Invitation to the Concert: Chamber Music by Women Composers with Ensemble Desiderio Dear friends of music, We are delighted to invite you to a special concert by Ensemble Desiderio, featuring a program dedicated entirely to chamber music by women composers. With this concert, we continue our series focusing on the music of female composers – from the Romantic era to the present day. Look forward to works that move, surprise, and inspire. Experience music by three outstanding composers from different periods: Louise Farrenc (1804–1875) – One of the most important, now rediscovered composers of the 19th century. Her chamber music is melodic, finely structured, and full of vitality. Caroline Shaw (1982) – The Pulitzer Prize winner and boundary-crosser between classical, pop, and experimental music captivates with subtle sound colors and playful creativity. Doina Rotaru (1951) – A Romanian composer with a distinctive musical language – spiritual, rhythmically intense, and rich in timbre. Admission is free. Every first Saturday of the month, musicians from all over the valley come together in Martinerhof's Brauhaus to make music and celebrate together. Anyone who is in a good mood, plays an instrument or is in good voice can join in.

After almost 10 years, the “Brixtown Music Night” concert series is finally back! Twenty-one musicians will present an evening full of music with a wide and varied repertoire of different musical styles. The event is organized by the Jugendhaus Kassianeum association, which is responsible for managing the Astra cultural center. Klaus Ramoser, founder of the original Brixtown Music Night, is the artistic director. Brixtown Music Night 2025 will take place on November 7 and 8, 2025, starting at 8:00 p.m. at the Astra cultural center in Bressanone.

South Tyrol's winegrowers are known as unconventional thinkers who boldly took new and creative paths and thus built up one of the best winegrowing regions in Italy. As part of this year's Gourmet Autumn Naturns a number of winegrowers and cellar masters will be presenting their wineries and wine collections. (only in german and italian language) The farm, first mentioned in the 13th century as "Widum Baumannhof", once served the local parish with its large communal oven. Today, it stands for sustainable alpine farming and energy independence. From unfiltered apple juice – now award-winning – we moved on to traditional cider production. In 2012, climate change led us to experiment with wine at 1048 m altitude. Eleven grape varieties were tested, micro-vinified, and aged in amphorae and oak. Seven varieties remain, now grown and vinified as a field blend, fermented together in the old tradition. The result: mountain BIO wines full of character, freshness, and vibrant acidity – grown at 1048 meters.

Yannis Xenakis: Sextet ‘Les Plejades’ ‘Plejaden’ by Iannis Xenakis is a percussion sextet composed in 1979. It is considered one of the most important works in the history of percussion music. The work is characterised by a high degree of technical complexity and places extreme demands on the percussionists, who must play the specially developed instrument ‘Sixxen’, among other things. The name ‘Pleiades’ was borrowed from Greek mythology; the Pleiades are the daughters of the Titan Atlas and the sea nymph Pleione. The main aim of the South Tyrolean percussion ensemble ‘conTakt percussion-group’ is to promote as wide a spectrum of percussion literature as possible, from both the classical and contemporary repertoires. Starting from the school building, we will walk together over the Olive Hill to the Widumanger, where the story of St. Martin will be told as part of a liturgical service.

Afterwards, the KFS Riffian/Rifiano invites everyone to join for refreshments.

In case of bad weather, the meeting point is at 5:00 p.m. in the pilgrimage church of Riffian.
