The Langental/Vallunga Valley: At the entrance to the Puez-Geisler Nature Park, a place of profound silence stretches for several kilometres. Embedded in the valley between dense forests and majestic mountains, hikers immerse themselves here in an oasis of tranquility. With every step, one feels the primeval power and peaceful atmosphere emanating deeply from the woodland.
The hike starts in the Vallunga Valley in Selva di Val Gardena and first follows the trail No. 14 towards the St. Silvester Chapel. The true pinnacle of tranquility awaits us right behind the chapel: the Via Crucis (No. 26). As the sun filters through the sparse winter trees, we are accompanied by the impressive wooden stations, crafted by a local carver, through this peaceful passage, far away from any hustle and bustle. From the small hamlet of Daunëi, we ascend along Trails No. 17A and No. 3 to the Juac Alm. The climb is generously rewarded: here, the atmosphere abruptly shifts from the quiet of the woods to the wide, grandiose scenery of the Dolomites. Enjoy the 360-degree view of the iconic peaks of Sassolungo, the Sella Group, Col Raiser, and Seceda. The return journey to the Vallunga follows the same route, allowing us to experience the stunning panorama and the serenity of the forest one last time.
