, where you will hear fascinating stories about the “white gold” and witness masterful craftsmanship.

From growing fodder to rearing calves, to livestock farming with dairy products and processing them into tasty yogurt, butter and cheese. Even the energy is generated directly on the farm. Visitors can take a tour of the new barn and the new cheese dairy to learn about and follow the process from milk to cheese. Under expert guidance, they have the opportunity to make their own soft cheese with various spices to suit their individual taste and take it home with them. The exciting experience ends with a tasting of the farm products.

Around 90 cows that have spent the summer on the Bergalm, the Ontrattalm and the Bärnfiechtalm will arrive dressed up at the Sennerhof (Jaufentalerhof) on Saturday at around 12:30 pm. the evnt starts at 10.00 am.
Food and drinks will be provided. There is a large marquee at the Sennerhof farm, music and good entertainment are guaranteed.
The event will take place in all weather conditions.
Moos in Passeier/Moso in Passiria, Meran/Merano and environs
During the traditional Zeppichl Almabtrieb (cattle drive), the decorated animals return to Zeppichl from the Lazinser Hof farm on the sunny side starting around 11:00 a.m.
"Frühschoppen" with the bohemian music of Walten and musical entertainment with the music group "Die lustigen Stawanza", as well as interludes by the folkloristic group Schuhplattler from Stuls/Stulles and Mölten/Meltina, and the Psairer Goaslschnöller.
There will be a guessing game with great prizes to win.
The Stelvio Sheep Breeders' Association invites you to the sheep herding festival in Stelvio on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at the Lausböden in Stelvio. The sheep will arrive at the Lausboden at around 8 a.m. This will be followed by the traditional sheep shearing. Food and drinks will be provided.
The cattle return from the alpine pastures to the valley and Sesto celebrates! The cows in particular are elaborately decorated on their return from the alpine pastures: the leading cow and the cows that follow her wear wreaths decorated with sayings, images of saints and elaborate embroidery. The Almabtrieb is combined with a festival to celebrate the safe return of the animals.

Old handicraft – more alive than ever
At the festival “Old handicraft beneath the Schlern”, artisans demonstrate their skills: basket weaving, knife making, barrel binding and much more!
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the village square of Seis becomes a stage for living history.
The event will be accompanied by music from the Pflerer Gitschen and the Südtiroler Tanzlmusig, as well as a farmers’ market, a children’s play area, and willow-weaving workshops.
Regional delicacies will also be available – come by and experience traditional craftsmanship!
The Tourist Office of Seis am Schlern in cooperation with the local heritage associations and the artisan association of Kastelruth.
