"We have been farming for generations“ says Alois Burger. Now, since 2008, Winklhof farm, lying at an altitude of 915 m, has also been producing bread in addition to it's traditional cattle rearing and dairy farming. Grains of rye, wheat and spelt are milled in a large mill and then made into bread. Delicious products such as potatoes, ‘Speck’ and sausages can be tasted and bought at the farm shop.

Bees - so small and yet so important for our planet.
They are among the most important pollinators in the world and contribute to the preservation of wild and cultivated plants.

Learn everything about the life of the bee under expert guidance. Our beekeeper Roland will explain to you how the bee builds its combs and how the honey gets from the blossom to the jar. You will also learn which products can be made from honey. After the tour, you can taste some honey.

These tours are only available on request from June to October.

The Hintergrathütte is located north-east of the Suldenferner, a large glacier below the Ortler, Zebrù and Königspitze mountains. It can be reached from Sulden, among other places, on a marked hiking trail no. 2 in 2.5 hours. The hut is an important base for climbing the Ortler, especially for the route via the Hintergrat. Within reach of the stars! In our cosy shared rooms and in the bright, spacious camps, mountaineers can recover from strenuous tours and summit strikers can gather strength for the next day. We offer accommodation for a total of 70 people. We are open from mid-June to the beginning of October. Reservations by e-mail are only possible in the winter months from October to May.

The Julius Payer Hut was named after Julius Payer, the famous cartographer and polar explorer, who was the first to map the entire Ortler region. The hut has been managed by the Wöll family for over 20 years. It is located in an extremely exposed position on the Tabaretta ridge at 3,029m. It is also the last overnight stop on the Ortler ascent.
