Carnival in Colfosco: between colours, music and fun on the slopes. Come and taste the delicacies of the carnival season, such as the delicious "Faschingskrapfen", soft, fluffy donuts filled with apricot jam or cream, typical for Carnival. There's plenty of fun for the little ones with clowns and face painting. Music with lively rhythms accompanies the party.

Colourful costumes, children's entertainment, face-painting and carnival doughnuts: all this awaits you at the carnival party in Badia. You are invited to show off your best costumes and spend fun hours with the whole family and friends.

The Banishing of Winter in Prato allo Stelvio The banishing of winter and the race of the Zussl are ancient traditional customs practiced only in Prato allo Stelvio. Every year at this time, there is a carnival procession and a noisy ritual repeated exactly the same way. On Shrove Tuesday the town’s youth wear white costumes adorned with colored flowers made of paper and large bells, some as heavy as 20 kg, are worn around the waist of the males. The Zussl are dressed in white from head to toe and adorned with colored ribbons and paper pulp flowers. Tied around their waists, they wear large noisy bells, which often weigh over 20 kilos.

The colourful hustle and bustle during the Carnival season is an important event for Ortisei. This year, on 17th of february a “Carnival skiing” takes place on the Palmer and Furdenan ski slopes. Masked skiers will get delicious Loacker-biscuits. The nicest masks will be awarded!

Carnival party on the slope: costume parade open to everybody with award for the best Carnival Outfit. Ski & acrobatic show with the Pirates Freestyle Team and DJ. At the Kronplatz Ski & Music Festival Band Edition, from March 5–8, 2026, it’s all about Pop, Rock, Indie, and Folk. On the slopes and in the huts, the party is on – with well-known bands and street musicians from across Europe creating an unforgettable atmosphere, while skiers enjoy the breathtaking runs of Kronplatz.

The Watles ski area is once again taking a trip back in time this year, with a nostalgic atmosphere throughout the entire ski area. In March, when winter is loudly driven out every year in the tradition-conscious Upper Vinschgau Valley and the entire region is already being spoiled by the sun again, friends of traditional skiing meet at the Watles adventure mountain for a very special event. On this day, fans of authentic skiing fun take to the slopes in suits and ski outfits from the era of Luis Trenker, such as Norwegian dresses or Sarner jackets and hats, with the women wearing skirts and classic wooden walking sticks. They ski down the slopes on original wooden skis. And at the exuberant celebration afterwards, with regional specialities (food like in the old days), there is a waltz in the ski hut instead of après-ski. On Friday, March 14, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Weinstube Mühle will host Franz & Robert for an evening of live music. The duo captivates audiences with a blend of well-known classics, lively tunes, and harmonious interplay of vocals and instruments. A cozy atmosphere, great music, and a fine glass of wine – the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the evening.

The mountain huts of the La Crusc Skitour Ütia L'Tamá, Ütia Lé, Ütia Nagler, La Crusc-Santa Croce and Ranch da André offer traditional dishes of the Ladin culture, all dedicated to a local product. The precious recipes have been passed down from generation to generation and are based on simple ingredients and identified by their genuine taste. Try the unique and genuine flavours of the Ladin tradition during the whole week. But that's not all! On the occasion of the opening event, each hut will present its special dish during a cooking show, where the chefs will demonstrate how to prepare the delicious Ladin specialities. Enjoy our typical food and immerse yourself in our Ladin world! Why should skiing and snowboarding only be fun during winter? Every year, Dolomites Val Gardena invites passionate winter sport athletes to the Spring Race Party. Schwemmalm Open Air 2026 will take place on 21 March. The party will be in full swing at the mountain station of the schwemmalm cable car, at an altitude of 2,150 meters! Afterwards, the after-show party will take place at the valley station of the schwemmalm cable car! Admission to the open air event is included with a multi-day ski pass, a season ticket or a day ticket. Those who only want to go up for the open air event only pay the price for the ascent and descent with the cable car. The Ultentalcard is NOT valid on this day!

During the music week Sound of Snow, from 23 to 28 March 2026, the mountain huts in the ski area fill the alpine landscape with live music. Three times a week, from 12 to 3 pm, various bands perform and create special musical moments right on the slopes. The focus is on young, talented South Tyrolean artists who captivate audiences with fresh sounds and an authentic atmosphere. The week concludes on 28 March with the Spring Mountain Festival at the Gitschhütte. An alpine music experience that perfectly combines winter enjoyment and live sound.

Flower Festival at Naturno. After a cold winter, we are all the more looking forward to spring: Nature is at full throttle, it begins to bloom, fragrance and sprout. The warming sun attracts colourful flowers and bright buds. In Naturns we welcome spring with a colourful festival. From the farmers to the gardeners, everyone is on their feet organising the spring festival - the whole village and all guests are invited to celebrate! Gardeners present spring flowers and decorations and everything is framed by cheerful traditional music. Be there! The Merano Flower Festival is an event dedicated to flowers, herbs and ornamental plants, which is also held in the towns of Algund, Merano and Scena will take place.

On March 29, Bistro Bergsteiger in the Fischleintal Valley invites you to a special musical afternoon as part of Sexten Mountain & Music. From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the band Queen Laurin will fill the air with captivating rock music, creating an unforgettable atmosphere in the heart of the Dolomites.
