For the eightteenth time now, the environmental group of Kaltern, together with the umbrella organisation for nature and environmental protection, the environmental group and the municipality of Eppan, is organising the car-free cycling day on the Mendel - a visible sign of active climate protection. The road is closed to motorised traffic from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. from Oberplanitzing junction to the Mendel Pass. So it's free to ride for cyclists!

The guided tours start with a short tour of the vineyard and an explanation of the work throughout the year, follows a visit to the new wine cellar and a tasting of the wines with a snack. Fresh vegetables and fruits, eggs, spices, cheese, honey, wine, juice….and many more quality products cultivated and produced in Kaltern are being sold from 8 am to noon on the Square of the town. Come by and experience the taste of nature. All these products have been produced and are being sold by the local farmers themselves. In a matter of fact South Tyrol enjoys of a very good reputation as far as the production of quality products is concerned. Thanks to the accurate cultivation methods and the strict hygenic regulations there is no doubt that these goods are of the highest quality and of the best taste.
