The winter hike from Lake Carezza to Häusler Sam hut is a true nature experience. From the very start, the snow-covered lake enchants with its quiet, fairy-tale charm. The trail winds through peaceful forests and open snowfields, offering breathtaking views of the majestic Rosengarten mountain. Far from the hustle and bustle, this route invites you to breathe deeply, slow down, and enjoy the beauty around you. At the end of the hike, the cozy Häusler Sam hut awaits with warm South Tyrolean hospitality and delicious local dishes. Itinerary

The hike starts at the Lake Carezza parking lot. From there, pass through the underpass beneath the road and turn right, following the pathalong the lake.
Soon you’ll reach path [8], which leads toward Obereggen. Follow this wide, well-maintained winter path through a snowy forest.
After about 30–40 minutes, turn right onto path [S] – the Samweg, which gently ascends to the Häusler Sam hut.

For the return, follow the same path back to the starting point.

Good winter equipment is required (winter boots, possibly also crampons if needed, etc.).
Getting to the starting point of the tour by public transport is easy and convenient.
