Culture and nature trail with information boards about the local history, flora, fauna, geology and fruit and grape growing. A historic trail that joins the mountain and the valley.

The Aichbergweg trail runs along historic tracks and access routes a little above Lana. Information about the history of this ancient cultural landscape, as well as fruit and grape growing is provided on boards along the route.

From Lana the well-signposted route leads below the Vigiljoch Cable Car firstly along Villener Weg, then Raffeinweg up the mountain to Aichbergweg, where it leads in a southerly direction. Continuing to climb, Aichbergweg leads for almost 2 km high above Ultnerstrasse road through the forest and vineyards. Then turning left downhill, cross over Ultnerstrasse and on a track down to Braunsbergweg. Aichnerbergweg now leads past Braunsberg Castle back to Lana.

From the mountain station of the Vigiljoch Cable Car take trail no. 34 via Pawigl to Lana. After approx. 1.5 hours of hiking we reach the Greitwies café (Pawigl). The trail marked no. 34 leads to Lana as far as the Falschauer bridge; trail no. 34 A leads you along the Aichberg nature trail to the valley station of the Vigiljoch Cable Car.

Take the cable car and the chair lift up. About sunny plateaus teaseling Bühel on Vigiljoch. The road (Mark. 4) leads slightly downhill to the west, crosses the path of a small ski lift and leads between the inn and the church of St. Jocher.

From there you follow the markings 9-30 in moderate ascents through the forests to the south and southwest. From a large clearing, which can be reached on the southern edge, suddenly the rough Bühel is right diagonally forward to identify on which (unfortunately) are an antenna system and a hunter high level. The direct descent to Naturnser Alm is possible, but more difficult. The short descent back to the gate and the circumnavigation is also the next hilltop, where you a beautifully located plateau crossed by the north (Mark. 9B) and short to Naturnser Alm (no winter) descends.

From Naturnser Alm it's off to Mark. 30 in the north-east mainly through forest back to San Vigilio.

You walk on the  approximately 4 kilometer long small asphalt road along the Monte di Braies/Pragser Berg Mountain from Ferrara di Braies/Schmieden to S. Vito/St. Veit. The sunny trail offers a wonderful view ofer the valley and the mountainous panorama. Walking time: 1,5 hours

Twelve kilometers long, the Marlinger Waalweg trail is a popular hiking trail which runs along the former irrigation channels, the longest of its kind in South Tyrol. Starting at the Töllbrücke bridge, the 250 year-old path gently ascends through apple orchards and woods to firmer and more level ground. After pausing to admire the medieval Lebenberg Castle, hikers continue slightly downhill along the slope of Marling mountain to the village of Lana.

Easy hiking excursion, very suitable for families. Very beautyfull landscape.

Waalwege are historic irrigation paths that run alongside man-made canals. In the past, they were used by the so-called Waaler to monitor and maintain the water channels that ensured reliable irrigation of fields and meadows. Today, these often narrow trails are among South Tyrol’s most atmospheric walking routes. A special feature of the Brandis Waalweg is that its irrigation canal runs largely underground, while the walking path leads above it through the landscape.

The pleasant Brandis Waalweg walk between Oberlana/Lana di Sopra and Niederlana/Lana di Sotto is accessible year-round and offers wonderful views over the Adige Valley and the surrounding cultural landscape.

The Brandis Waalweg leads gently through vineyards, apple orchards and chestnut groves. It branches off to the left from the Gampen Road in Oberlana, continues past Lanegg Monastery and St. Margaret’s Church, and reaches the waterfall in the Brandis Gorge in Niederlana. Along the way, you can enjoy charming views of Lana and the Adige Valley, the Tschögglberg/Monzoccolo plateau and Meran/Merano. The path is also ideal for visiting the parish church of Lana with its famous Schnatterpeck altar, as well as the South Tyrolean Museum of Fruit Growing.

The Laugenspitze is with 2.434 meters the highest mountain of the Nonsberg group in South Tyrol. Its striking double peak consists of the big Laugen and the small Laugen. The peak is accessible by several marked hiking trails. The easiest of these paths leads over the gentle south ridge.

10.5 km long, comfortable walk at 450 m altitude, above the villages of Lana, Tscherms and Marling.

Those who are not yet tired of the hike can take the Algunder Waalweg (end Marlinger Waalweg, across the road, cross the small bridge in the direction of Lagundo) and then the Tappeinerweg (to Merano center) in the hike.

From Brückele/Ponticello you turn right before the bridge across the river onto a forest path; at the chapel turn right again to Postmeisteralm/Malga Posta, continue upwards until shortly before the Portella/Törl) and along the western slope to the summit. Sign-post: No. 29 Challenge: very demanding. Alternative: departure from alpine hut “Rossalm/Malga Rossalm” from the alpine hut “Rossalm/Malga Rossalm” upwards to Kuhglättenpinggl; continue in a northerly direction to the big Val Cavallo/gr. Rosstal and to the Gamssattel/Sella dei camosci, then to the right and up steeply to the summit. Walking time: 2 hours Sign-post: no. 4, no. 28 Challenge: demanding

Lana does not own a museum for contemporary art but it has a unique Sculpture Walk Trail leading many kilometres along the whole beautiful Brandis Waalweg and the Ländpromenade to the biotope of the river Valsura and on through the Gola Canyon. This exceptional land art project features open air art works and is continually extended.

Hikers and art enthusiast that take the South Tyrolean Sculpture Walk Trail can experience how artists from all over the world reacted on the given landscape and the changing conditions along the track and how differently they interpreted the nature in their individual works. These art exhibition sites are perfect resting spots and at the same time provide a space for contemplation and self-discovery.

The Sculpture Walk Trail's true nature is best experienced as a journey at an easy stroll. Selected works were placed in key locations, such as crossroads and forks, as a way for walkers to navigate and be spurred on by the works of art. Those who take it slow will be rewarded as the trail reveals the interaction between nature and sculpture - a delight for the eyes, intellect and spirit.

The high altitude hiking trail of Valles is a varied hike with stunning views, some secured sections, and the chance to experience the traditional alpine village of Fane Alm. Perfect for hikers seeking a mix of adventure and natural beauty.

The starting point of this hike is the mountain station of the chairlift Vigiljoch at 1.814 m. From here you walk slightly downhill to Gasthaus Jocher to the church of St. Vigilius. Under the small church there is a crossroads, from where you can reach the Bärenbad Alm. There begins the path no. 2, which is in the way nr. 9 and slowly rises towards Naturnser Alm (1,910 m). Follow path no. 9 to Rauhen Bühel (2.027 m), which leads up to the Hochwart. The way back is via the ascent path.

You walk from  the parking area Pragser Wildsee Lake in 45 minutes along the west coast on a broad gravel way with the (No. 19)  to the Malga Foresta/Grünwaldalm. The walk is also suitable for families.

The Foiana Panoramic Trail (partly also a narrow mountain path) offers a breathtaking view of the Merano basin. The route begins behind the old Nagelehof farm at the crossroads. Turning left, follow trail no. 4 past the Gruberhof and Tratterhof. At the first left-hand bend the panoramic trail forks right. The path then runs level through the trees to the first viewing point, known as Kitzerknott, and after a somewhat steep descent to the second point, Schöne Aussicht. The hike continues to trail no. 9 which leads steeply downhill. At the Steinweiherhof, turn right, and once past the sports ground you will return to your starting point.

Attention: road closed. According to Regulation No. 182/2025 of the municipality of Lana. More information can be found in the safety instructions.There are various stations where visitors can learn lots about chestnuts. The Chestnut Experience Trail (Kastanienerlebnisweg) is especially recommended for families and those who like a gentle walk. Along the trail one can learn a lot about the tree's wood, its fruit and the various types of chestnut.

Parking is available next to the church in Foiana/Völlan or at the football ground. Follow the Propst-Wieser-Weg trail. After the sporting grounds a Keschtnigl, a spiky chestnut the size of a person, advertises the Chestnut Experience Trail.

Follow the signs past the Weinreichhof farm to the start of the Chestnut Experience Trail. The trail is designed to be easy and interesting for young and old. Ten stations, some of them interactive, await visitors on a hike through the chestnut trees where it is all about the precious fruit.

Excursion of average difficulty in the middle of a snowy forest, marvellous proposal for those who are fond of nature. Starting point: Altprags/Braies Vecchia (1.440 m) Arrival: Putzalm hut (1.737 m)

At a fork in the direction of Naturnser Alm, walk on path no. 9 A slowly ascending to Naturnser Alm (1,910 m). The way back is via the ascent path.

Variant 2: The return path is via path no. 30 and no. 9 to Gasthof Jocher, further down on path no. 34 to the mountain station of the cableway Vigiljoch.

From the car park directly at the lake along a transport road to the Riedlhof farm, then on a hiking path to Alpe di Pra della Vacca/Kühwiesenhütte and slightly upwards to the peak. Walking time: 2,5 hours Sign-post: No. 20 Challenge: moderately demanding Alternative: departure from Steinwandthof Behind the Steinwandhof following the transport road, then turn left onto the hiking path to Malga Wöggen/Wöggenalm; from here somewhat steeper to the ridge and continue to the left to the peak.
