Signposted as „Sonnenrundweg“ trail (Sun Path), this simple 1 hr. 45 min. hiking circuit crossing over sunny slopes and through shady woods leads off the parking lot near the church. In winter the wooded sections are ideal for snowshoe hiking.

The path to the Waterfalls starts and ends at the three Holy Wells. The comfortable hiking trail, with slight inclines, is about 6.4 km long and offers cultural experiences as well as a stop at the beautiful waterfalls.

Starting at the village square in Platt, along the main street (direction Pfelders) until shortly after the fire brigade hall − here the path goes upwards through the forest and meadows. Follow the path no. 6 upwards to the farm Farmazon (about 45 min.). Then take the path 10B leading into the Farmazon valley. After only about 15 min. the Platter ancient larches are reached. Mighty larches with a huge extent and a history of thousand years. Short ascent, where a beautiful rest area with a stone table invites for a break. Follow the path no. 10 back in direction to Platt/Plata.
Jenesien, Jenesien/Nobls crossing: steps will lead you to trail no. 33a, which heads to the Locher restaurant. From here, walk along trail no. 2 until you reach the earth pyramids and the Wieser restaurant, continue until you reach the Tschaufenhaus mountain refuge. From here walk on along trail no. 7 through the Salten, to reach Saltner Edelweiss Hotel and come back to the point of departure going along trail no. 33a. Duration of the excursion: 4 hours - Drop/rise: 540 m
Starting from the local tourist office, follow trail no. 3a and walk along trail no. 3b until you reach the Unterweg restaurant. Walk along trail no. 3a through the Afing gorge and you will reach Afing. Your way back will be on trail no. 31 and than along trail no 30 to reach Jenesien. Duration of the excursion: 4 hours and 45 minutes - Drop/rise: 850 m

A walk through history
More than 2000 years ago, the Puster Valley was under the administrative control of the Roman Empire. Today you can still discover evidence of the early history of the Noricum province, which was once part of the Great Celtic kingdom, in parts of Ehrenburg/Casteldare and the nearby settlement area of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo.
An attractive and leisurely circular walk between the southern center of Kiens/Chienes and the western landscape area of Ehrenburg/Casteldarne offers insights into the history of the Romans. The importance of travelling and the role of the rest stops around Kiens/Chienes are presented in an exciting way at various rest points, with information’s about the Romans, to bring the past to life.
One of the best-preserved milestones from Roman times is a two-meter-high column sculpted from quartz phyllite. The Roman stone was erected during the reign of the Roman Emperor Lucius Septinus Severus and shows the distance to the Roman town of Aguntum near Lienz in East Tyrol further to the east.
Also worth seeing (only from the outside) is the historic Ehrenburg castle, which was built in 1250, and the nearby baroque parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The beautiful wooden fences and the old dry-stone walls in Ehrenburg/Casteldarne are also particularly attractive. Refreshment stops to take a well-deserved break at: Bar Restaurant Obermair in Ehrenburg/Casteldarne and Riverhotel Post in Kiens/Chienes.
Hike from Schleis to the rustic village of Schlinig or in the other direction.
Starting from Bad Bergfall (accessible with the trekking bus n. 435.2) via hiking trail n. 4, then n. 4A to the Trattes mountain restaurant and then continue on hiking trail n. 3 to the Furkelpass.
The hiking trail to the Rif. Forcola/Furkelhütte has a length of about 12 km. The Rif. Forcola is located at 2153 m and on its sun terrace you can enjoy the wonderful view of the Ortler group.

Hike to the Bruggeralm in the idyllic Zerzertal valley with its small church.
This easy hike starts in Niederdorf/Villabassa and takes you through idyllic meadows and forests to Toblach/Dobbiaco. After around 1.5 hours, you will reach Gustav Mahler's composer's cottage, where the famous composer wrote parts of his 9th and 10th symphonies.
The tour provides an insight into Mahler's creative period. Right next door, the Dobbiaco Wildlife Park invites you to observe the animals. The way back leads along the same route or via Altschluderbach back to Niederdorf/Villabassa.

The Bergl Alpine Hut (2.188 m) is located at Trafoi and reachable from Solda and Trafoi Valley.
Hike in the Stelvio national park with a varied view of the valley, the Monte Sole mountain, the Val Martello and the Covelano marble quarry.
This hike offers cultural peculitarities and picturesque viewpoints at the Venosta Monte Sole mountain.
The hike to the Malga Stelvio di Sopra/Oberen Stilfser Alm has a length of about 11.6 km. The path leads through nature to a beautifully managed alpine pasture, with its own alpine dairy. There's also the possibility to enjoy lunch at the Malga Stelvio di Sopra.
Hike from Skihütte to the Rossalm mountain pasture and the Großer Gabler summit on the Plose (2,575 m). Early risers or not, most people wish to experience the magic moment of sunrise, basking under the first rays of the new day on a mountaintop. With the sun rising on the Dolomite peaks of the Geisler Group, the Aferer Geisler and the Peitlerkofel, there’s no doubt that getting up early was well worth the effort.
The hiking trail to the Malga Tarres di Sopra has a length of about 12.2 km. The path leads through nature to a beautiful alpine pasture. If you would like to take a shorter hike to the Malga Tarres di Sopra, you can follow path no. 16 directly from Trafoi to the alpine pasture.
