This themed trail starts in the village center of Selva, behind the Ski School. It is a journey through the history of skiing in Val Gardena, from the beginnings of Alpine skiing, to its establishment as a world-famous ski area which hosts breath-taking ski world cup races every year. In the audio guide you are accompanied by Erich Demetz, honorary citizen of Selva, pioneer and conceiver of the alpine Ski World Cup races in Val Gardena and President for 28 years of the FIS (Fédération Internationale de Ski).

This medium-easy routeruns circularly between the villages of Corvara and Colfosco, at the foot of the majestic Sassongher mountain. The initial ascent through the woods will then give way to a spectacular view of the north face of the Sella massif.

The hike starts directly at the mountain station Stiergarten and leads from there always slightly downhill to the Malga Klammbach, the Malga Nemes and the Coltrondo and from there on over to the middle station of the cable car Stiergarten. There you can take the gondola back to the valley.

Shortly before the Sesto heating plant (1300 m), the ascent to the Außergsell (1955 m) takes place via trail no. 12. Always along the forest road, the route is moderately steep through the forest to the Außergsell.
The descent is on the same path.

Avalanche risk: Between Sailerhof farm and the ascent to Seebergalm mountain hut there is the risk of avalanche in conditions of abundant snow. Caution must also be exercised on the final section of the descent to the Wanser Bach torrent!

The two-hour snowshoe hike is an easy hike for every snowshoe hiker. The Samhütte is the goal of the walk - for the way back you use the same way. The walk is recommendable because of the beautiful winter landscape and the panoramic views. The Samhütte hut is not hosted.
Excursion of average difficulty in the middle of a rough and untouched nature bring you to the "Kaserhütte" hut.
Starting point: Pragser Wildsee lake (1.494 m) Highest point: Kaserhütte hut (1.937 m)
Route: from the car park at Kalterer See lake, continue north to the Geier restaurant. Behind the restaurant, a narrow trail leads to the north into the orchards. Walk along these and turn off to the right in an easterly direction following the markers. At the slope on the eastern side of the valley, turn right, passing by the hotel on the left to the Klughammer road. First follow this road, then continue on a trail above the road.
This trail ends at the southern end of the lake. Cross the road to join the Nature Discovery Trail (Naturerlebnisweg). At the end of this nature trail, turn right onto the so-called Kuchlweg trail, hiking to the vineyards on the western side of the valley. Just before the wine road, turn right into the trail through the field, following it until you reach the point where the wine road curves to the right. Cross over and now follow a trail through the field once more. Then follow the footpath next to the wine road to the church of San Giuseppe al Lago/St. Josef am See (Kirche St. Josef). Take the farm track to the right back to the starting point of the hike.
The Sesto ski touring trail teaches you everything you need to know for safe ski touring during a tour lasting just under two hours. The ski touring trail combines basic theoretical knowledge, for example about the correct behaviour in the event of an avalanche, with an almost six-kilometre tour on which around 540 metres in altitude have to be conquered. The ski touring trail, which is equipped with information boards, starts behind the Zin Fux restaurant and leads between trees and across meadows to the Rotwand. From there to the mountain station, the uphill kick turn is practised in open terrain before returning to the valley via the ski slope.
