    Best time: March to May
Degree of difficulty: for good skiers with Alpine experience

    Day 1 ascent: 600 m elevation gain, 4 hours
The same ascent route as ski tour to the Ötzi discovery site; the trail then takes you downhill on the Niederhochferner glacier and briefly uphill to the Refuge Similaun (3,019 ma.s.l).

    Day 2 ascent: 600 m elevation gain, 2 hours
The ascent goes from the Similaun lodge to Similaun in a south-easterly direction over the Niederjochferner glacier, rising only slightly to begin with but becoming steeper, up to a narrow and often monitored summit ridge.

    Starting point: Maso Corto/Kurzras, Masi Kofel/Koflhöfe (1,938 m a.s.l.)
    Ascent: 949 m elevation gain, 3 hours
    Best time: December to April

A pleasant tour and not too difficult; only the part through the woods, along the narrow Sommerweg is somewhat difficult, especially when descending. The ascent starts at Koflhof farm (0.7 km before Maso Corto/Kurzras), moving southwards through the Lagauntal Valley. Before the valley basin, go to the right up the slope north-westwards, arriving at Stotz, north of the Saldurkamm mountains. You can descend either by the same route or by going north via Lazaun Mountain hut to Maso Corto/Kurzras.

    Also suitable for intermediate-level skiers.

to the Grionplotten - Ski tour an higking
Graun im Vinschgau/Curon Venosta, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
Starting point: Small car park (1920m) at the end of the road to Rojen/Schöneben. Descent: along the ascent route Notes: In good conditions and with a sensible choice of route, the tour does not present any particular difficulties. Avoid at all costs in unfavourable visibility conditions (orientation difficulties!) Ascent: On the right side of the valley, the route is initially rather flat, heading south-westwards. Before you come to a collection of idyllic mountain barns, you climb over the gentle slopes of the mountain meadows, keeping slightly to the right, before ascending to the right over an almost treeless ridge. The first slope is a little steep and requires caution, then continue over the ridge until you reach the Wetterkreuz cross south of the Inn. Nockenkopf (up to here the tour corresponds to that to the Inner Nockenkopf). Continue westwards over gentle hollows. At first glance, the destination is not yet clearly recognisable, but as the ascent progresses, everything becomes clearer. A little caution is required on the last summit slope, which is negotiated from left to right. Further ascent: You can also continue further into the valley and follow the first section of the route to the Grionkopf, then, always skilfully avoiding steep slopes and V-slopes, turn right up towards Grionplotten.

Worthwhile mountain tour with unforgettable views over the holiday regions in the region Passo Resia, Tiroler Oberland and Unterengadin. Starting point: Northern end of the village of Reschen Descent: Along the ascent route Difference in altitude: Sesslad 900m, Piz Lad 1300m (1973m). Ascent time: Sesslad approx. 3 hours, Piz Lad approx. 4 hours Slope direction: south-east Ski technique: summit slope medium, otherwise easy Alpine technique: easy Note: the very steep and long summit slope must be approached carefully Ascent: At the end of the Anchor lift, turn right and ascend over gentle terrain, past the Bergstadeln. At the end of the meadow, keep slightly to the right up to the Reschner Alm 2020m. From here, follow the summer path almost horizontally to the right edge of a steep upswing. Behind this, turn left (westwards) briefly steeply into a shallow hollow. After the tree line, keep left to the weather cross at Sesslad 2375m. If the snow conditions are uncertain, stop there and enjoy the view. From here, the rest of the ascent route over the very steep southern flank is quite clear. Climb very steeply between rock ribs from left to right up to the large slope area. Keep to the right as far as possible to the summit cross at 2808m.

    Ascent: 1,728 m elevation gain, 6-7 hours
    Best time: March to May

This tour is difficult alone due to the difference in elevation. From Maso Corto/Kurzras along the Sommerweg (summer path as far as the bridge; then in each case take a right into the Steinschlagtal Valley. Climb up through the valley, which is narrow at the start but then widens out. Head towards the north-west, cross the Steinschlagferner glacier and cross over through Quellenjoch pass to the Matscherferner glacier; or at 2,900 m a.s.l, veer right over steep slopes to the ridge where you reach the traces of the Hintereisfern glacier. Moving further north, you arrive at the Hintereisjoch pass where you can climb the Weißkugel by the south ridge. You can only reach the secondary summit with skis. The climb to the 30 m high main summit is very exposed. You can descend either by the same route or by the Bella Vista route (Route B).

Only for good and very fit touring skiers with Alpine experience.

    Route B

Downhill to the Hintereisferner glacier as far as the trail that comes up from Vent. Arrive at Hintereisjoch pass having passed over the flat Hintereisferner glacier, from there northwards and over the south ridge to the secondary summit of the Weißkugel. You can descend by the same route or by the route described in Route A or C.

    Ascent: 1,000 m elevation gain, 4 hours
Best time: March to the beginning of May

with the construction of the chairlift Teurelsegg, the tour to the Weisskugel peak is mainly started from there. The disadvangage, however, is that many tourers usually start at the same time. The ascent is via Teurelsegg (3,227 m a.s.l) from there short descent to the Hintereisferner. Via the flat Hintereisferner you reach the Hintereisjoch (3,471 m a.s.l). From there turning north, overcoming the steep mud wall and over the south degree to te pre-peak of the Weißkugel (there is a skidepot). To the 30 m main summit one reaches an exposed degree. Beautifully situated on the Fallatschkamm ridge between the Stilfserjoch ridge and Val Müstair/Münstertal valley, the Piz Chavalatsch mountain (2,763 m) offers one of the best viewpoints in all of the Vinschgau/Val Venosta valley. The tour that leads to Piz Chavalatsch is very popular and highly recommended, as it is both one of the easiest and most beautiful: it is a rewarding mountain hike that presents no real difficulties worth mentioning. Next to the summit cross is a former Italian customs hut that now serves as a relay station for amateur radio enthusiasts in the Vinschgau valley. The trails are very gentle and there are no exposed or difficult sections. Because the described route is on the sunny side, ascending during the hottest part of the day should perhaps be avoided.
