StilZ Festival is a cultural festival in typical Stelvio village locations, curated by Manfred Schweigkofler and supported by committed citizens. The name is a tribute to the village name as used by the people of Stelvio. The first edition of the StilZ Festival focuses on the heritage of Stelvio. It is about the encounter with this heritage, for example with traumatic experiences, such as the village fire in 1862 or the history of the Korrnr and Swabian children. But also the many beautiful stories that originated in Stelvio and which - in a kind of collective memory - still resonate in the community. Above all, it is the fountain squares and winding narrow streets that run through the village like arteries of water and life - a natural stage set for the artistic performances. The heritage inspires, just as the genius loci of the village inspires. Stelvio invites artists and guests to be impressed by its unique verticality.

The ninth edition of the Gherdëina Biennale entitled The Parliament of Marmots, curated by Lorenzo Giusti, will be open to the public from 31 May to 1 September 2024. The opening days range from Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June 2024. The exhibition, which has been bringing international contemporary art to the unique setting of the Dolomites since 2008, will once again take place in various locations in Ortisei and will also extend to the surrounding areas of Val Gardena. Dive into the fascinating world of traditional dance with the folk dance group of Ortisei. Experience an exhilarating performance as we dance with lively steps and graceful movements through the pedestrian area of Ortisei. Let yourself be carried away by our energy and passion for traditional dance, and discover the cultural diversity of our community in a truly special way! The folk dance group “Grupa Balarins de Gherdëina Urtijëi” was founded in 1963 and has been active without interruption since then. The group dances traditional folk dances based on a long tradition thereunder typical dances for thanksgiving, dances having the intent to attract the other gender and also typical “Schuhplattler”. The “Schuhplattler” dances are demonstrated by male dancers only. All dancers are wearing the “Grödner-Tracht” (traditional costume) which is known as one of the most beautiful and most precious of the alpine area. Due to numerous performances in our country as well as abroad and on TV, the group is very well known far beyond South Tyrol.
