This short and easy hike is perfect for families and takes you from Gossensass to the impressive ruins of Castel Straßberg. Built around 1200, the castle is located on a hill ridge at Ried, once touched by the Brenner Pass route. Today, the castle's gate tower, the surrounding walls, and the keep are still visible. Over the centuries, the castle was owned by several powerful noble families, including the Landsknecht leader Georg von Frundsberg.

After the underpass beneath the highway, turn right at the Hubertushof (yellow building) and enter the forest. Follow the forest trail to reach the "Herrengarten," then the old mill, and finally the ruins of Castle Straßberg. Since the castle is privately owned, it can only be viewed from the outside.
