The Latemar World Heritage Site promises unforgettable adventures and a one-of-a-kind nature experience. Various installations, booklets, maps, audio games and an app will help children aged 6 to 14 solve difficult puzzles and tasks in analog and digital formats. The entire family can actively participate in the adventures and earn valuable points that will help with specific reforestation of the woods. On the Poachers's Trail - Audio game hike: 2 hours, 1.3 km (trail nr. 23, LATEMAR.NATURA). It’s 5:30 am. At the crack of dawn, Klara and Toni left the Jörglhof with you. ​​ They want to take advantage of the breaking dawn to introduce you to the diverse wildlife of their home, Latemar. Suddenly, the forest’s silence is disturbed by a loud bang – a gunshot! Startled you stop … trampling, branches and twigs cracking, a young deer rushes across the path in front of you and disappears in the bushes. In the distance, you hear a suppressed curse – a poacher! You want to stop the rascal and thus, secretly take up the pursuit – an adventurous hunt begins. In the process, you have to master exciting and tricky challenges.

The Malga Lingeralm is located above the village Meltina in the middst of the sunny high plateau Salto. From here you have a excellent panoramic-view. For small and large is provided with a large sun terrace and a small children's playground with swing. Typical South Tyrolean dishes and cakes are offered.

There is a table tennis, a football place, a little wood (for little pirates and bandits) and particularly peace and silence.

The Raiermoos biotope is a natural haven in Raas/Rasa, on the Natz-Schabs/Naz-Sciaves plateau. This scenic nature trail with a series of helpful info boards leads through the unspoilt landscape.

The romanesque church St.Jakob on the Langfenn is positioned on the most visible and on the highest point of the Salto (1525m). The church stands on prehistoric ground and could tell us probabely many interesting and exciting historical things. On the altar we can see Saint Jakob, the protector of all hikers, and on his side the two Patrons of the pest, Rochus and Sebastian..

This relaxing hike is sure to make the heart of every hiker beat a little faster. Fantastic views of the Latemar, Weißhorn and Schwarzhorn mountains and great places to stop for delicious refreshments make this hike an unforgettable experience.

A line of chestnut groves extends from the abbey of Novacella/Neustift near Bressanone/Brixen all along the slopes of the Isarco Valley as far as the high plateau of the Rittner and down into the Bolzano/Bozen valley as far as Runkelstein castle with its fabled frescoes: the ideal route for the “Keschtnweg”. It should not only be thought of as an Autumn excursion though, because the landscape is extremely attractive all year round thanks to the diverse vegetation of the area.

First stage with starting point in Bolzano Bozen: from Roncolo castle to Auna di Sotto-Unterinn on the highplateau of Renon-Ritten

From the castle choose the way n. 2 and than follow the n. 2A until the cross path with the n. 6. Continue on the n. 6 until Signato-Signat and than proceed along the way n. 13 until the destination, Auna di Sotto-Unterinn.

This trail runs smoothly on a forest road through forests and meadows. At Frassineto you have the possibility to have a rest, to stop at one of the restaurants and to return then to Meltina by public transport (bus no. 204).

Along the road to S. Leonardo/St. Leonhard, until the settlement area to the left (signposted), along a forest paths north to Cornale/Karnol, there uphill along the field trail no. 6 to Burgstall. Back direction south though the forest (trail no. 12) on the sports grounds to the starting point.

A journey through the Wonderland - from north to south!

The "Sentiero Italia" is one of the longest hiking trails in the world: over 7,000 kilometres.

There are about 400 stages that connect the Alps with the Apennines. 

Follow the path (trail no. 7) from the bus stop on Höfestraße road to Meluno/Mellaun and then go uphill to Oberplattnerhof farm. The path across the field bends to the right (trail no. 18), leading to the Wieser wayside shrine. Descend down trail no. 8 down to Cleran/Klerant and from there northwards back to the starting point in Meluno/Mellaun on trail no. 12.

The LATEMAR.NATURA trail was made for families and nature-lovers and leads through alpine landscapes and altitude zones to discover natural habitats of the alpine region. Interactive stations make the hikers aware of the nature around and acquaint them with the local flora and fauna.
The Oberholz hut at the mountain station acts as starting point of a hike underneath the rocks of Latemar. With its modern architecture, the unique location and the 360° panoramic terrace, the Oberholz hut is a true highlight.

This hiking circuit passes through all five nature reserves on the Natz-Schabs high plateau: Raiermoos in Raas/Rasa, Sommersürs, Zuzzis and Hairer in Viums/Fiumes and Laugen, south of Natz/Naz.

Surrounded by larch forests and alpine meadows, the alpine restaurant Lanzenschuster is located on the northern part of the plateau Salten, above Flaas. The restaurant Lanzenschuster serves hearty home-made South Tyrolean specialities with regional products and home made products, like strudel with apple or cheese. During the summer often barbeques and live music are waiting for you, and for children a playground and a petting zoo are offered.

The Möltner Kaser is below the Stoanernen Mandlen and is a very beautiful alpine pasture with restaurant

Vaia’s Wrath - Audio game hike: about 2 hours, 2.5 km (trail nr. 9, LATEMAR.ALP). Last night, hurricane Vaia roared through the Latemar region, leaving behind a landscape of devastation. Pale and sleepy, Toni turns off the radio. Your family is currently spending the fall vacations on Toni’s parents’ farm, the Jörgelhof. You are just sitting with a cup of tea when Toni’s sister Klara storms into the parlor - her beloved calf Peppi is gone! You quickly gather the most important equipment and set off in search for the lost animal – through the completely devastated forest landscape. Fallen trees, raging streams – many dangerous and tricky situation are awaiting you and you must master them.

Spectacular, breathtaking views over endless alpine peaks. Four panoramic plattforms at over 2000 metres to give you an uniquely thrilling experience.
One of the platforms, the sunny terrace of Oberholz alpine hut, offers an unbelievable 360° panoramic view and fits seamlessly into the natural mountain landscape.

The malga Sattlerhütte is a very beautifully situated, rustic pasture below the Möltner Kaser. The hike can be done at any time of the year: in winter as a snowshoe tour, in autumn - when the larches turn yellow-gold, in the summer because of the lush green meadow and especially in spring, when the alpine meadows turn into a flowering sea of crocuses and other spring flowers.

A journey through the Wonderland - from north to south!

This trail will take you along alpine meadows to interactive stations and inform you about alpine pasture farming and the Dolomites World Heritage Site. Toni and Klara must find their small calf Peppi in this interactive audio game.

This well-frequented route from Schabs/Sciaves runs through the valley and across the Rienzschlucht gorge to Rodenegg Castle, one of the biggest and best defended fortifications in South Tyrol, before returning via Mühlbach/Riomolino back to Schabs.

From the Schermoos parking place, walk along the E5 European long-distance walking trail until you reach the Möltner Kaser restaurant/mountain hut. Keep on walking along trail no. 23A until you reach the famous "Men of Stone" with its amazing view on the Dolomites. On your way back, follow the path no. 23 and no.5 to reach the Jenesier Jöchl pastures.
From the pastures, go on along trail no. 5 until you reach the parking Schermoos. Walking hours around 5 hours- Drop/rise 730 m

The Secret of the Venetian - Audio game hike: 2 hours, 1.4 km (trail nr. 22, LATEMAR.PANORAMA). Toni and Klara, the Jörglhof siblings, are once again on the road with you, entertaining you with a legend from their homeland, the Latemar puppets. Fascinated, you are looking at the mountain peaks of the Latemar, to recognize in them the puppets of the Venetian, when you hear a voice "I, too, am looking for my knife! Help me and I will reward you richly!". Startled, you whirl around, between the bushes there is an old man who seems to have sprung from the legend you just heard. In search of the lost knife, you land in the middle of the legendary world of the Latemar. There are tricky puzzles to be solve, the evil witch Langwerda to be escaped and many dangers to be overcome.
